As much as I'd love a third Necrophagist album, Muhammed has a stable, lucrative career outside the musical realm and a bulletproof artistic legacy within it. He'd be a fool to mess with either of those.

Only made 2 albums, did a TOOL on the entire planet for planning a release but a third album never came. But man. Did those 2 albums impress a lot of people, including myself. I love me some metal but I am not super fond of the death metal genre...... But this guitar work is out of this world.

You need to know some old guys like Michael Angelo Batio. Look at his technique. If he played brutal death metal it would be very cool, but death metal doesn't make any money and you have to eat every day.

I hear a lot of people comparing Muhammed to Schuldiner which isn't fair. Sculdiner wrote 8 eight masterpiece albums before he was 31 years old, this guy writes 2 solid awesome album and has yet to follow it up in 9 years....talk about blowing your load.
This guy must have been asked about a new album so many times that it must be approaching mental torment...so he should just give in and release a new album, surely?

As a frequently soloing guitarist, I feel like his lead playing consists of meticulously pre-learned neoclassical phrases broken up with noodling on some basic single notes while wondering "OMG what do I play next", then a technical lick again. Not particularly musical of him

So to put it in a simpler form: Muhammad wrote the solos on ignominious, diminished and symbiotic in theory.
The dude has got a lot of good solos and riffs but I just think why the fuck is he not doing albums anymore? I know I read they were close to finish their new album for this year but that will be bullshit
