your ranking list is really helpful for my future upgrade from my performer 8 , l think l will get the Pilgrim or the Oriveti 700vb either one seems are fantastic iems , Thank You for all the reviews in your channel Cheers !
Thank you for your nice rewivew, although I disagree that boring is bad. I usually prefer boring as a "default' tuning and I like to add the extra 'spice' depending on my mood and song with EQ. As removing the spice is harder than adding it in tbh, and when I want to just causally listen it sometimes gets fatiguing for me. Mostly taking about the Mega5est in this case btw.
@@Jaytiss For sure, although I believe almost all electrostatic iems are overpriced. But I do feel like I hear a tangible different, even when EQed to the best of my abilities to the same FR compared to set with BA's for the upper treble
I agree EST drivers do sound better. I have heard some BA iems that sound really good in the upper trebble. It can happen, but my favorite 3 iems are all EST iems.
The tuning for the Pilgrim is quite similar to my favourite IEM so far, the Thieaudio Elixir which is why I'm quite interested in it. Thanks for the review.
That's going to be a hard choice, i want to upgrade my Chopin. I'm debating between this, the hype 4 and DaVinci, unless something else comes out of nowhere. I like bassy and detailed iems.
I run the Elysian Annihilator 2023 also but it is #2 in my IEM's list, I think you should try the Alpha/Omega: OMEGA, It is the most beautiful sounding IEM/headphone/speaker I have ever had the pleasure to hear... Thanks for this review, I did order the Noir the other day for the bass.
Hi Jay , Dave-Audio In Review, mentioned the mids are Richer and the body of note weight is better on the Pilgrim slightly more sparkle on the Pilgrim too , the bass may not be as good as the Hype 4 , do you agree with that ? Thank You ! I care more about the quality of texture and body weight of the Vocal ! Not into too much bass , it can be fatigue in long session of listening to me.
I disagree a bit. Both Hype 4 and Pilgrim have fantastic bass. I think the Pilgrim has more sparkle and detail, while the Hype 4 has less brightness and more forward vocals. Both are fantastic sets for the price, and just extremely impressive. I'd recommend demoing both, they both have minor flaws being too much brightness and a slight U shape to Pilgrim, while the Hype 4 has off upper trebble which affect hi hats and cymbal strikes.
@@Jaytiss l always do blind buys , base on reviewers recommendations, the cheaper IEMs l disliked badly included, Olina SE , S12 pro , and Galileo, none of them are smooth to me , my favourite ones are blon03, urbanfun 004 ,Toneking Shockwave lll , and Performer 8. The Hype4 can be skip for their long wait up to 6-8 weeks for universal fit not custom fit a waste of time. The Pilgrim will fit me perfectly or the Oriveti oh700vb for my next upgrade Thank You.
@@Jaytiss I've been buying and selling tons of gear since I can't go to these shows. I've tried the Annis 23 and Diva 23. Gaea otw maybe tomorrow or Monday. I'll give these and the Pilgrim Noir a try when I can.
how is it compared vs monarch mk3 in terms of bass, vocals and comfort? the mmk3 is relatively on the bigger end and not so comfy. happy to be a subscriber, you always review the good and recent stuff with relevant comparisons, amazing.
@@Jaytiss if not for comfort, is the mmk3 miles ahead or nah? i like the mmk3 but comfort is meh so cant enjoy it so much. i care about vocals mostly, after that bass. mmk3 does have nice bass and nice vocals, wonder if the pilgrim can replace it. i would favor comfort for say less technicality. wdyt?
Could you review the 7hz aurora? Other s say it has good technicalities, good for gaming and i fell like it could be a bit worse than the pilgrim but hey you never know(they are the same price tag)
I can't recommend that. Honestly for value the Aful Explorer is nice. The Auriora is too mid focused with zero bass. I did a video on it, but it I ended up deleting it due to poor performance.
@@Jaytiss Hmm the tuning on 7hz stuff doesn't seem to be the best out of the box. Wish they could have tuned it better, then people would have hyped it to no end
@@Jaytissbro I think your aurora may have been defective(which is even worse)because from what I've heard the bass is actually supposed to be good on the aurora. If this is a qc issue then 7hz may have to look into it.
To listen to Metal, in your preferences of course, did you like it more than the Hype 4 in terms of perhaps the impact and speed of the bass and crunch of the guitars? Thanks and great review!
It sounds good when you put it to the Anniliator EQ. My guess is they would have had a few things different but sometimes it's tough to get the exact tune we might want.
Hey i have the moondrop variations, and be looking for quite a sidegrade. Should i get these or hype 4? Or should i take other things that are significantly cheaper than $300?
Thanks as always Jay. Your ranking graph has gotten better and better bud! I’m going to pass on the pilgrim though just bc of timbre. Keep it up brother🤙

Much appreciated.
5 months down the road, crazy how the Pilgrim fell off to top50-something in your tierlist.
It’s a good set, but not my favorite. It’s a wild hobby.

That’s fair. I think mega5est is a good iem, but I think it’s overpriced.
@@Jaytiss For sure, although I believe almost all electrostatic iems are overpriced. But I do feel like I hear a tangible different, even when EQed to the best of my abilities to the same FR compared to set with BA's for the upper treble
Which isn't extremely good, as meserements up on the highs as we know aren't very accurate

I think it's a solid set, very few issues with it.
@@Jaytiss Hopefully I can demo it one day before buying, it does look pretty promising and it'll be my endgame.
Please demo it first. It’s a good set, but not perfect.
Fair review based on your preferences. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Good vid Jaytiss, thanks for sharing the opinions!!

Glad you enjoyed! thanks for watching!

Hype 4 is exactly what you are looking for I’d say.
Hype 4 is a better item to me. But it’s very slight.
I like the same and Hype 4 is awesome. Alternatively you can try Xenns Top or Dunu SA6 MK2 (has a bass switch and the BA bass sounds like DD for me).

@@Jaytiss Gaeas are really good btw. You probably might not like them tho. Very forward and crazy treble. They're super fun tho.
Thanks for the review, but based on my observation on Canjam SG, I found Noir is much more fun (hence more bass) compared to standard pilgrim.
Thanks for the comparison!

I think so for metal, it’d be great.
What happens when you choose the eylisian tuning from poweramp EQ on this? It has the house sound so it should work out
It sounds good when you put it to the Anniliator EQ. My guess is they would have had a few things different but sometimes it's tough to get the exact tune we might want.
The audio in this video is quite low, in Build Quality Graph section Volume is good though, Dunno why🤨/ BTW is Diva much better than Pilgrim?
thanks for the heads up. I gotta find a fix for my videos to get their volumes better.

What are you looking for? Like sound profile wise.
@@Jaytiss maybe towards V Shaped tuning
Hi, how would it compete with xenns top in terms of bass, mids and treble, and comfort?
I haven’t heard it.
Ok,thx for answering
If you EQ the Pilgrim to sound more close to the Annihilator, how close do they get?
Like 98%, Eq can do wonders.
@@Jaytiss so detail, soundstage, imaging and dynamics get 98% close after EQ?
Pilgrim looked a bit like Elysian Diva red and blue switches had a baby.
Are the IEMs heavy? Or light like S12? Thanks for the review!
They are super light! Very cozy!
Did you like this or the epz 530 better?
I like this more than the epz 530.
Hey, how do these compare to the moondrop variations ??
I’d go these or hype 4 at that price.
I heard they are set to release this month, any idea if thats true?
I hear May 6th after break.
Thanks for the info!
Anytime!
How does it compare to Dusk?
They are a little more engaging than the dusk to my ears. Dusk isn’t bad but feels a little bland without dsp.

I get it. I would recommend to demo if you get a chance. It’s a fun listen.
Have you tried the Canpur CP662B?
It's on my demo list for sure. I'm going to Can Jam So Cal in a few months and if it's that good, I'll probably try to buy one there.
Most real natural Sounding iem?
Hard to say, my guess is Anniliator or Fat Freq GM.
It is $399.99
You are correct! It’s on alliexpress!
The look reminds me of the ew200
Right? The fit is better.
