been watching your other vlogs on repeat for a sense of comfort against my anxiety, and they truly help. the intro to today’s vlog is very comforting too, thank you so much Cari 🤍
Thank you always!
FELT
I agreeeee….
Same ❤❤
I love how you portrait the world through your view ❤️ you gave us peace and optimism

Forever in love with the aesthetic of your videos 💌
Thank you 🥹
Me too🥹🥹
same. You make me want to try to make vlog style videos.
heey! I am from Russia. We watch your videos in school with my teacher and classmates every week and it’s fascinatingly!! I remember my first watching your vlog about the first trip to Edinburgh + Glasgow. We had watched this before writing a test of it. It was when we were 11 , but we aren’t in English school, we haven't studied the pre-intermidiate even completely then - breathtakingly! I thought then that your video was popular all over the world and it was turned on by everyone at school. I understood then what you are saying in the video, my chillin’ dudes - so-so. Besides, I wrote for the highest score. Just thx for my middle school times with you , I appreciate it 😭❤️
hii is it ok to ask you where are you studying? im from Russia and really-really curious about your school!!
Привееееет! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@tuftofflowers привет😅
@@user-qo5qt4je1v well this is an ordinary school in Chelyabinsk with a slight bias on languages (you can choose Chinese, French or German additionally) but English is taught to everyone, we have Oxford textbooks (just a story, no bragging), we watch Cari at times (the teacher believes that this way we will understand the language better and he is damn right) all this is of course cool, but our school looks very shabby, gray. everything is scarce and poor in it, we have a very bad canteen, tasteless food, broken toilets undoubtedly and ... perhaps everything I can say
You're so beautiful. Please continue to spread your kindness and wholesomeness in the world. It definitely needs more people like you
This is one of my comfort channels and every day you post just feels calm and joyful
17:17 that transition was so satisfaying
Completely agree that what we see in others is a reflection of our own mental state. A cuppa tea will do the trick -- together with the dogs on 경의선 숲길! : )
🙌🙌🙌
Love your videos! I can literally watch them over and over again, so comfy and calming ❤
Thank you 🥹🥹
I love that perspective on books, I love to read because of how the books make me feel but because of my ADHD i have trouble articulating what happened in the story when people ask which often makes people think I haven’t actually read them but it still counts. And it means when I read a book a second time it’s just as exciting :)
Wow! Im so early lol. Usually a silent follower. But I love your videos! So relaxing and lovely!
Thank you so much!!!
you are my ultimate comfort person in this world!
I just got back home after a week in Seoul yesterday, and watching this was so comforting because I miss it already! and it was so strange/cool to see places that I saw myself, like the craft museum and the artist bakery! thank you for the video
Love your videos very much they are calming and wonderful to watch on this beautiful weekend ✨🫶
Thank you always!
Thank you, Cari for your weekly videos. They have really enchanted my soul for the past 2 months, during this gloomy winter. I have South Korea on my immediate travel list and the way you portray this country, which for many of my friends who went there was a bit depressing (mostly people), well it's a gift you have. Also restarted reading with your book channel, so thank you again!. All my love and gratefulness from fellow Capricorn here 🥰.
I love Cari’s new hair look, cool Korea lifestyle vlog so much, I enjoyed it! ❤❤
Thanks!!
memory... "so Kurt just texted me and reminded me" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My external memory drive hahha
Thank you for taking us along Cari ❤
Thanks for coming with 🥹🥹
Watching your video is a good start to my Sunday morning ❤ Have a great weekend!
Have a great weekend too!!
Hoping to visit Seoul where my partner grew up sometime next year and your videos always make me more excited for the trip!
🙌🙌🙌
what a lovely video to start my day with!! i also wanted to say thank you for putting closed captions on your videos - it might be a small thing but its always nice to watch videos with them :)
your joy is infectious cari!! i'm already in a better mood just after watching 💖
It is excellent to be able to peek a day in Seoul looks like!
Just found your channel like yesterday and watched 10 videos SOMEONE stop me I need to finish my novel but you just give all the best vibes and now I want to go to Seoul
watching your vlogs is always my favourite way to start my Sunday mornings ☺️
🥹🥹🥹
I struggle with doing things on my own, so I end up doing nothing, which is not great. Watching your vlogs is really helping with changing my mindset around that ❤
"Carrie" is one of my very favorite movies...just so much to love about it...although I was a little too young when it came out to actually see it in the movie theater and didn't see it for a few years later and I adore it!! Thank you for sharing a few days in your every day life with us!!! xo
this was such a comforting vlog :’) i’ve been having a pretty shitty mental week so this was a good reminder to try to live in the moment and appreciate it. also i can’t wait for that video about memory, i have so many thoughts about this reading-related and otherwise; like how we need to document experiences or they didn’t happen etc etc. one of my goals this year is to document less bc our experiences are REAL no matter what!! love ya ❤️
Hate those!! Hope next week clears up for you 🤍🤍🤍
Thank you for another cozy video Cari 🫶🏻 Your haircut vlogs remind me of your bangs phase which was soo cute!!
Edit: Also can’t wait for the book video! I also remember how the book made me feel rather than exact events unless it was so notable or I have it jutted down. I think it’s an interesting discourse.
Hahah always thinking of going back 🤔🤔🤔
It is midnight there and my last video before going to bed. A piece of hapiness after a rainy day.
Sweet dreams!
finally!! someone who has read the library at mount char. It's so weird and dark, but I really, really enjoyed how unique it was. And what great world-building for such a short book. Can't wait to hear what you think
you uploaded this video on my birthday 🥺 i didn’t get to watch it that, day but it felt like an unexpected present when i saw the notification. thank you cari 🩵
Your vlogs bring me so much comfort, perfect start to Sunday x
The first time in forever youtube actually told me when you posted! You and Oliviareadsalatte are my comfort times. For the extent of an entire video I'm off-limits to my kids, husband, animals anything. It's time for JUST me. Self care
Love that 💗🥹✨
@caricakes one if the few rules I've put in place. At most it could be 4 videos a week.. and at most 2 hours at a time. It is however long the video is. I have a snack a drink and cuddle in a blanket and have me time. It's helped my mental health so much as a mom of aspecial needs kiddo and also a highly intelligent kid.. they are 13 and 10. And I'm just putting that time up.. it is helping
Thank you so much for adding the naver links in the description of your videos!! I save them all to my naver maps, can't wait to visit these places 🥰
Concerning the whole dilemma of remembering books or not, it reminded me of a line I came across lately in a book « Books are not meant to remain in your mind, but in your heart. Maybe they exist in your mind too, but as something more than memories. »

Thanks for making such comforting vlogs!! Love them.
Amazing vlog as always! Cheers!
Thank you!!
this is so calming. Love your videos.
Sooo good to see you, missed you last week!!!! Warm hugs to you and Kurt
I love your vlogs so much! So relaxing. :)
Thanks so much!!!
That Spanish bookstore looked so pretty! Actually there are a lot of Korean books being translated in Spanish, at least here in Argentina I've seen a lot more of asian literature in general being translated and available! the little face on your washing machine made me laugh lol. Have a great week Cari!
The best way to start sundays is with a cup of tea and a new video from you :)
I love your vlogs. I love the calm but informative and interesting experiences you have. I would travel to South Korea just for the cafes which are so beautiful💐
It's a great haircut 🙌. I'd love to visit that Spanish bookshop. I'm always needing to practice and continue learning.
Same! I almost bought the pride and prejudice book 🥹
Yay you're back! Missed you last week! 🙂
Back to our usual sched I promise hahahha
Your vlogs always make my day ❤ thank youuu
The music choices in your videos are the best!!
💗💗💗
Another great video as always but omg the music in this episode is extra awesome 👌🏼
Regarding memory, sure I think it counts as having experienced the thing even if you don't remember it, but if someone says they've read it and other people try to talk with them about it and its just like "I don't know, I don't remember anything about it" then that kind of shuts down the conversation and makes it for the other person effectively like they're talking to someone who hasn't read it.
I loved The Library at Mount Char! It was so different from any book I’ve ever read, which is always exciting
Maybe give gideon the ninth a try! The later part of that series felt similar to mount char!
Great Vlog Cari, I was looking forward to it🎉 (and your hair looks amazing😘)
seoul. so many unique places. enjoyed the visit to the Craft Museum. happy Sunday!
This video was so nice, and also very nice to see you in such a good mood. It made me smile, too. 😊
Your vlogs are the best. Love seeing life in South Korea. Hope to visit one day. Thank you
Your music choices are sublime. Never miss
Thank you 🥹
The Library at Mount Char is a bizarre tale. Yes, there is a premise that can be conveyed so a person has some idea of what the book is *not* about but processing the plot and understanding character motivations... must be experienced. It's like Piranesi -- ya have to read it to really get it (and then seek out others' interpretations for clarity) -- but it's the tonal opposite.
I’m the same with not being able to recall plots, but I remember enjoying or not enjoying books. I am fully immersed and present when reading a book, but then I have to forget about it and move on so I can fully immerse myself in another story and connect with new characters. Kinda like life 😆
Exactly 😂😂
Wow this is so cool. We’re in South Korea at the moment and loving your suggestions
The crafts museum looks so interesting, I think I could spend a whole day in there (or several tbh). Also your hair looked so great & healthy fresh from the appointment (the cut turned out beautifully) and now I’m interested in scalp treatments… 👀
We also saw Wonka with no expectations, kiddo and I enjoyed it!
That is really neat about the book vs movie memory recollection! I think that movies just feed you quick bits of scenes and you don’t have time to digest and “stamp” it in your memory and books are leaving imaginary memories that we absorb at of our own speed of thought! in 8:20 cute hat! :)
👏👏👏
Missed u Cari🥺
So excited to watch yet another heartwarming vlog!!..💞
Thank you 🥹🥹
from Korea ~~thank good video 🎉 ❤ 😊😊
sis your hair looks so good and shiny omg!!
Feeling pretty yuck at the moment but this video, especially the last part where you talked about perspective helped. Thank you 💛💚🩵
Hope you feel significantly less yuck soon!
Visiting Korea the end of March, and we were planning to visiting that second location in the mall. Absolutely no go if it’s still that packed! 😂
Also thank you for the hair salon info! I was adopted from Korea and this trip is my way to reset what Korea means to me. It’s my third time visiting but this is the first time the trip is for me. I have a list of things I want to do: hair care, glasses, bath house, etc. I’ll be sure to check out the other creators for information!
I enioyed watching little details of the life with you as always🥹❤
Hello Carrie, love your channel, can you please talk about “lookism” phenomenon in Korea ? Someone told me that some businesses use this concept to accept or not their clients? Thanks.
It’s interesting how you’re reading a book with the character Carolyn and then also saw Carrie who in the newer version was also played be Chloe Grace Moretz who also played a Carolyn in Dark Shadows 👀
love your videos! also, i heard ethel cain's american teenager and i lit up lol
That scalp treatment looks so relaxing! Do I sense a digital perm making its comeback???
I havent done a perm in many years and wont be going back!! Really not good for your hair 🥲
Yay! First here. Lots of love Cari❤
💗💗💗
Can you do a video on how these books and movies that are thriller or creepy affect you or not you mentally. Talk about how you manage that so that it does not affect you emotionally and mentally in a negative way. Thanks,
Interesting... that you find cafes so quiet, you were like all by yourself. I remember years ago when i went to seoul, those we went to jamped pack.
I specifically go as early as possible and on weekdays haha most popular cafes have lines and wait lists 🤫
Happy Lunar New Year! Your hair is stunning regardless of what you do with it 😍
Thank you 🥹 happy new year!!
Damn Cari please never stop vlogging ❤❤❤
If you are interested in some Korean books I hope you check out 박노해 Park Nohae and 신영복 Shin Young-Bok. They are the great minds Korean people admire (nowadays not that many people read books but actually Korea have very deep culture for good books.) I recommend poetry book '사람만이 희망이다' by Park Nohae.
And also Park Nohae opens exhivisions at 라 카페 갤러리 in 서촌, this place is a complex of a cafe, a bookstore and a gallary. I heard 서촌 used to be the place for bibliophiles I hope you someday check out the vanishing yet profound culture.
Hi Cari
As a Korean, thank you for uploading such a great video and loving Korea.
I hope you have a pleasant trip and make great memories while you are in Korea.
Can you show us the beautiful scenery of Gyeongju this spring as well?
I have many videos of Gyeongju in spring! I have lived here for about 10 years 😅😂
I wish we had so many beautiful cafes in my hometown 😞😞😞
Love them 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Omg you were listening to Ethel Cain !!!! loved the video :)
Omg I don’t usually comment but The Library at Mount Char is one of my favourite books! For me it was incredible emotional but brilliant so hope you enjoy it :))
Hi from germany 🧡 i love your Videos so much 😍🧡😘
Hi!! Thank you 💗
I’m sending you love and a great month❤❤❤
Oh that new library looks epic, but I agree, uncomfortable to use.
The artist bakery! Everything looked so yummy! 🤤 Now I want mushroom soup 😅
And that craft museum! The textiles and the pottery! I could spent ages in there! In uni we had to take courses for overarching expertise in things relating to East Asian studies (I studied Sinology) and when we did art history of East Asia, the pottery had a hold on me that is there to this day.
So yeah, I'd enjoy that museum a lot I think. (And can we talk about that dragon painting/embroidery?!)
Hi Cary! A couple of vlogs ago, you mentioned you started writing with writing prompts. Would you mind sharing those?
I just looked up “creative writing prompts” on Pinterest and you can find thousands!
Thank you!!@@caricakes
I wanna live like this, to just walk around cities and explore cafes as like side quests and not have a 9-5 job im so jealous of u
I had a 9-5 for 6+ years so that I could do this! Hope one day you're able to take time off too!
@@caricakes oh I see! im a freshman in college rn so Im just doing some part time jobs but yesss im dreaming!!!
That mushroom soup 🤤
What a perfect vlog 😊
Happy lunar new year 🧧
Hapoy lunar new year!!
Would love to go to suwon Starfield end April with you if you haven't gone yet!
Hi Cari, I’ve been following your videos for years now and the vibes of your videos resonate with me. I hope to do some amateur videos myself and just wondering which software do you use for your video editing?
love the video always💕 suwon starfield looks insane. hope the popularity will die down soon so I can visit without getting stepped all over.
Same 😭😭😭
Adorable content as always! 💛 Idk if Kurt is a baseball fan or not but the LG Twins are actually doing their spring training like 5 minutes driving from my house in Scottsdale, Arizona. We just watched them practice yesterday! Just curious…have you ever thought of doing a collab with any of the other vloggers in Seoul? Might be fun!! 🧐😀😃😎🤩🥳
Ohhh exciting! He doesnt like baseball but i do! Hope to catch the padres/dodgers game thats maybe happening in seoul in march 👀
cc3 is out😀 you know what that means! Also love your videos❤
Carrie was one of the first horror films I watched .. scary but brilliant !!! Xx
13:36 looks like a movie scene out of a romantic chick flick where a couple meets to enjoy baked goods and tea ☕️ 😊
The light in that cafe was so cinematic!
@caricakes Can you share the piano instrumental from the very beginning of the video? I love it and I don't think it's in your links
I LOVE both of the coats you wear in this video. Where did you get them and what brand are they, please?
