On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8. - Ігри

Thanks for watching guys, I hope you enjoyed the video Thank you to Sunde for helping out with this one, also please let me know what you thought about the red circles in the video. Thanks guys see you in the next one, Much Love.
Amazing flying. Dogfights like these would be interesting to see from a 3rd person point of view (from the ground).
The Tac-View would also be interesting to analyze some of the more extreme maneuvers.
"Like Leaves falling from the sky" is a pretty good analogy.
As always the red circles are welcome.
Welcome back GS...hope to see you flyin and dyin throughout 2023 in great style :)
F-22 Raptor VS Nine North Korean MIG-29's BVR
Please fly The J-10 against The SU-27!
Since the topic of today's video is "supermanuverability", i'd like to, once again, request: NGAD vs F-15 ACTIVE.
This is a NBC news update! Today, a group of Pigmy Owls were nihilated when a missile from a dog fight taking place overhead crashed into their enclosure, exploding and killing all the owls. When interviewed the attendant to the owls said, "What sick person would shoot a missile into an owl enclosure? What sick person wants to smoke a bunch of owls like that?" When reached for comment the pilot only said, "Just a plane and a missile in a field, no one got hurt."
This is an ABC news update, two russian flankers were spotted dancing over the Burj Khalifa, residence said the plane took out a monkey farm and two pigmy owl reserves near an apartment complex where tarzans mother spent her retirement years, Russian military news only said two Mig 31's were dogfighting in Dubai but have not confirmed them to be Su-27's. But Dubai news videos clearly show them as Su-27 flankers. Who knows it could have been
Nicely done, it's exactly why Rangers have to go deep downrange to calm villagers to not plant I.E.D's take pot shots at convoys. Stacks of cash, viagra and porn CD's for the elders, while drinking tea, taking a tongue lashing. "Your Growling Sidewinder he is a menace! He kill ten of my goats!" Ranger Captain : "Listen, I've been authorized to pay extra if you can show a picture of it actually being GS... yup damnit that's him. Much disrespect, as usual... here take another stack, these canyons are a favorite of his to lure in his opponents. If we could just get him transferred to Space Force!" 🤣
@@debbiestimac5175 Haha, the language of someone who has walked downrange once or twice.
How else will the owls learn?!
Splash five pygmy owls.
4:15 ''i love this kind of dogfight, especially since nobody got hurt''
the random civilian in a coffee shop after receiving a lethal dose of stray 30 mm HE : ''are you sure about that''
that´s almost exactly what i wanted to comment. kinda scary, other me.. :D
Tough luck for the people playing soccer in that field too
@@Rusty_Shackle-Ford SSSUUUUUUUIIIIIIIII
Shouldn’t have been underneath a combat zone 🙃
Except this civillian won't be able to say anything. >_>
Would love to see one of these videos with your flight inputs shown. Never know how much you're working away when fighting
I would really like to see that too
that would be amazing
i agree with this a 110%
Bro i would the whole fight and be constructing on the inputs, i would love it tho
same!
"That missile hit in a field, we're all good"
All the people in the city who took 30mm rounds earlier: "Am I a joke to you?"
+Invictarus Suzerain Not to mention how he went all Al-Quaeda in the round 2.
As a Ace Combat fan, this is the first time watching DCS. This is incredible
Welcome to the DCS community
Welcome to the realism
Pay attention to this guy.. He is not only an excellent sim pilot but he is one of the best at explaining what's going on. I flew flight sims a LOT when I was younger and still learned exponentially more from GS since i've been a sub than I did in YEARS on my own
You putting the red circle on the bandit helps a lot actually can you do it on more videos
*MAXIMUM OVERMANEUVERABILITY*
Seriously, it's like watching two very large, very angry paper airplanes in a dogfight.
The way flankers can just hang in the air has always amazed me, imagine watching a dogfight in person between these two planes it would be wild.
I was watching dogfights like that, but without firing guns and missiles, when i was aircraft technician on Su-27SM. We called it dancing, because it really looks like a beautiful smooth dance in the skies. It's breathtaking.
@@sentar_dv they don’t pull these kind of maneuver in training, you can see the true dance only when life is at stake
What a beautiful fight, it's more an air ballet than dogfight. Nice job!
I was thinking the same, it was rather elegant.
I feel like i am watching ESPN fighter pilot channel seeing these videos. Cameras switch constantly to show the optimal view. Nicely done !
That guns kill in round 3 was probably the most brutal kill I have ever seen in DCS.
Loving these dogfights with Sunde, he's great! Super aggressive, also superb in nose counters.
Ever consider doing 2 v 2 dogfights? Wondering how tactics change with wingmen.
People have been asking for this for years, but he seems deaf to it.
5:57 The way the J-11 just cobras all the way up there makes it look like it is just standing still in place, defying all physics. It seems just like you can wait until your opponent flies underneath you. And that kind of worked out in this example, lol
So basically once they super-maneouver, they behave like two fat tired dudes after throwing three punches on the air.
I could watch these supermaneuverability fights for hours and be entertained. Some of the turns and moves pulled are crazy.
I’m still in awe of how you managed to compete with the flanker using the F-14B.
Watching your skills with the different planes is inspiring.
So funny seeing people say great vid man 30 secs after the video was published
I absolutely love your stuff. Can we please see the Mig-19 vs the Mig-29? I've asked 4 times now I think. Love ya dude your my absolute favorite. Keep up the amazing work.
Might be awhile I have asked for 139 straight videos to see the mig31 vs 2 f35. Keep trying.
@@Robert53area Dern bro. Good luck.
I wouldnt be surprised if he has a list somewhere with video suggestions accumulated. With his release schedule he'd about have to.
But keep asking. Comments and algorithms etc etc.0
You two were "dancing" with each other for so long, I thought to myself "Hey you two! Get a room!" lol 🤓
Imagine if this actually were to take place. The OG Russian Flankers vs the Chinese Copies. Would be historical, for sure.
How about ukranian vs russian Flankers? That's probably happening right now
@@Leonardo-wn2fp with so much anti-air up, nah don't think so
@@Leonardo-wn2fp Except those are both Russian made, from the same source. Just different nations using them. Chinese J-11s are knockoffs based off of the Russian designs.
@@evo3s75 it is except mostly BVR and Russians win every engagement. Ukrainians dont have R77s or R37s.
@@nemanja162 also ukranian planes fly very low and don't have AWACS. So, BVR with Su-35S with Irbis radar is dead for them
Oh for the squish sound when you got up close and personal with the building! Awesome video!
In my opinion, supermaneuverability is the ability to have high AOA capabilities, good turn radius while still managing energy. It doesn't necessarily need to be a Cobra or flat spin. You can just stay on your enemy six no matter what they do.
That is actually the initial logic of supermaneuverability in Soviet doctrine, as a high AOA should have been enough to turn onto a bandit on 6 o'clock, lock and shoot the missile in a matter of seconds, and then returning to normal flight path. Basically surprise the enemy with a shock attack while being seemingly ultradefensive.
@@rbs1997 Makes sense since their doctrine mainly focus on air superiority
@@rbs1997 Thats almost what GS did at 13:31 without the missile, and an actual pilot might be able to fly it to its full potential like that
Great video, as always! Would you consider doing BVR and/or dogfight between the Gripen and F35? Gripen has lost out to the F35 in several deals lady years, so might be fun to see how they stack up against each other in DCS.
Another Flanker Video 🤩
Please do a Su 35 next
I didn’t realize you enjoyed architecture until you took a tour of the building. Well done, expanding your horizons is a wonderful idea.
I really enjoyed the more evenly matched fight.
Good fun!
Agreed
"I have been looking forward to this..."
--- Count Dooku ---
Watching on a Galaxy S21+ and this looks amazeballs! You always kill it, GS! Keep up the good work!
With every video like that , GS literally destroying real estate market in Dubai
Sooo good to learn what the planes in DCS are capable of...!! Thank you!
What a glorious thing after a single line in a movie has done. Split that throttle!
That round 3 kill was so disrespectful 🤣
😆Love how you tried to park your jet in the parking garage of that building! Great dogfight! 💯
Oh that was just pure eye candy! Thanks!
Your last video on the Flanker as well as this one, really gave me Ace Combat vibes.
That Cobra button is one hell of a drug.
11:21 Just making SURE the lights are out…
Great video.
It was amazing to see this.
In general, many try to do such cool maneuvers on Flankers.
But not everyone manages to use them correctly in dogfight.
And after that, many say that the Cobra and other maneuvers are useless in combat.
Actually it is not.
Unfortunately or fortunately, only stubborn professionals can master these maneuvers and get their hands on what is essentially a big trump card in close combat.
Personally, I have so far only sometimes and then by chance it turns out to win. But how beautiful it is!
Sunde is a great adversary for you. I hope we see lots more of him!
This is so beautiful to watch. As you said, it is like watching 2 falling leafs fighting each other. 😄
I would love a scenario where datalink capability is key. It's one of the selling points of the Gripen, but I can't see the advantage without stealth. Would love to learn about that.
First of all, that was a great video and I enjoyed watching it. Your videos are educational and entertaining for those new to DCS.
Can you do a scenario where you fly the F-5E Tiger against the Flanker? That would be fun to watch.
Yo GS, thanks for the content. Nice commentary and demonstration. Round 3 kill...all the disrespects. Thanks again. Have a pleasant day. Cheers.
The building crash was definitely an “aaaaaand you fail” moment
PS I love the red circle highlighting the bandit at key moments
Beautiful fights, would love to see more of these!
Maverick: "I'm gonna hit the brakes and he'll fly right by."
GS: "God-do-what" ... splat.
Hey GS. Thanks for all the great videos! QUESTION: I noticed that when you use differential thrust, you always use the engine on the same side as the direction you are turning e.g., ussing right engine to yaw right, etc. WHY? Why not use the opposing engine to turn the opposite direction? Thanks!!
Hi man, soooo when that happens its either engine taking time to respond to input....OR I'm making a mistake in the input. it's always one of those 2 things. You're right if I want to throw the nose right I would be puttin in more left engine.
This is also correct, I may input the other engine in the middle of the turn to oppose the diff thrust I put in initially....sort of controlling diff thrust with more diff thrust.
@@GrowlingSidewinder Understood. Thanks for the reply!
my pleasure
Going through a rough break up this makes me feel better until the emotional pain kicks in later👍🏽
Reminds me of the video GS did a while back - the dance of the sukhoi's, I think. Just beautiful watching these super-maneuverable aircraft twist and roll over each other.
13:28 "I have an idea."
I'm not going to lie. I thought you were just going to 180 straight into them
what an amazing flight performence! So nice to watch what these planes are capable of. Pure joy to watch!
Most excellent! Loved this!
Crazy stuff, hats off to you both
From the Lock On days, i remember that russian craft used to have a reticle that you could engage by pressing 7 or 8. One can aim the gun with that.
We’ve come full circle and returned to spitfire vs BF109
3:34 "I want to understand the enemy" headass
That turn at 13:30, and I could just hear Rooster in my head.
In that last kill in the last round. Imagine you're just driving casually on the freeway and then BOOM, a Flanker just crashes and explodes right beside you. 😂😂😂
Goddamit, the third round kill was OP.
As woody, from toy story, would say to this dogfight - "That's not flying, that's just falling with style". Haha. Great video as always
Great match! I've never seen GS drive it in the ground. Sundee is legit. Great fight, boys!
I always felt that supermaneuverability was better used in an offensive rather tthan defensive tactic, but then again having seen this video i realize the East Bloc might have indeed a point in keeping it available for their fighters when the opportunity arises, great video!
Interesting landing technique. I can see you spotted a gap in the Maccy D's drive thru and went for it. Better luck next time
In my opinion i personally think that retaining energy is more important but if you give the right pilot a super maneuvourable plane they can be dangerous in dogfights
@Syntex366 well yes thats why the Pilot needs to be extremly well trained in the super maneuvourabilty aspect of there plane
@@Editzify It's still stringently situational at best, gun fights aren't going to happen without getting 3rd partied or smoked by a wingman, or forcing your own wingman to have to help you out.
The Flanker probably won't be using super maneuverability very often if at all in most instances.
The spicy ejection into the side of the building 10/10.
It's funny to see two aircraft basically dance around each other at such slow speeds
With the DiffE thrust near-mastered, what about another ‘Flanker Gracie Challenge’?
YES! IT’S FINALLY HERE!
That building fatality was awesome.
Just like the tomcat the flanker has some tricks up it's sleeve
I can see my house in your video since you are fighting in the skyes of Dubai 😂😂😂
It's like two leafs flailing in the wind, majestic
Can't say I have ever seen a jet being dismembered before....but that round 3 was like a saw sequel.
Lol yall were getting goofy with it in that one. sick fights
7:20 - a Flanker in it's natural resting spot, a random apartment building.
13:34 Red Tails Lightning: “Imma show a little trick I learned”
First time I've seen GS on the receiving end of a maneuver kill.
Yup, that one hurt.
It’s like leaf fighting each other. Good content GS
Would love to see a dogfight between the navy variants of the F/A-18 Superhornet and the Rafale!
Bro was tryna hit that drift in mid air lol
Would actually be neat to have the perspective of a person on the ground for a short couple turn fight. Could be a cool short video.
That squish sound on the building 😂
I would love to see the conclusion to round 3 from the opponents perspective as his jet is shredded to pieces.
THAT is more like what I expected Su-27 (etc., etc.,) to be able to do!
Wooo new GS vid thanks man
13:29
Enemy: “I’m on his six!”
GS: “You mean my nose?”
That round 2 “pull up shot” was incredible
All the best to everyone
Sunde with those moves, though 👍
Rough day at the office, decided to go to the beach afterwards. 😂
the dogfight between these planes felt like a dance
10:42 very realistic how the sounds of the guns take time to travel to the camera.
The thing is, I get into dog fights with people, oh you shouldn't fly f16 so slow... then I start thrashing them and it goes quiet. So I'm not sure energy is as important as people make it out to be. You can use a low energy state to draw an over confident pilot into a trap.
I am really surprised at how fast these modern planes catch fire. Reminds me of the WW2 Zeros.
Would like to see some more of the modern MIGs get some attention. Just to shake some things up
That third kill was....🔥
Haven't seen moves like that since bumper cars at a carnival.
that's kind of what i thought. it reminded me of "dogfighting" in a mall car park in the snow.
LOL I notice the Dubai skyline and Think.... "Yeah, there's enough wealth and excess that this could be an activity offered for wealthy tourists... totally! "
4:18 except the pilot's spine is absolutely obliterated after the ejection
