YES to all of this! I rejected the spoon theory for so long. Too long. Pacing is so hard. I'm starting to also remind myself that I don't need to explain where I choose to use my spoons to anyone. Prioritizing my energy based on MY values!
This is such a good video and series, Hannah! Thank you. I am newly diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and still figuring out how to manage and talk about it with other people, so this kind of info is a valuable starting point for me.
Thank you so so much for doing these videos, im a bit late to the party but these are so helpful and I interesting. I live with chronic ice pick migraines and normal migraines as well as mental health also and we just need more conversation like this! This content is amazing, love your channel, love your videos, you have helped me so much! Keep up the good work. ❤
Thank you for doing this video, it goes into so much detail and advice on chronic illness and how to help ourselves. Needed to watch this as I'm being a bit harsh on myself just now! X
This series is wonderful!! I’m not chronically ill but I am autistic so understand the struggles of managing your energy. You’re helping so many people by giving them tips. Hope you’re doing well and find your small joy of today! 🧡
hi! i admire how educated you are and i'd love some suggestions on where to like read up on like enviromentalism, feminism, capitalism etc. I'd love recommendations on articles, news sources, instagrams, twitters, books etc. 💛
Sure there’s so many haha. Maybe I will make a video that might be easier. My fav intersectional feminist texts would be : bell hooks, hood feminism, Roxane gay, tressie macmillian cotton. Environmental wise it’s ash shakur, Owen Jones and thier platform Novara media. Other news I use Al Jazeera for better coverage of world wide events. Naomi klien is brilliant and George monbiet too for authors. X
I have a smart watch that has just a simple heart beat monitor. I suffer from anxiety so it's good that I can see what my heart rate is doing. Sometimes looking at the number will make me even more anxious but the watch has 'breathing' function where you can choose 1-5 minutes and the watch will vibrate when you need to breathe in/out. It also has an animation on the screen of a circle getting bigger and smaller with your breath. It's really useful to have that function built in because when I need it the most I'm not going to remember to breathe or counting is too hard or with dissociation time doesn't feel real so I don't know how long I've been holding my breath for. Where I am it is legal to buy weed from a certified shop so before covid and everything I went to one that had good reviews and I explained my situation with pain and anxiety and sleeping problems and they explained how everything works and they recommended some specific types that would potentially be helpful for me. I'm not saying everyone should just go and use weed because obviously your lungs are important and I know that irritation in the lungs can also cause a panic attack. But for me it's easier and cheaper than CBD oil.
Oh Hannah, I absolutely love this, I was constantly modding and saying yes 🙌, I hear you. I use cbd oil from my wonderful local friends who run The Tonic in Hebden Bridge, I can highly recommend them 👌. Thank you so much for doing these videos 🥰💜
Definitely going to try that CBD brand, my mum is big into it for her blood pressure (although she takes her prescription as well) and my boyfriend has been trying to get me to take it but 1) I have been a bit skeptical because it's not regulated so it's hard to know what you're getting/requires more research and 2) like you said all the ones I've tried in the past tasted like eating grassy and I couldn't hack it so minty sounds great to me.
Hi Hannah, I can’t tell you how helpful your channel is to me. Today I walked for 20 minutes up the hill and it totally wiped me out but I had to do it because I also have a heart problem as well as my chronic pain in my hips and legs. So I’m out of spoons and it’s late but I can’t sleep. I also suffer from anxiety disorder my whole life and this month is mental health awareness May. I have a son who suffers from mental illness and is homeless so it’s an emotional subject for me as well. I filmed a video on my channel for mental health awareness month and I told my story and his, A little In elegantly, but we’re a holistic people as I said and the mental and physical are equal.I hope you find a few minutes to watch it, if you’re feeling up to it. Sending you healing vibes from Hawaii. Aloha
CBD is some sort of magic! And the science behind it is an exciting new field (postdoc scientist here, maybe one day a grown up scientist who will get funding for such research haaaa) Great and informative video, thanks! Also, your glasses are super cool, where are they from? :D Stay well
ah i hope so too, we need it on nhs already, game changing for chronic pain, my previous prescription pain meds were outtta control. thank you! they are super cheap from glasses direct, like the nana section haha
I’ve wanted to comment to ask what you mean when you talk about ‘spoons’ but I didn’t want to come across as ignorant so I’m glad to finally understand where that comes from 🥰

totally agree, i hate this idea that we should reserve energy for work or specific commitments to please others, our time is so precious!
This is such a valuable video. Also, “Which dog is better?” sounds like the best game. ♥️

This was such a valuable and interesting video thank you! I think many of these things are also relevant to mental health problems as well.
💓💓
Thank you so much for sharing! I've been resisting pacing for so long, partially because I didn't even know how to approach it. This was so helpful!
Oh I’m so glad, it’s such a minefield. I hope these small steps can make a difference for you 💓💓
This has been one of the BEST videos I have watched, like Nicole said hopefully you will keep them coming ♥️♥️
Thank you 🤩🤩
This is so generous of you and tremendously valuable. I wish I could give you all the spoons.
Be kind to yourself. Let others be kind to you.
much love Daniel ❤️❤️
I recommend ear massage for vagus nerve stimulation , it's relatively easy for most people to do a bit of and I find it really helps calm me

🙌🏻💓

That’s ok, yes a very specific metaphor haha. Feel free to ask away though, am a mostly open book 🤩
CBD oil has been so helpful for me wrt pain and sleep, I need much fewer pain meds now 💚
