There's a funny irony to it. I'll never get over how so many people's definition of "toughness" is in reality supreme ego-tickling weakness. People paying out of the nose because they have some kind of FOMO, to be abused in the hopes of one day becoming an abuser (presumably that's the end game, to also become a screaming maniac that hoses other people down) isn't any kind of real strength of character, it's fragility.

My dad’s a former SEAL and had to go through intense training. He was a SEAL for 4 years as part of a college scholarship deal. It was only when I was like 20 did i woman up and have the courage to tell him to tell his inner drill instructor to take a hike. I genuinely wish he was more emotionally available when I was growing up because our relationship absolutely sucks as of now. I take after him in a lot of ways, and I cant explain just how frustrating it was that I would set aside my pride long enough to have a conversation with him and open up to him only for him to turn around and mock me. Maybe thats just my first-born daughter energy kicking in, feeling like I have to hold it together because no one else will. It really sucks. My advice to parents is: Don’t mock your children when they pour their heart out to you, and certainly don’t subject them to 75 hours of torture. Hell, don’t even subject them to 1 hour of torture. You’ll mess up as a parent, because we all mess up as people. Tell your ego and pride to take a long walk off a short pier, get your head out of your ass, and *apologize.* Apologize when you mess up. My dad’s hardly apologized for anything, I can only think of one instance off the top of my head, and my mind can’t even humanize him if I tried. He seems more like a robotic drill instructor.

As someone who served in military, this is both sad and laughable. I get what they are trying to do, and I can say that army training turned me into a different man. But it took 9 months, not 3 days, and those super intensive moments were thinly spread. They were not what really mold us, it's the discipline, the responsibility over long time what changed us, not that one time our sergeant made us to present him our equipment (which took 6 hours, and we were sweating buckets and bleeding from knees and elbows by the end). Thats a cool/funny story to tell afterwards, but no more than that in long term. Sorry for broken English, my third language.
When I was 14, going through the most insecure part of my life where I felt fat for just breathing, I bought a course that cost $60. My mom said that she’d let me buy it to let me learn a lesson, but I was so sure back then that I’d show her and everyone else. The course included a 15-30 minute long 'thank you' and 'you won't regret this' video, and a link for pre-recorded daily videos of follow-along exercises. No meal plan, no personal trainer, and no results, which the advertisement promised over and over, stressing how different it was. I dropped it within a month even after trying to give it my all. Now I’m 19, and though I always figured I knew better because I never came from a rich family, I can appreciate that I paid $60 I couldn’t afford instead of $18k. It’s easy to laugh at these kinds of videos now, but I really appreciate my mom for letting me experience that.

What makes this extra sad and depressing is that, according to some of the other videos covering this that I’ve seen, most of the guys at these camps are there because their dads, uncles or other male guardians sent them there. I just graduated from Marine bootcamp and I can say that I hate the idea of this project with a passion. This project has you pay to suffer whereas in bootcamp, you suffer to get paid. There is literally nothing to gain from this other than low-self esteem, bankruptcy, and a miserable public image. The transformation from civilian to Marine is hard to explain for me, personally, but bootcamp teaches you to appreciate the shit that you take for granted, to struggle through the physical and mental turmoil, to help your fellow recruits/Marines/teammates/etc., to be more courteous, and to be the best version of yourself. dude my pops always taught me being a man was taking charge of your own life and pulling the strength out of yourself to make the hard decisions that are best for you. thats what makes a man super tough right there, not getting fat biceps and thinking you can beat somebody's ass that just makes you a little cunt
I hate this new trend of, instead of helping men with their insecurities, trauma and mental health, they just make an aggressive and delusional person with even worse mental health issues and a fake vision of what it is to be a man
These men will in turn (if they truly believe it instead of being sent there against their will) spread this bullshit message to others and continue the cycle.
Guys should be taught differently since birth. Men should be free to feel emotions and share them without shame. I hate this bullshit where men are put to go through tough shit and then afterwards mocked for breaking up. It's unhuman. Humans are meant to feel things and share the troubles with others. Not left alone and to forced to avoid reality. In world like ours, everybody needs someone to share their difficulties with and find solutions together. Trying to dismiss one's troubles and forcing them focus onto something else like building amazing physique or becoming the top leader is bullshit. It will only lead into dangerous behaviour where they might hurt themselves or others. Troubles will always follow you, if you keep ignoring them. Society should evolve into accepting that men can ALSO show their emotions, discuss about their troubles and still be seen as strong, independent and cherished.
Advertising itself as something that can heal trauma is such a vile thing to do. Even worse, these kinds of bootcamps are likely to worsen the mental health of their participants by teaching them to: - never reach for help (except when it comes to giving the organisers money) - ignore their own needs (like signs of dehydration and hypothermia) - be constantly paranoid about things that can klll them and their families - use pain as a measure of manliness
Another issue is by promote aggression and dominance seeking behaviour, they're setting these men up for a life time of hostility from others and hyper vigilance. People who treat others like garbage end up with targets on their backs and will open themselves up to a life time of retaliation, scheming and broken relationships.
There's definitely an underlying cultural issue here that needs to be addressed. I hope these guys overcome the cringe of ever being part of this and actually become the men they want to be someday.
If they have 18k to legitimately waste, I don't see what more they could've wanted. Granted there's more to life than money, but that's certainly a nice chunk out of the way. They probably would've benefited way more from some actual therapy to just accept themselves.
@@airraverstaz honestly i have a feeling a LOT of them are on personal loans that was probably suggested by the alpha male boot camp people who get kick backs from the independent lenders that approve said loans
@TreyMM-qz4wg absolutely not, see its simple: any man including redditors that are assertive enough to criticize is more alpha than paying to be humiliated which is the lowest of the low. being paid to be yelled at like in the army is okay because its an exchange (money to follow orders, in a larger goal that resonate with their values) These are emasculated unassertive men, come on dont you see it? the only reaction to being yelled at by a goofball should be to recognize that you are being yelled at by a goofball and stop being yelled at right the second it starts, assert yourself and go home. And they pay to be humiliated and emasculated, redditors, as unmanly as they can be are more manly than that.
@TreyMM-qz4wg Nah. That's how bad this is - literal neck beards are more in touch with who they are as people and more likely to be fine with that. These guys are in a spiraling self worth/identity crisis and paying out the nose to feel like they matter. This is a grift and you can't convince me there's any positive backing it.

Instead of beating 7 bells of crap out of someone, they'll go after the self esteem and confidence in the same way as abusive partners/spouses do. Humans are basically arseholes, even the little humans.
Charlie hit the nail on the head. The true disgusting part is taking advantage of desperate men. Most need a therapy session or two, but instead they think this type of shit is more acceptable. Bad decisions all around but the "leaders" are scamming vulnerable people.

My manager at my first job bought into all that lol Outta nowhere he started explaining what an alpha/beta male was and I swear this dude had to have been roasting me bc when he described beta males it sounded 1:1 exactly like me 🗿🗿🗿
The funniest thing is that even if you buy into the "alpha male" philosophy spreading around these days these courses teach the furthest thing from it. The idea of the alpha male is that they are generally the leader, the trendsetter and they usually project an aura of confidence, this conditioning these men are paying for is not going to amplify these traits, in fact it is going to do the opposite, this sort of conditioning is what the army uses to break down soldiers and make them more subservient to the chain of command, it is not supposed to build confidence but rather strip you of it so that they can build you back up as an obedient member of a unit, only after that will they consider putting you on a training path for a leadership role. All these chuckleheads are doing is the part where they try to break you down and making you pay for the privilege, paying for and going along with this course and serves as proof of how much of a beta male you are and I am not saying this as some sort of zing or attempted insult, going through with this course and putting up with the bullshit of the "instructors" is what by their very own definition a beta male would do.

pardon me but from an european point of view all of that looks soo american, no offence. the alpha male thing, the scam, even the idea of a paid self-improvement pseudo-military class... in the old world we just go see a psychologist if we have a rough moment. if you have 18k in your bank account to waste in that shit, you are not in big troubles are you? just see a professional, you can afford that. in most countries here the idea of an alpha male that provides and defends and shoots the bad guys is so old fashioned it's not even funny. of course that doesn't mean you get to be a usless parasite, don't get me wrong. but at least, in most cases, we don't blame single mothers and we don't mix the army with our daily lives. that's a very american issue, in my opinion. that kind of stuff creates mental health issues, makes men violent and complete Aholes. insufferable pretentious douchebags. i usually avoid that kind of people like the plague.
Last I heard, these boot camps were also accepting children to "provide a great father-son bonding experience." 'cause nothing brings parents closer to their children like traumatizing the crap out of them. -_-

Until you find a better solution to help these men, it’s better you don’t say anything tbh
@@ADollarMightFair point, but no amount of kindness will change the fact that humans are multipersonality zombies. To me most people miss what it means to be a man. It’s not being about super tough. There will always be someone or something tougher than you. What makes you a man is standing for you values and what you believe in. Id rather have someone brave on my side than someone who’s just tough.
dude my pops always taught me being a man was taking charge of your own life and pulling the strength out of yourself to make the hard decisions that are best for you. thats what makes a man super tough right there, not getting fat biceps and thinking you can beat somebody's ass that just makes you a little cunt
I want the guy who's both on my team. Need someone who's either on your level, or gonna balance you out.
How are you going to be brave and not tough and vice versa
Actually what makes someone a man is purely biological and a classification, that's it.
I think both are important
I hate this new trend of, instead of helping men with their insecurities, trauma and mental health, they just make an aggressive and delusional person with even worse mental health issues and a fake vision of what it is to be a man
Well said 👏🏻
Which only manifests itself into a more dangerous and volatile person.

So a group of bullies have found a way to monetize the bullying of insecure men. How revolutionary😂
These insecure men do deserve to be ridiculed for even deciding to spend 18,000 over a watered down military boot camp
putting it this way just deepens my empathy towards these men that got shamelessly exploited. what a f-ed up world we live in
Big brain move if you ask me
Advertising itself as something that can heal trauma is such a vile thing to do. Even worse, these kinds of bootcamps are likely to worsen the mental health of their participants by teaching them to:
- never reach for help (except when it comes to giving the organisers money)
- ignore their own needs (like signs of dehydration and hypothermia)
- be constantly paranoid about things that can klll them and their families
- use pain as a measure of manliness
Didn't ask. My content is superior 🎉
@OfficerBMT sO eDgEY BrUhHhHh
Weak man😂😂😂😂😂
Another issue is by promote aggression and dominance seeking behaviour, they're setting these men up for a life time of hostility from others and hyper vigilance. People who treat others like garbage end up with targets on their backs and will open themselves up to a life time of retaliation, scheming and broken relationships.
So basically just like the military
There's definitely an underlying cultural issue here that needs to be addressed. I hope these guys overcome the cringe of ever being part of this and actually become the men they want to be someday.
It’s happening to largely white guys so you will never hear about it in the main media.
18k to pretend to be Mark Wahlberg in Lone Survivor
This is genius. School yard bullies used to have to gamble if their victim actually has enough money in their pockets. Now they get the victim to hand the money over in advance and then STILL get their rocks off bullying their victim to innflate their little ego and cover their own insecurity 😂
Oh yeah, it was a huge thing when I was growing up. The "bully friend." The guy who does awful stuff and then says "I'm just doing this to make you prepared for the real world."
@@zippedmouthgaming5637 so next level genius bullies? Convince the victim it's for their own benifit to reduce risk of that person turning round one day and laying them out AND make sure they're loaded before wasting time on empty pockets.
Also the "bully friend" is a thing. Dangerous, manipulative little smegs too and far harder to spot than the stereotypical tough kid.
The main guy, Bedros, who started all of this, actively supports therapy. He has said numerous times it was the main thing that helped him push past some behaviors that stemmed from previous childhood trauma fyi

@@sawyerweathers8713 i feel like striving to be better and stronger is something everyone should do regardless of gender
