Wow, I've owned my 370Z now for 6 years, only needed tires, and I just had them mount and balanced them for me. Dude, did you buy your Z off a Salvage lot?!
I bought a 2009 370z with 64k miles on it in April of 2016. After over a year and 9k miles, I have had only one issue with the car which was a loose battery terminal and mount (previous owner failed install). Two zipties and some foil fixed that issue and the car has been flawless since. I have replaced the warped front rotors that came with the car, all brake pads, engine + tranny + diff fluids but that's all labeled as planned maintenance. Very reliable cars if you buy them once the previous owner has dealt with the initial issues (CSC, steering lock, possible oil consumption, etc) in the first 35k miles. Parts aren't much more expensive than other Japanese import cars aside from headlights ($700 a piece). Taxes were $580 and insurance for under 25 year old male clean record is ~$1,100 per year for full coverage.
for any young person thinking about buying this car, my insurance is $320 a month. i haven't gotten a ticket in over 4 years but I've had 2 reckless tickets and 3 speeding tickets when i first got my license, I'm almost 22 now so I'm going to take driving school to hopefully bring it down. moral of the story: dont drive like an idiot and you will be able to afford nice things. (also not die)
Im 24 years old and had my license when i was 19. I went to a dealership to get a 2016 370z and the monthly price was ok but the INSURANCE is what stopped me from getting it. They were asking $330 month for the car on top of me paying $450 a month on the car. It didnt make sense to me why it was that expensive

Just so you know you can get a gtr with a very similar insurance and gas milage, you would only have to pay an extra 70.000 for the car which should be quite easy since a house is pretty easy to sell.

You should learn how to fix your car! I own the nismo, and i had the power steering issue, I bought a used power steering pump from a totaled 370z with 12k miles for $100 and changed it myself, along with a $10 power steering fluid, so $110 fix, you just gotta have the right tools, but its nothing hard.

I mean how old is the car and how much mileage did it have? I'm glad I have my 2012 Corolla. So far zero repairs in 7 years. $45 oil changes and $30 to fill the tank.
Look at it like this the issues you were having with the power steering actually exposed other issues that needed to be addressed.. They are now repaired at a one time expense since the repairs and replacement parts have been done. So for one time cost you practically had your power steering, serpentine or alternator drive belt replaced, as well as, a new battery. That should safely get you down the road for awhile and that beautiful car is in your hands so can make sure she is respected and taken care of.. Beautiful car brother!! I love my 2020 Nissan 370Z Touring Sport as much you love your 370Z...
if had minimum coverage n were older than 30 man u be paying like 25-40 bucks a month.....assuming had very few tickets n no accidents man sucks when ur young.
To be honest, it won't be that much more than a regular car. It also depends if you have a heavy foot or not or if you can do some of the repairs yourself, like the engine belts. That repair is very simple and doesn't take very long if you are somewhat mechanically inclined. The cost to fun factor is also better. I like to look at smiles per gallon as a factor as well. My Z has treated me well over the 12 years that I've owned it even though it's a 350z. The 370z should not be any different and will last you a while if you take care of it.
I have an '05 350 Roadster with 83K (bought with 36K in '12). Had minor electrical issues $300 and recently had to replace wheel bearings for right rear $2-300, if I remember. Other than that just normal wear and tear maintenance so far - tires, brakes, battery, oil. Still love the car. BTW my mechanic at Precision Z - awesome garage, google 'em - in LA says to stay away from '09-'12 370s if possible, tho I can't remember exactly why due to old age (mine).
The normal issues with a 350Z within 100K miles are replacing the water pump, timing chain, and tensioner. It is not uncommon for the AC compressor to start becoming noisy at 100K miles. Another issue is leaking valve cover gaskets, especially the little ones that keep oil out of the spark plug holes. If you have a manual transmission, you'll most probably need a clutch. All brake rotors will fail by 100K miles. (They can go sooner if you are hard on brakes) You will also most probably go through two to three sets of tires in 100K miles. If you have all this done at a shop, you are looking at around $8,000 . Parts alone will run you around $3,900. Oops, I forgot the driver's side power window motor and the starter.. Add another $300 for the parts. Triple that if you have them replaced at a shop. These cars are not cheap to operate, but neither is any other car. My Honda Accord needs it's timing belt changed every 90K along with all seals and the water pump. It also had the good old automatic transmission fail at 109K. Exhaust manifolds like to crack around 100K on 4 cyl Hondas. Suffice it to say, driving is NOT cheap. The average sedan costs around $0.35 a mile to drive. The 350Z is around $0.40 a mile to drive. But it is a true sports car.

Power steering hose was probably 200+ alone, then you have to replace the fluid and bleed the air out of the system. He also mentioned that they replaced the acc belt at the same time which was a good idea if it has never been changed. Not a bad price if the work was done by a competent tech.
Korrupted really? I'm just surprised at the home's cost then. I figured hoses were relatively cheap. Do they not have to do a lot of the same labor for the pump replacement? Of course, I don't know what they had to do to reach whichever hose it was.

I've owned 2 370z's and I have never had any issues with them. My cost of ownership: Insurance: Mine is about $1,800 per year (I'm 29 with a with a few speeding tickets). Gas: It's my daily driver and I fill up about once a week which costs about $40-$50. Tires: $180-$250 per tire, which I find I have to replace about every 20k miles. Maintenance: Only things I've ever had to do was just the regular oil/fluid changes. Those are the only costs I can think of that I had to pay. It's a really decent car and doesn't cost much to maintain.
I have had my 16 Nismo for 7 months, It had a fresh oil change, free, I have changed it once since. It had 6k on it and has 11k on it now. The car is amazing, there is no comparison to any car unless you are looking at a Porsche. I pay $67 per month for full coverage. My 7 months of ownership has cost me $1200 tax, $600 gas, $490 Ins, $40 oil. $2330 total for 7 months. Also one thing to note is at the drag strip I ran a quarter mile in 13.2 seconds! Your mustang may beat me in the quarter but on a road course I will own you!
idk what country you're in but my cost for 6 months is a lot cheaper, there is not tax on the car, i haven't needed any repairs, maintenance was about 150 for me, 3rd party insurance that protects you in crashes only (not theft/fire) was about 325 and fuel is about 720. So in 6 months (excluding the killswitch i installed) the car has cost me around 1195, less than your tax alone.

I myself am the proud owner of a 2014 black cherry touring sport roadster that I purchased last May from PHL with only 11k miles on it. It truly is a VERY AMAZING car!!!! I've only put 2k miles on it since then. It still smells new. I don't see very many convertible 370zs but a ton of 350z's. Everyone one wants to talk about the car. Heads DO turn??
My Z sadly has been costly so far. Need a rebuilt transmission since my 7AT has been slipping. Also just replaced map sensor , fuel pump, did oil, brakes, and new tires. Not cheep at all lol. And I have a 11
Love the FairladyZ. I picked up the 2016 370z Nismo-Tech for about $48,000. Sales tax was over $3,000 or so. BUT I have had this car for a year now and not needed one repair. I hate that you've had so many issues with yours. I pay about $112 a month for full coverage thru esurance. SWITCH over! $230 is pretty steep for insurance and im only 2 years older than you (27). Give esurance a call. State Farm was gonna charge be about $240. But keep at it man. Love the Z.
If you couldn't afford to maintain it, then why purchase it? Sounds like you bought a used lemon. Purchased my 05 350Z new off the lot. With over 110K I haven't had any of these issues. Sounds like the stealership just saw you coming.
Been working for nissan for a while now and I've never seen most of these issues actually happen on the 370z. Most expensive thing to usually happen on these cars is tires. They're pretty solid cars. Sounds like you got the runaround.. find a new dealer PRONTO. If they made you pay $600+ and it didn't fix you're problem and the they tacked on more fees.. shady af.
People might think that he must be unlucky, but this things actually happen, 3 months after I purchased my 370z my antilock system failed $1400 to repair it! :/ other than that my Z is running great now. Oil change are cheap, repairs are expensive.

i thought fuel was going to be the killer for my 350z, but its not too bad.The thing I'm always spending $$ on is car washes/supplies...and since I have a roadster the car washes are all by hand....but I 100% agree its all worth it

I can relate. I have a 2010 40th anniversary edition and my clutch was going out and tranny is going out then car battery then my door locks started not to work with the remote. Then steering columns needed to replaced thank god it was covered by Nissan do to recall. Great video
You completely left out the greatest cost of car ownership--depreciation. Depreciation is just like taking your hard earned money (that you're presumably paying interest on), and making it vanish into thin air.
oh and you might be interested, i quoted full coverage for a 370z (im 23), with nationwide, and it was 127$/m, and they called me and said they could lower it if it would get me to switch to there insurance

The insurance does seem to be a bit high but otherwise I haven't had to do anything besides oil changes. The tires will be expensive once they wear out though.
Thanks for the video! I have an old Volvo I bought that is dying. It was a temporary car until I got the funds together for another one. Anyway, I was looking at a Z because Nissan has a decent reputation as far as reliability, but a friend of mine who's a mechanic and an old Z owner (240 I believe) told me to do my research on the car as the Zs can have problems. So far it looks like I'm going to go back to my Corvettes after all. I guess, there is no such thing as a trouble free sports car. Still, they are a hell of a lot of fun to drive!
09 g37 90k miles on the odo currently one year into ownership. I have to replace the front end links and that's it, so $150 but let's be real car is 10 years old bushings and end links tend to wear around then. Sounds like your first 6 months was rough.
Over $1000 in repairs in the first 6 months? Holy sh**. This is why I found a good mechanic and I have every potential new car inspected by them. I know a fair amount, but I'm not a professional. I pay $40 for a pre-buy inspection, and so far it has saved me thousands...
Like you said, it varies from person to person and depending where you live. Some at 25 or older will probably only have to pay half of that, and if you can do the maintenance and stuff yourself, even less.
All the 370z owners on youtube are so proud they make it to 100k miles. As someone looking to pick up a used one, I sure hope to get a lot more out of a car than that. You guys aren't making me feel too confident about investing my money in one of these. If I pick one up used with 70k miles on it (which are going for $14-$16k), It had better last me to at least 175k miles. Thats 100k miles of expected use for $16k. So thats 6.25 miles of expected use for every thousand I spent on it. Thats still not great. But if a z owner is LUCKY to get to 100k miles, then that same z with 70k miles would only have about 30k expected useful miles left in it. Putting it at 1.875 miles of expected use per thousand spent. Thats teeeeeerrrrible. Answers, quickly, before my dreams go up in a cloud of exhaust!
I'm confused....usually the car is under warranty for several thousand miles and you aren't responsible for paying all of this. In fact, you could bring it back in and get it replaced...
I have an 09 Nismo and it has cost me exactly $0.00 in any sort of repairs. Z is only costly in tires. It eats them pretty quick. I was lucky to get 25k miles out of my rear. Front look like it will make it till 30k.
Sounds like me when I bought my 300srt8 used from a lot. I feel like you have to find these cars from a private owner who actually takes care of their car. I loved my 300 srt8 but also hated the debt it put me in. I learned my lesson though
1200 in tax is nothing mine will be around 3-3500 in California on a 24k buy ... dont fill up a full tank if you are around town, liquid weighs alot and your mpg will increase.

Bought my 2014 Z with 8k miles about 2 years ago and Zero issues.. I guess I don't daily it so maybe that's why but I'm at 23k miles and drives like new
You know that they purposely told you the wrong thing ?!..... they fixed the power steering hoses that was fine to begin with and told you what actually was going on the second time.......... they got you good !
I absolutely mean no offense here, but this is a shining example of why it is good to have some wrench-turning experience! That's about $800-1000 you could've saved had you known how to do it! I know not everyone has friends or family that can teach them to work on cars, but it's always great to learn somewhere, even if it's self-taught or by watching a video on here!

I bought my 370z in December 2015 at 71k miles.. only unexpected maintenance was for a heater hose that burst.Came to about $150 for parts and labor. You either somehow got a lemon or got played by mechanics
Your insurance is super high. That's way more then what I pay on my E92 M3. Anyways, I also had a 370Z as a my second car. I would pay about 70$ a month. Full coverage. Look at a other insurance companies. Statefarm wanted 140$ a month and Allstate wanted about 90$. I'm currently with Geico. I was 23 when I had the 370z and m3. I'm currently 24.
I have an '09 Z34 MT. I've had no problems at all. Except that god damned CSC! It blew up and left me stranded at 18k miles. Thankfully it was still covered by the 3yr/36k mile warranty. Then it blew up AGAIN at 40k miles. This time, not covered. So I had an HD slave from Zspeed and a heavy duty master from RJM installed. Cost me $700 in parts and $600 in labor at a local shop. Thankfully my mechanic said the clutch looks new, so I didn't have to cough up another $1300 for a new clutch and flywheel.

How are you getting 14 mpg ? I have an 2017 Nismo and Im consistently over 23... you bought a sports car with no warranty ? you paid $600+ to have a hose installed ? Are you going to ZDAYZ ? in NC , May 18-21 if so great I'm driving down from VA.
Here in the UK you can't legally even drive a 370z until you're 25+ and my insurance came out to about £700 per year. Tax is a killer at £500 a year and fuel.. well.. the note on the fuel lid states to use 97 octane+ which has been costing me about £80-90 to fill her up for one light O_O it's expensive but so worth it!
I have a 370, and part of the requirement for insurance in the UK is that you're over 25. If you're not, you can't get insured and if you're not insured it's illegal :p
Don't know who your insurer is, directline were all too happy to quote me about a grand for a 350z (which in insurance terms is arguably higher risk than a 370z in insurance terms at least). That's going up from a fairly slow diesel
a 350z or a 370z? I only know what I was told mate, and i was told that due to the nature of the vehicle I have to be 25 to drive it by law :P I'm over 25 so it didn't effect me anyway and I don't exactly have a reason to make this up do I? :)
Taxes are inevitable regardless what car you buy so are insurance and fuel. Was the dealer that charged you over $600 for a power steering hose the same dealer that charged you just over $200 for a power steering pump and belt replacement? First of all the dealer should have test drove your car after replacing the power steering hose and realized the issues was not fully resolved. Second the disparity in repair costs between replacing a hose VS replacing a power steering pump and belt makes no sense at all. If you think owning a 370Z is expensive try owning an SLK 55 AMG or Alfa Romeo 4C and getting them serviced by the dealer. I don't know what you are majoring in in college but hopefully when you graduate you will get a home with a garage, buy some tools and learn to work on your own car. Over a lifetime you will save enough to retire comfortably. I like the way you have the tablet hanging from the dash, interesting idea, I might copy cat you on that idea. Hey man... be careful were you take a sports car for repairs. The mechanics will charge you a couple hundred dollars more than the actual price. Simply because it is a sports car they think that you will expect a higher price. In my experience of proudly owning a 2013 370z, I have only spent around $2500 in repairs in over 4 years of ownership (not including oil)
Owned my Z34 for over 1 1/2 years, 6mt DD 20 Yrs old, and never had a problem until my clutch stuck to the floor at the time I got it towed to Nissan and they wanted over 1K to replace the CSC & CMC, I said fuck off and bought the CMC, replaced it and only cost me 120$ for the part and some help from a buddy ! 😁👌🏾
Nothing you said would be different for any other car. You either have really bad luck or let mechanics take you for a ride. I've owned an FRS, 350z, GTI, 370z and have done nothing but annual maintenance and have never had any issues or needed repairs.

bought mine brand new in 2010 I have 56k miles on it and no issues so far still running with original battery

that's a for sure 100% lie unless you are under your parents policies. My wife is 24 and we have to pay $140 a month even if its under her name

My Honda Accord needs it's timing belt changed every 90K along with all seals and the water pump. It also had the good old automatic transmission fail at 109K. Exhaust manifolds like to crack around 100K on 4 cyl Hondas. Suffice it to say, driving is NOT cheap. The average sedan costs around $0.35 a mile to drive. The 350Z is around
$0.40 a mile to drive. But it is a true sports car.
How is a power steering hose ~$600 and the pump is ~$300?!?!? The hose would have killed me, and I probably would be finding another mechanic.

Power steering hose was probably 200+ alone, then you have to replace the fluid and bleed the air out of the system. He also mentioned that they replaced the acc belt at the same time which was a good idea if it has never been changed.
Not a bad price if the work was done by a competent tech.
Korrupted really? I'm just surprised at the home's cost then. I figured hoses were relatively cheap. Do they not have to do a lot of the same labor for the pump replacement? Of course, I don't know what they had to do to reach whichever hose it was.
NF4EVR buy it off on eBay and do it yourself . It's way cheaper

I've owned 2 370z's and I have never had any issues with them.
My cost of ownership:
Insurance: Mine is about $1,800 per year (I'm 29 with a with a few speeding tickets).
Gas: It's my daily driver and I fill up about once a week which costs about $40-$50.
Tires: $180-$250 per tire, which I find I have to replace about every 20k miles.
Maintenance: Only things I've ever had to do was just the regular oil/fluid changes.
Those are the only costs I can think of that I had to pay. It's a really decent car and doesn't cost much to maintain.
what years for your two Zs?
I have had my 16 Nismo for 7 months, It had a fresh oil change, free, I have changed it once since. It had 6k on it and has 11k on it now. The car is amazing, there is no comparison to any car unless you are looking at a Porsche. I pay $67 per month for full coverage. My 7 months of ownership has cost me $1200 tax, $600 gas, $490 Ins, $40 oil. $2330 total for 7 months. Also one thing to note is at the drag strip I ran a quarter mile in 13.2 seconds! Your mustang may beat me in the quarter but on a road course I will own you!

idk what country you're in but my cost for 6 months is a lot cheaper, there is not tax on the car, i haven't needed any repairs, maintenance was about 150 for me, 3rd party insurance that protects you in crashes only (not theft/fire) was about 325 and fuel is about 720. So in 6 months (excluding the killswitch i installed) the car has cost me around 1195, less than your tax alone.

I myself am the proud owner of a 2014 black cherry touring sport roadster that I purchased last May from PHL with only 11k miles on it. It truly is a VERY AMAZING car!!!! I've only put 2k miles on it since then. It still smells new. I don't see very many convertible 370zs but a ton of 350z's. Everyone one wants to talk about the car. Heads DO turn??

My Z sadly has been costly so far. Need a rebuilt transmission since my 7AT has been slipping. Also just replaced map sensor , fuel pump, did oil, brakes, and new tires. Not cheep at all lol. And I have a 11

Love the FairladyZ. I picked up the 2016 370z Nismo-Tech for about $48,000. Sales tax was over $3,000 or so. BUT I have had this car for a year now and not needed one repair. I hate that you've had so many issues with yours. I pay about $112 a month for full coverage thru esurance. SWITCH over! $230 is pretty steep for insurance and im only 2 years older than you (27). Give esurance a call. State Farm was gonna charge be about $240. But keep at it man. Love the Z.
If you couldn't afford to maintain it, then why purchase it? Sounds like you bought a used lemon. Purchased my 05 350Z new off the lot. With over 110K I haven't had any of these issues. Sounds like the stealership just saw you coming.

Been working for nissan for a while now and I've never seen most of these issues actually happen on the 370z. Most expensive thing to usually happen on these cars is tires. They're pretty solid cars. Sounds like you got the runaround.. find a new dealer PRONTO. If they made you pay $600+ and it didn't fix you're problem and the they tacked on more fees.. shady af.
People might think that he must be unlucky, but this things actually happen, 3 months after I purchased my 370z my antilock system failed $1400 to repair it! :/ other than that my Z is running great now. Oil change are cheap, repairs are expensive.

i thought fuel was going to be the killer for my 350z, but its not too bad.The thing I'm always spending $$ on is car washes/supplies...and since I have a roadster the car washes are all by hand....but I 100% agree its all worth it

I've had my 2014 370Z since December 2014. It rolled off the assembly line in October 2014. I haven't had any problems whatsoever.

I can relate. I have a 2010 40th anniversary edition and my clutch was going out and tranny is going out then car battery then my door locks started not to work with the remote. Then steering columns needed to replaced thank god it was covered by Nissan do to recall. Great video

You completely left out the greatest cost of car ownership--depreciation. Depreciation is just like taking your hard earned money (that you're presumably paying interest on), and making it vanish into thin air.
oh and you might be interested, i quoted full coverage for a 370z (im 23), with nationwide, and it was 127$/m, and they called me and said they could lower it if it would get me to switch to there insurance

The insurance does seem to be a bit high but otherwise I haven't had to do anything besides oil changes. The tires will be expensive once they wear out though.
Thanks for the video! I have an old Volvo I bought that is dying. It was a temporary car until I got the funds together for another one. Anyway, I was looking at a Z because Nissan has a decent reputation as far as reliability, but a friend of mine who's a mechanic and an old Z owner (240 I believe) told me to do my research on the car as the Zs can have problems. So far it looks like I'm going to go back to my Corvettes after all. I guess, there is no such thing as a trouble free sports car. Still, they are a hell of a lot of fun to drive!

09 g37 90k miles on the odo currently one year into ownership.
I have to replace the front end links and that's it, so $150 but let's be real car is 10 years old bushings and end links tend to wear around then.

Over $1000 in repairs in the first 6 months? Holy sh**. This is why I found a good mechanic and I have every potential new car inspected by them. I know a fair amount, but I'm not a professional. I pay $40 for a pre-buy inspection, and so far it has saved me thousands...
In my Country for 370z i pay 200€ for insurance + 150€ for road taxes in Total 350€ for 1 year plus gas depend how often you drive it

Like you said, it varies from person to person and depending where you live.
Some at 25 or older will probably only have to pay half of that, and if you can do the maintenance and stuff yourself, even less.

All the 370z owners on youtube are so proud they make it to 100k miles. As someone looking to pick up a used one, I sure hope to get a lot more out of a car than that. You guys aren't making me feel too confident about investing my money in one of these. If I pick one up used with 70k miles on it (which are going for $14-$16k), It had better last me to at least 175k miles. Thats 100k miles of expected use for $16k. So thats 6.25 miles of expected use for every thousand I spent on it. Thats still not great. But if a z owner is LUCKY to get to 100k miles, then that same z with 70k miles would only have about 30k expected useful miles left in it. Putting it at 1.875 miles of expected use per thousand spent. Thats teeeeeerrrrible. Answers, quickly, before my dreams go up in a cloud of exhaust!

I have an 09 Nismo and it has cost me exactly $0.00 in any sort of repairs. Z is only costly in tires. It eats them pretty quick. I was lucky to get 25k miles out of my rear. Front look like it will make it till 30k.

Sounds like me when I bought my 300srt8 used from a lot. I feel like you have to find these cars from a private owner who actually takes care of their car. I loved my 300 srt8 but also hated the debt it put me in. I learned my lesson though
2020 brand new $30.500 out the door. At 30,000 miles did tires and brakes. That it. Regular oil changes. Wax on, wax off. Love it!
1200 in tax is nothing mine will be around 3-3500 in California on a 24k buy ... dont fill up a full tank if you are around town, liquid weighs alot and your mpg will increase.

my last 09 was auto 80k on the clock just tires oil and 1 battery is all the maintenance it took and I drove that car hard
Bought my 2014 Z with 8k miles about 2 years ago and Zero issues.. I guess I don't daily it so maybe that's why but I'm at 23k miles and drives like new
You know that they purposely told you the wrong thing ?!..... they fixed the power steering hoses that was fine to begin with and told you what actually was going on the second time.......... they got you good !
All of these problems should have been covered by the dealership under warranty. Your one very patient and nice guy to let them do this to you 😂😂.

I absolutely mean no offense here, but this is a shining example of why it is good to have some wrench-turning experience! That's about $800-1000 you could've saved had you known how to do it! I know not everyone has friends or family that can teach them to work on cars, but it's always great to learn somewhere, even if it's self-taught or by watching a video on here!

I bought my 370z in December 2015 at 71k miles.. only unexpected maintenance was for a heater hose that burst.Came to about $150 for parts and labor. You either somehow got a lemon or got played by mechanics
Your insurance is super high. That's way more then what I pay on my E92 M3. Anyways, I also had a 370Z as a my second car. I would pay about 70$ a month. Full coverage. Look at a other insurance companies. Statefarm wanted 140$ a month and Allstate wanted about 90$. I'm currently with Geico. I was 23 when I had the 370z and m3. I'm currently 24.
I have an '09 Z34 MT. I've had no problems at all.
Except that god damned CSC! It blew up and left me stranded at 18k miles. Thankfully it was still covered by the 3yr/36k mile warranty. Then it blew up AGAIN at 40k miles. This time, not covered. So I had an HD slave from Zspeed and a heavy duty master from RJM installed. Cost me $700 in parts and $600 in labor at a local shop.
Thankfully my mechanic said the clutch looks new, so I didn't have to cough up another $1300 for a new clutch and flywheel.

Here in the UK you can't legally even drive a 370z until you're 25+ and my insurance came out to about £700 per year. Tax is a killer at £500 a year and fuel.. well.. the note on the fuel lid states to use 97 octane+ which has been costing me about £80-90 to fill her up for one light O_O it's expensive but so worth it!

I have a 370, and part of the requirement for insurance in the UK is that you're over 25. If you're not, you can't get insured and if you're not insured it's illegal :p
Don't know who your insurer is, directline were all too happy to quote me about a grand for a 350z (which in insurance terms is arguably higher risk than a 370z in insurance terms at least). That's going up from a fairly slow diesel

For maintenance, that just sounds like the previous owner didn’t take care of it well
Taxes are inevitable regardless what car you buy so are insurance and fuel. Was the dealer that charged you over $600 for a power steering hose the same dealer that charged you just over $200 for a power steering pump and belt replacement? First of all the dealer should have test drove your car after replacing the power steering hose and realized the issues was not fully resolved. Second the disparity in repair costs between replacing a hose VS replacing a power steering pump and belt makes no sense at all. If you think owning a 370Z is expensive try owning an SLK 55 AMG or Alfa Romeo 4C and getting them serviced by the dealer. I don't know what you are majoring in in college but hopefully when you graduate you will get a home with a garage, buy some tools and learn to work on your own car. Over a lifetime you will save enough to retire comfortably. I like the way you have the tablet hanging from the dash, interesting idea, I might copy cat you on that idea. Hey man... be careful were you take a sports car for repairs. The mechanics will charge you a couple hundred dollars more than the actual price. Simply because it is a sports car they think that you will expect a higher price. In my experience of proudly owning a 2013 370z, I have only spent around $2500 in repairs in over 4 years of ownership (not including oil)

Owned my Z34 for over 1 1/2 years, 6mt DD 20 Yrs old, and never had a problem until my clutch stuck to the floor at the time I got it towed to Nissan and they wanted over 1K to replace the CSC & CMC, I said fuck off and bought the CMC, replaced it and only cost me 120$ for the part and some help from a buddy ! 😁👌🏾
Nothing you said would be different for any other car. You either have really bad luck or let mechanics take you for a ride. I've owned an FRS, 350z, GTI, 370z and have done nothing but annual maintenance and have never had any issues or needed repairs.
