It is funny how sometimes other animals like that can stand right in the middle of a war zone and the combatants don't even pay them any attention. They are just focused on each other. You'd like one time for one of those Hyena to be slick and come up behind a vulture who's gotten too careless.. Easy snack for the Hyena.. lol
Sheer poundage the historic beef that lions have with spotted hyenas, but I don’t believe that brown hyenas will bother as the occupy a different niche same with striped hyena they both hunt small game and are extremely skittish unlike the spotted hyena. The aardwolf eats termites exclusively so its not really competing with its fellow hyenas. Out of the family of four subspecies only the spotted hyena forms permanent hyena packs known as cackles. The others only get together during breeding season and to raise the offspring.
Just like the hyenas who actually have the highest kill rate per hunt (around 80%) out of all the predators in Africa. In fact it's lions who scavenge off other animals way more than hyenas ever do!

@Umwelt Lol Lions are built long fights but not long sprints, it's their reputation, In this case they are not too far away from the Hyenas, they hyenas even starting backing away as soon as they saw the Lions even though they were far away so the actual reason they walked slowly was to identify the situation and assess the surroundings, you can see two lions walking towards them and then sprint to divide and break up the hyenas ganging up on the other lion. It's a common hunting tactic but in this instant it's more of an ambush tactic and it was just enough to protect their kill and help out the lion. Oh and next time, don't be a dick and a know it all just from a simple UA-cam vid, peace! :D

The lion wasn't really cornered. He had an animal carcass and hyenas wanted it, but he didn't want to leave it, so they tried to force him out, but other lionesses joined. Vulture was there for the same reason :D

@@jnx4803 I rewatched. I am no lion expert but that lion does look a lot different. Skull is bigger in proportion to body and I guess I see a hint of a mane. So I am going to defer to you on this. @@oren8462 they're phylogenetically closer and similar to felines. But I know they're not really cat colloquially speaking but cat like. So they're more cats to me than a dog. Because in this thread we compared them to cats and or dogs only so I chose them to be part of the cats.
@IntelliPocalypse yes they are. Morphologically and behavioral aspects they kinda look like dogs because of convergent evolution but phylogenetically analyses say they're more related to cats.
They're also related to viverrids and look like bears too.
