    The evaluation on Dorsey from people inside the Bills organization is apparently that he's super bright and gifted at developing a gameplan and scheming dudes open. But he struggled to make in game adjustments when DCs take away his coverage beaters. Also that he didn't really help give Allen easy answers, something that Joe Brady was able to do much better. I think that Dorsey and Stefanski could be a good marriage cuz we know Stefanski is still playcaller, which makes me think Dorsey is gonna me mostly focusing on QB coach duties. I think he can thrive in that role as we've seen. Also he provides a background with shotgun run game that we struggled with last year. Kevin will finally have someone, probably two coaches with Rees, up in the box that he can trust. Both Dorsey and Rees are ex QBs with big game playcalling experience. Excited to see what this new staff cooks up. Curious who we are gonna have replace Callahan now that he's gone

    Dorsey’s biggest issue was his inability (honestly more so unwillingness) to make changes during the game based on what the defense was giving him. He would go into games wanting to play a certain way regardless of who they were playing and rather than targeting the defenses weaknesses he wanted to run things the way he wanted and refused to adjust in game if it wasn’t working. If the Browns can force that stubbornness out of him then he should do just fine in Cleveland but the question is… can they?

    Great vid as always. History will show this will be the turning point. As long as Chubb is at least 80% of what he was he’d still be a top 10 RB and we get one more dynamic “ball carrier” like you’ve been saying….skys the limit

    I agree with you call for needing more playmakers on offense. Cooper is getting older and shouldn't be expected to be our only guy at WR. I'm truly believing that Cedric Tillman will make a gigantic leap this year. We were confident enough to let peoples-jones go. I believe Tillman can become a very solid and steady number 2 WR to pair with cooper and Njoku.

    • @joericottone
      @joericottone  5 місяців тому

      The promising thing about Tillman is that it seems that it's only the mental side of the game that's limiting him. He has all the tools, very strong hands, he just can't line up correctly and adjust on the fly - year 2 should erase a lot of that

    It's interesting to see the developments since this video was made one of which is Watson getting another weapon in Jerry Jeudy. It will be interesting to see if the same trend continues for him that it has for Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore. In a ten-year career Cooper had his best and third-best seasons as a Brown, and Moore had the most yards of his career with Cleveland. Jeudy's career-high is 972 yards and if he can follow suit the Browns' passing attack could be very formidable with Cooper, Jeudy, Njoku, and Moore.

    Ken Dorsey is a good OC, his problems weren't game planning it was play calling during he game. Problem with Dorsey he was following a offensive genius, Brian Daboll is in the class of Andy Reid when it came to play calling. Just look at the last game Daboll and Allen shared the 13 second game. Allen Daboll went toe to toe with Mahomes Reid and gave Buffalo the lead with 13 seconds left the offense never saw the field again that game.

    Bills fan-Dorsey was a good coach who did great considering he was a first time play-caller. His philosophy didn’t mesh well with Allen and the Bills’ offensive personnel; it happens. He did struggle with adjustments, but that is one of the hardest parts about being a coordinator. Also, the Bills players made a ton of mistakes and turned the ball over a ton, which, in large part, led to his firing. Lastly, if you ask me, he was a victim of Daboll’s leftovers. Daboll was very overrated, and Dorsey was essentially forced to run his system. I will always have a soft spot for him and wish him nothing but the best in Cleveland!

  • @dylanshobbies8794

    Nah Dorsey was the issue lol, he was great at scheming for the opening drives but he couldn’t make adjustments to counter dc adjusting. He also was bad at stringing along complimentary plays especially run plays, he also could not give the qb any easy layup plays

    Everyone forgets Goodell has delayed DeShaun and screwed the Browns for 11 games! He's only played 12 games in 2 seasons. He's 8-4. Goodell knew this would have an impact.., NFL couldn't afford DeShaun to hit the ground running. Period.

    A, Ken Dorsey is a fantastic Qb coach and play designer however as a play caller he lacks in game adjustments and became predictable. Something you failed to mention is that Ken Dorsey’s time as Bills offensive coordinator was his first time calling plays at any level. There’s a difference between designing plays and gamelan and calling them. I believe If Ken Dorsey primarily focuses as a Qb coach / play designer this could be a great hire. If Ken Dorsey calls plays this could be a bad hire

    The fact that the browns dumped coaches after an 11-6 season is mystifying. They threw the last game, so they could have been 12-5. They didn't show up for the Playoff game. I'll never understand this franchise. Grab an OC that got fired halfway through the season. Geez...
