Love this man, peoples concept of productivity and success needs to change, it's not more more more (calls, meetings, emails, workouts etc.), it's the quality. As you said taking a step back has allowed you to recharge, assess and produce value like you always do! Looking forward to following along in 2025.
Interesting that many of the athlete content creators I follow are either burnout, injured or have taken a break/reduce their commitments. Maybe it's a inevitable consequence of this go one more/sleep when you're dead/goggins mentality. Thank you for being honest Fergus, continuing to inspire but remain relatable & human!
I’d argue that I’m very much not in the Goggins/sleep when you’re dead camp - so hope I don’t come across that way 😂 Business/entrepreneurial and personal demands are what really got me in 2024, and when training is deprioritised it becomes less giving, even sometimes taking for me - which is a challenge given it’s such a core component of the very demands that made it difficult in the first place 😂 whilst also obviously being a huge personal supportive mechanism day-to-day!
Alcohol is horrendous for so many facets of health beyond what you've mentioned. Anything above zero is harmful. It's has 100% negative bias. Any perceived benefit is one kidding themselves. Congrats on being brave enough to sack it off. I also just did my FTP for the first time in 4 years with no bike volume, got 275 at 95kg, I'm excited about building - looking forward to seeing your progress too! All the best 👊🏽
Just wanted to say thanks for all your hard work on the videos! You've definitely inspired me to try and tackle my first half ironman this summer, cant wait for the challenge ahead of me :) keep inspiring!
Good luck for your Goals! It's mit an easy Task to balance Business, social Life and Performance. I struggle with this too. Will get the book you recommended!
We've all done it. As long as you are learning from it and willing to admit it, you've done nothing wrong. We will still follow a true hybrid athlete who has accomplished a lot a lot
