I got 215 hours on my 2024 TE 300. Runs like new. The only service item other than consumables ( tires, brake pads, air filter) is that the Crankcase Pressure sensor, a $50 part, needs replacing when performance begins to deteriorate. I’ve replaced 2 so far. Takes 15 minutes. The new gen stiffer frame and excellent open chamber fork work together to deliver less deflection, more precision. The suspension is so good that most riders will only need the correct springs for rider weight, saving a lot of money vs a revalve. Look for prices to drop significantly due to KTM’s money problems and huge inventory overstock situation. I’ve bought 8 new enduro bikes in the last ten years and this one is the best. For your sloppy trails I recommend the IRC VE 33S with Tubliss for the rear wheel. Changing the 45 tooth stock rear sprocket to a 48 makes the bike perfect in the steeps and gnar, and you don’t need a longer chain.
Well stated! The bike is a great buy and a great performer. There was a VE 33S on the rear when I was riding this bike. It’s a great tire for the trails that we ride. I do agree that could benefit from the gearing change that you recommended. Thanks for watching and for providing your feedback!
Another great video...thanks for the time and info! No mercy from Skip running through the mud on your Beta, lol. I could imagine you cringing, and it made my day.
Thanks for the review! Pros and cons to PDS vs. linkage - it depends on what you ride. I have both a KTM (PDS) and a GasGas (linkage). I like the linkage better at higher speeds, as it feels more planted and is more tolerant to bad setup and technique. At lower speeds the PDS feels a little more nimble, but the linkage feels like it provides better traction. In gnarly terrain, the PDS has more ground clearance, but I honestly don't find that my linkage gets caught on anything if I'm using a modern skid plate, and personally being able to dab (even at 5'11") is more important to me than the very rare occasion that I get stuck due to ride height.
That’s a great summary on the differences. The linkage feels better at speed or on jumps or drop offs. Nice to have the extra ground clearance of the PDS on the big rocks, but I also agree that I don’t tend to get hung up on the linkage. Thanks for watching him commenting.
It is nice to be able to put your foot down, and for my case get your damn leg over the bike. I love the ground clearance and ease of maintenance on the xcw too, but have yet to hear anyone we ride with getting stuck on a rock b/c of the linkage. 🎉
Appreciate the efforts. Would have been nice to see these bikes on terrain they are made for. We all have to ride two track from time to time but I think this location didn't lend much to this "comparison". How many hours on the Beta and what were the other guy's impressions? Do it again but ride them in the nasty stuff. I'd be glad to tune in again. Thanks!
Take a look at our other videos there’s plenty of good single track in those videos where you can see the bikes perform and compare. For the most part all of these 300 2 strokes are nearly equivalent and most of it boils down to the rider and the rider’s preferences. Both the beta 300 race edition and the husky TE 300 Were great in the faster open track and also perform in all of the other terrain that we ride including the harder Enduro stuff. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Also take a look at the videos on our channel. There’s plenty of beta reviews from my 24 300 RR race edition, including the mods that I’ve done to it and also comparison to the XCW along with some 24XCW reviews, lots of good riding videos to show the bikes in their natural habitats. My beta has 75 hours on it now the best mod has been the suspension upgrades and I love the bike. Let me know what you think.
Don’t disagree with ya Buzz. Dons right, we do 95% of our riding on singletrack. Somehow we do random reviews and first rides at Ben Franklin. We’ll do a f/u review next time we’re out. We have a great representation of the newer bikes, so stay tuned for a side by side by side by side comparison! Thanks!

Hard today with so many good choices. You really can find the nuances that best mesh with your ride style. I have the xcw and xc and did own a TE for a year, all great bikes. My xcw is stock, no mods to the motor, pipe or tune but I did turn the PV out and that made it significantly more snappy. My xc was a monster out of the box and then a map update from the dealer seem to de-nut it down low so I add the TSP head and tune and recently the TSP PV cover. This last mod was where the magic happened. It was good, then better and now it's freaking amazing with the cover. Feels very carb like. My buddy's TM (carb) is so good off the bottom coming out of corners and that was the feeling I was looking for and now have. My xc is so nimble at any rpm and absolutely rips.
That’s a great result with that tsp head. XC and xcw is a great combo. I have the beta re and a 350xcf. It’s fun to switch between the two for different types of riding. N+1. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@Weekendwarriorsmoto My xc is a '23 MY and the original tune was really good, rich enough to have good bottom end and even more up top. The second update was even better but the third was to soft on the bottom. While the TSP tune and head restored what it was under the second map the PV cover brought it all together to have a very carb like feel. Extremely playful on the trail and very tractable.
The place we were riding is called Ben Franklin range. It’s not somewhere that we normally ride and most of the trails are double track like what you saw in the video mostly we ride single track otherwise
I came off a beta as well and do think the beta bottom end is more grunt. My new te 300 pro is awesome just feels electronic and different kind of powerband.awesome bike though .. at this point all new bikes are pretty damn good and what’s more important is just our rider skill . Hahahha
You’re right about that. Any of these new bikes are great and it just comes down to minor preferences and rider. I love the looks of that pro. Thanks for watching!
I wouldn't throw a TE out of bed, but I prefer the feel and ride height of the XCw. Also, its time for shock service and while its out I pull the swingarm to lube the bearings. The PDS system is simpler and easier to work with.
I have had my Beta since 2021 and will never go back to KTM Brands. The only other bikes I would consider would be the Sherco 300 or the nee Rieju 300, I will always keep my Beta though it is so smooth and tractors and has plenty of power with a FMF Fatty on it. Love it

I’m on same bike, same tire, with plush nitromousse. 165 hours. Great machine, zero problems. A nice improvement from my 21 TE300i.
It's actually a closed cart fork.

Hahaha. Skip was riding my bike like a rental. Only the water crossings had me a little nervous 😀

That’s awesome. I’d like to give an XC a try and those mods sound perfect. The closer to a carb feel, the better.
@@Weekendwarriorsmoto Probably time that I do a fulsome review of the bike with the mods I have now. Future video perhaps.
Whats difference in 250 and 300 ,coming off 125x,don’t mind a little snap ,
250 will feel snappier and lighter. 300 is more luggable and great low end power. Thanks for watching!
I need a bike. I dunno what to get
First, figure out what type of riding you want to do. There are a lot of good options. Thanks for watching!
was this the trail to the trails or is this what you guys ride?

White map is slouch compared to green. Looks like your in white map but not sure camera does funny tricks sometimes????
Yeah, I started off by mistake in white but then switched to green. Green map is best. Thanks for watching!

Mike, I agree with the simplicity of the pds for maintenance. I go back and forth on the ride height. Both have advantages.

Seems like lots of people feel that way about the betas. I’ve ridden the Sherco 300 and it wasn’t for me. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@
What is a code 300?
Sorry was using voice to text 😀. The Sherco 300 wasn’t to my liking.
gearing is 13 -45 unless he changed it way tall
Yeah, I wasn’t sure when riding it. Thanks!
