First of all, my sincere thanks to coach Lee Jae Bok whose videos explain the very fine points of Badminton. I am sure that like me everyone must be deriving the benefits of Lee's training videos. I haven't seen any other coach explaining the deep details of Badminton. I wish if I could meet him in person. Seeing this video has changed my play completely! I knew I was using the wrong grip but other videos and coaches did not help me that much. This video gives focus only about the grip and has been made with lot of patience. Thanks to you I am playing the game with much lesser effort and I have great control of the shuttle. Thanks again!

Depending on the situation you are in a few different grips can be used. Same grip as smash when you are taking shuttlecock in front. Ready grip when you are taking side of your body, pan handle grip when you are very much under pressure and have no space and time. Lee

Thanks sosososo much, I started this game recently and I don’t even know how to play.I asked my dad and he just taught me the neutral grip and said this is the only right grip.LOL
After using that grip, I found myself couldn’t hit the shuttle sometimes and even though I hit the shuttle, I feel the way was awkward and I couldn’t transfer my power on the shuttle.
Thanks god I found this Seven-years-old video and I watch it entirely somehowXD. I have found many information about grip but I would definitely say yours is the most detailed one.
Everything I want to say is Thank you.You definitely are one of the most important person for me in this sport.

There are many things to be remembered but if you ask me to choose one thing then I would say "RESPECT" respect your opponent, court, shuttlecock, rackets, umpire, spactaters, the match, respect your self and respect what you are doing at that moment. Ones respect is there everything will be sincere. Lee

What do you mean by "Parallel shots" After any shot you have played, you must go back to middle/ready grip. The reason why you find change grip is difficlt is you may not go back to ready grip after a forehand shot and stay forehand grip. Lee

It is depending how how lose you grip before the impact. Let say at the impact your grip should be 10 out of 10, just before the impact from the seting posture your grip should be 4-5 out of 10. When you do net shot you should grip 2-3 out of 10. there are many players who grip 1 out of 10 just before the smash and resulting losing control and power. Lee

As you have a big hand, you need thicker grip. Please put not too soft grip on the first layer as you mentioned it may be too soft. Then put normal grip on top. Grip size has to be right for each individuals depending on their hand and length of their fingers. I am sorry that I am not able to say what size is good for what size hand players yet.
I am thinking of providing the standard right grip size in the futire. Lee

It is depending your hand sweat. If you sweat a lot then towel grip is good otherwise rubber grip is also good. Lee

That means you may have a lot of power in your finger and hand. Try to make your grip thicker. It is very good thing as you will be able to make powerful shots. Lee

This VDO is very helpful, since wrong grip at start I can't improve myself or go the wrong way.
This help me clear and the right grip can help me generate power especially in backhand play.
By the way, I'm looking for the VDO about little exercise or stretching before playing badminton. Cause I always have problem with my arm after play. any suggestion for this ?
How long should I do stretching and how to do it as well ?
    Thanks coach Lee.

You must give time. Practice the three grips. Ready/nutural grip, backhand grip and forehand grip. Start to grip as ready/middle grip and then change it to backhand grip then comeback to middle grip. change it again to forehand grip then back to middle grip. Spend 30 min a day then you will got it is a few weeks. Lee

No, neutral grip is used for smash defense and smash and clear needs different grip. You can see smash related clip to see it. Lee

Thank you thank you thank you! that explains why I always feel like I am about to break my wrist with just one grip on so many positions. Also, I think depends on you personal preferences, a little change benefits so that you don't hurt your self (In my case I have to change a bit for the smash). Again, big appreciation coach!!!

You should do a lot of swing action practice so your wrist, arm, grip, shoulder, left arm timing will be balanced. This will give you more comfort at the impact. Lee
