I have the same model, 2020, X330, 48" deck and 350 hours. I cut 5.0 acres every week, never had any problems. Runs like a champ, rather a deer! Easy to service! This is my 3rd John Deere. They cost a little more, but they are worth it overall...
I've seen others take the seat switch out and drill a small hole in it and run a screw into it. The screw touches the seat and makes contact with very little pressure on the seat. It's not bypassing it,so it's still gonna shut it off if you were in a rollover or if you fall off. It just makes it less sensitive. The 100 series tractors are made at their plant in Greenville Tennessee. They aren't farmed out to mtd or anyone else, just a different plant. The 300 series is an in between series for folks with decent acreage, but not needing a garden tractor. They're very well built and full of quality.
Great review thank you just moved my e130 to my off grid property and just ordered the s220 42 inch deck 22hp should be ready this week or next week!! Thumbs up!!
Try Unplugging the sensor under the seat. I did this on my husqvarna to stop that from happening. Excellent review, I just ordered the x330 and should have it in November or December.
Since I will be getting an X330 in the spring, it was helpful to see your review to find out the differences from my 7-year-old D140. Also, where did you get the kit to modify the gas can. It's just what I need. Thanks!
When I bought my X330 in 2020, I didn't know that the X380 model existed. I'm pushing 70 and have a lot of back and neck trouble and I cut 5 acres every week. The X330 has a little bit of a bumpy ride-- but the X380 has larger tires and a smoother ride and it is built on the same platform. It also has tilt steering, power steering and a better seat. The X380 would have been a better fit for me, although I have no regrets-- the X330 is a great tractor, with plenty of power! I cut grass full speed, with the pedal to the metal, no kidding-- and it does a fantastic job. I also have the 48" mower deck. I was using the original blades until I ran over a rock and took a chunk out of one of the blades. I bought the set of 3, but only needed to change the broken blade. The other 2 blades were still in very good shape. I could have easily gone through another season, without sharpening if it weren't for that rock! Prior to this tractor, I had an X172. It lasted 24 years. I'm guessing, but it had to have at least 10,000 hours. It ran great until it finally died.
Two comments; 1) If you have long runs you will learn to like that cruise button. I laughed at it too but have learned to like it; 2) All JD lawn tractors are made by Deere. The X series are made in Horicon, WI and the 'box store' models (The E, S, L, LA, D & whatever) are or were made in Greenville, TN.
Dont believe the warranty. I took mine to my local dealer for a possible engine oil leak and they said it was a charge to me because they found nothing wrong.
Hey, I rigged two wire jumpers, one for rio switch, and the other for the seat on my X330--works perfectly --ends hassle on seat situation, and mowing while backing-up.
1.2 hrs on your hour meter? You should change the title to " Why I purchased this John Deere." Now that a couple of years have passed you can do a worth while review.
To be Honest I am a Briggs and Strat Guy. But when I compared the 2. No difference in tractor except the Engine. The Kaw had a little less HP. But the X330 with Briggs and Strat Engine was A few hundred less in price. And little more HP.
The dealer I talked to said that the Briggs and Stratton Cyclonic, which is what’s on the X330, is giving Kawasaki a run for their money. So that particular Briggs and Stratton is a good motor. But I’ve never had an issue out of any of the Briggs and Strattons I’ve owned. They’ve all performed well
Research, do not just listen to someone who may be ignorant when comparing engines from the X330 to the X350. Personally found the extra HP to be useful living on a hill. Plus any engine is worthless, if you do not take care of it.

Just picked one up on 24 March 2022. Haven't used it yet but the weekend is here so I'll be on it Saturday.

Probably depends on the dealership. Some Dealerships can be fairly shady.

How's it on the hills if you have any?
It does well on hills.
Great review, John Deere rocks
Thanks 👍

I just got the X350 with the Kawasaki engine dealer said it’s a better engine by far . 🤷
