A Big Mac is 550 calories and one of the most popular fast food options out there. Today we're going to see how long it takes to burn off the Big Mac using a bodybuilding bro split. One of us will work out chest, one of us will work out shoulders and we'll see who can do it first. HERE WE GO.

I don't care if the calorie burning watch tracker is inaccurate. This is a fun segment and I think you should keep developing it.
You only don't care because you don't realize how inaccurate it actually is when it comes to resistance training. You can be glad if you burn off 40% of what it's saying.

@@dominic.h.3363 This video is trying to prove that it's so insane to be able to work off the calories from your favorite junk foods. They have proven that fact and made it easy to watch. This is great visual for people trying to lose weight and stop themselves from eating empty calories. I'm not saying the segment is perfect. That's exactly why I said they should keep *developing* this idea.
Makes you realize how efficient the human body is too.
If you were to make this a series it would probably be one of the most popular fitness series on UA-cam!

this is such a unique video idea I love it!!
My colleagues, Helen Dixon and Charles Abrahams, have been developing a labelling system for discretionary foods that tell people both how much energy they contain and how much extra walking would be needed to burn that energy off. The initial studies show people choosing smaller cakes to have with their coffees. An energy figure is too abstract but '20 minutes of walking' vs '40 minutes of walking' is meaningful. Best advice for people is probably to have the coffee and cake AFTER the workout or walk.

@@TheHalfmanofOz They are doing great work. The team I'm in is also involved in finding ways to provide people with information they can easily put to use to optimise their health. We don't like saying NEVER DO THIS, except for crunches and behind the neck pull downs.

I was thinking the same thing haha, but honestly I don't think he will - they aren't exactly saying you 'should' burn calories like this, that it's as good or better than cardio - its just a for fun challenge, so there isn't much to be upset about. Though he may contest the amount of calories burned being overestimated - but again this is just all for fun, so it's hard to say that this is even intended to be taken very seriously.

This might be one of the best practical showcases of dieting and working out. For all the noobies out there this might actually give them the example that they need. It's easy to come across information but to get the understanding if that info is actually true or not, it takes practice - this types of videos definitely deliver in that aspect. Good job.

Solid series idea. I'm interested to see how something like boxing or Brazilian jiujitsu (recommend Chewjitsu, Nick aka Chewy would be super into this)
I lost 130+lbs over 8 years ago. I had no idea what do as far as workouts. Your at home dumbbells series and backyard workout videos helped me out big time. Today I still workout everyday and my eating/diet has evolved. From drinking alcohol and pizza to vegetarianism and consuming spirulina/chlorella/marine phytoplankton. I just finished a book by Dr. Jerry Tennet: Healing is Voltage. This journey was a crazy one, but The Buff Dudes had a huge part in my goal. Now I’m going to hit some iron and run for a bit. Thank you for your channel!

Yo thanks for the videos guys. I jumped back into the gym after a long absence and ended up wrecking my back on dead-lifts and now my knee is acting up lol. 34 years old and falling apart. I got your mobility work out book and few others to keep me motivated. Do you guys have a video on a more rehab oriented routine for those of us who waited to long to get back into the gym?

One of the best parts is the time difference. 2 minutes to eat 550 calories, and nearly an hour of work. That is not even considering that it is deficient in nutrients but high in calories, that would be interesting to incorporate too, then again I am a power nerd :=)

This is a great reminder for sure, especially if you think that calories trackers are very unprecise and often overstimate your calorie consumption by a lot (even 40% sometimes)
