I rarely comment on anything, but prioritizing fun over perfect is super important. I’ve been a competitive (neurotic) endurance athlete in multiple sports, but my best results always come from the periods where I am enjoying training vs perfecting it. Thanks for the reminder.
You motivate me to train for a tri and combine it with weightlifting training, trying to wake up of a darkness time in my life, thanks Fergus greetings from Spain
Nice, hope you recover well. It’s annoying being injured and having events on the horizon. In terms of motivation I have felt recently motivation can wane when i have no objective set. So this year I signed up for the Amstel gold bike race, amateur version 240km plus the etape du tour, both food tests, you should try! I’m a heavy cyclist so hilly terrain is really not suiting me but I do perform reasonably well when I train. Keep it up and love the vids. Also finally I have started adding weights to my routine, to mix it up a bit, was almost fully on bike before, think this helps, but will find out in April.
You did make me feel better at the end of the video, my cycling FTP fluctuates a lit but currently is 250W, and at 80kg I think that’s ok. My aim is to top 300 and drop a few kilos by the summer, but would have to cut out cake and cookies!
I personally stopped focusing so much on barbell squatting and deadlifting and do other variations now. It has helped my previous nagging injuries that I’d always have return and I just feel better overall. It took me a long time to give up the “SBD” mentality but then I realize I don’t compete in powerlifting so why am I doing this to myself.
Hello. Can you make a video on how to get out of burnout if you are already in it? I did a an Xtri in August and 2x in September immediately after and I am SO burnt out. I want to get back into triathlon but I can't get rid of the peripheral fatigue.
Haha so funny story, I have 2 out of 5 points on a video filmed on this - that I abandoned halfway through as I felt like a bit of a fraud given I am currently feeling quite burnt out... I'll pick this back. up in January. Hope you're feeling better!
Great video. One little bit of constructive feedback, you talk incredibly quickly and maybe it's just me but I find it tough to process what you are saying. Could also be that I'm just back from a run and a gym session and my brain has shut down 😂
I do weight training for weight training not for running - but it 100% has benefits for runners when utilised as cross training! I would always suggest it is worked in alongside any endurance training programme, even if for only 45 mins a week.
Totally unique to this session strangely! Weights loose on one side and couldn’t get bar to line up straight on platform with set up which clearly threw things off 🤷♂️

Currently training for the military and found this video very helpful for my program. Thank you very much!
Amazing to hear! Best of luck 🫡

I think it is great when you walk through your split on the board and explain things :)
Thanks for watching!

Dr. Fergus at the whiteboard. 🤓
Quiet at the back please! 😂
😂 I think Dr might be a fair stretch, but thank you for your attendance 📝
Thanks for sharing!
🤝
Morning Fergus what make of knee straps are those as they look very robust. Cheers
Why do you structure a lower lifting session and Turbo ride on the same day? Do you find your ride suffers after the lifting session?
Run Club in Reykjavík please!
You should run a session on photoshopped images and what they say about the mind of the photosopper

@ thank you. I’d love a video about this and I’m sure a bunch of others would benefit as well. Cheers!
I do full body 3 times a week 2 exercises per body part and runs throughout the week do you think that is to much volume I average 20 mile a week
How many sets and reps?
Would need wayyyy more context to answer I'm afraid. What are you training for? How long have you been training? Volume/intensity of each session etc?
Is Monday bench day in the UK too?!
INTERNATIONAL day of chest 🫡

Do you consider weight lifting cross training for runners? Is it just a necessary?

My like is mostly for the Sunday tv show choices
A man of culture I see. A Golden God you could say.
@@ferguscrawley95 Safe to say that we are both 5 star men
Bro your knees drive inward at your initial lift off. Maybe that’s causing pain?
