Hey guys.
In this DCS World Simulator video @GrowlingSidewinder and I flying the f16 Viper and striking a forward Airfield that protected to some extent.
We are striking with an F117 Nighthawk that will strike the main HQ in the Airfield.

I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.

F-117: F-16s.... please go away. You're giving away my position.
F-117 is that daylight
i mean, breaking off at a waypoint was a hella smart move. the F-16s obscured whatever little radar signature the F-117 had up until that point, and all aircraft changed heading when they separated, which ensured that the F-117's course could neither be followed or extrapolated. for ground radar, it seemed like it was just two F-16s flying some path up there, there was no indication where the F-117 would pop up
I thought stealth mostly protected from being locked not detected?
@@EhmedCousCous stealth means not seen on radar unless the enemy aircraft lucky enough to get close into visual range by accident. If the enemy aircraft has IRST & good radar, he could track & lock on to the F-117 at visual range. In actual the F-16C wouldn't fly anywhere close to F-117 especially never on same flight path as doing so would give enemy air patrols the opportunity to bump straight onto the F-117 sight. Instead, F-16C would have flanked further away from another direction as seen in Serbia war.
@@jayjay53313 i agree, but when talking about big radars on the ground they definitely can see the aircraft, they just can’t get a good lock to fire a missile

I always loved the F-117. When I was younger it was by far my favorite jet just because it looked incredible. I didn’t know anything about jets or how they worked, I just loved the F-117 because it didn’t look like anything I had ever seen before, such a beautiful jet.

same. i had a handheld game that was the shape of the plane, and you look into it and move around trying to shoot down other planes. it was amazing at the time

Love how this brings out the F-16's multi-role nature and allows it to flex them muscles.. and that BVR fight was another exeercise in tension, looking forward to more!
Good job on the ground targets. I'm surprised your radars didn't identify them as J-15s. For a while, I was worried you two were about to be jumped by J-20s.

I loved Microprose F117a Stealth Fighter sim back in the early 90's. Wishing we would get a full release module for it on DCS.
My favorite flight sim from the 90s has got to be iF-22

@@JSRJS Reckon it's about 6 or 7 bucks Canadian on steam. I still play from time to time. It's still a super fun, tense game where you have to plan your route, based on the radar, and land on criminally short runways haha
That F-117 is such a "pretty ugly airplane". They have an elegance all their own.

LongShot and GS are the best DCS channels! Also love that LongShot has a better computer than GS, so the framerates are always butter smooth no matter what. No micro-stutters. Hope GS will update hardware at some point.

Where was the other GBU from the 117? Hahah. Worked on them back in the original 37TFW days. Pretty good and realistic 117 with antennas retracted etc for max stealth. I only with they had the TR tailcode on it hahaha.

I love this mission. Think I’ll take the idea, if that’s Ok, and make something like it for myself. I’m currently waiting on surgery to my eyes, so can’t fly without labels at the moment so it’ll just have to be me and an idiotic AI, but at least I’ll be able to fly it that way. I might even try a version with the F117 mod and fly the nighthawk. The cockpit is a little immersion breaking but it does have the small RCS. Hmm. Thinking aloud, I’ll sneak a JTAC near the target and drop a GBU. Cheers, most entertaining.
Probably still all classified but a flyable F117 mod would make for some epic infiltration bombing missions.

it always surprises me how swept back the wings on the f117 are. yet it still cant go supersonic for some reason
The F-117 was designed not to go supersonic because breaking the sound barrier is detectable on radar. The F-117 uses the same engines as the F-18 without the afterburner section.

Is the F-117 still in service?
They've been spotted in Death Valley for other aircraft to train with. There's a video floating around youtube of people photographing them. Sadly, I don't reckon they're taking on SAM sites these days.
They have a shitload of them in storage in case of emergencies.

Probably not active service, their stealth is all but useless to modern radar, so they'd just be a super expensive limited strike craft
