This is a wonderful apartment. The sofa is fantastic. I love the glass with the fine black frame that they use a lot in Paris. It's so light and distinct but not boxy or oppressive. I would have incorporated some of that style into the kitchen. I see a lot of plywood being used these days. I wonder how it's sealed, as the exposed edges might be a worry (e.g. the door sockets in the kitchen which are touched a lot) as that glue used between the plys can be very toxic. If it's not sealed I would coat those sockets with several layers of non-toxic polyurethane, this would also save it from any moisture creeping in over time. But, they have probably thought about all of that. Thanks for a lovely video, I really enjoyed it.
Very livable space and well designed. Some didnt like the bi-fold kitchen door, I think it is quite attractive and brings a sense of calmness /no kitchen clutter visible.
This home is functional, practical, and full of warm light. I like it. It seems to have a lot of straight lines and sharp edges. I love that they added plenty of storage, and that balcony is perfect!
This is a really well thought out space and I see myself able to live there quite comfortably. The balcony is amazing, running the length of the flat and the natural light is maximized. Amazing 🤩
I do like most of what they've done. Of course it is up to the clients, but I wouldn't have blocked the view to the outside when in the kitchen, and I would have had the bench in dining area have storage space. I would also want curtains in the bedroom or use some kind of window glaze that works as a mirror one way to give bedrm privacy, esp since they have that sofa that doubles as a guest bed! That balcony looks so inviting.
I too loved the detail. The only thing missing was a power outlet inside one of the pieces of cabinetry so that the vacuum could be mounted inside and charged, rather than being in the line of sight from the bed. But it's a beautiful, warm and inviting space otherwise.
The kitchen design looks really simple, but it is very well designed. The kitchen furniture looks of good quality. The lighting may seem too simple, but there are a few things that are usually hard to find in the market. That uniqueness makes the house more classy.
Some comments suggest the doors to kitchen are good as they block noise and kitchen odours (something I empathise with) but since the opening from kitchen to the dining room lets those out anyway, the doors therefore don't achieve that goal. Personally I feel they make the living area feel smaller, though it's hard to assess just looking at photos. ... I love the verriere. 😊
I would have liked to have seen the kitchen doors have black framed frosted windows in the top half to pass more light but not the odors/noise, otherwise to me the apartment is great.
So sad, that the wardrobe doors don't match the wood of the main joinery. Why didn't they just put simple white doors or put matching veneer on the Wardrobe doors?
The apartment is quite large for Paris and the balcony is incredible. The kitchen door is clunky; maybe a pocket door would work. ALL the furniture looks so uncomfortable including the fancy couch. The wood looks a bit cheap to me.
Very nice! The multi use settee/bed was particularly clever and I really like the glass partition separating bedroom and living area but still giving a feeling of space. I'd happily live there.
Love to see how new construction resulted in this space being supremely adapted. The little entrance/foyer paired with a half bath in such a small space is excellent. Just enough storage in there for 2 people who live in a city and buy just enough stuff.
I like the separation of rooms by interesting dividers such as windows, folding doors and opaque surfaces. But I do not understand how a “hotel-feeling/experience” can be counted as a plus though
I see at least two problems: you can’t use fridge when kitchen doors are closed, as fridge is part of the doorframe. Second is ps5 is located in small closed cabinet with likely no additional ventilation. So it will overheat in no time. The project itself is cool and carpentry skills are superb but there are a lot of things that were not given a thought when planning.
The carpentry works very prominently featured but that dominates the ambience giving it a feel of partitioned office rather than a home. I feel space could have been used more open planned and to combine the balcony as an integrated one large space without these partitions ,still having storage spaces to give demarcated areas within a one whole😊
This is, perhaps, the smartest designed apartment I have ever seen! Thank you for the inspiration vis-a-vis the use of low materials in very stylish ways. Here's to warm minimalism!
nice. I don't like the color scheme, though. the black bedroom door and windows are a bit disruptive. White, green or even a bright color would work better, I think.
Style, design, colour all bring this small place to an inviting home. I would choose a few more softer touches and maybe sheer blinds in the bedroom...the kitchen door is definitely not needed the balcony is great space that adds extra value...
The fluted glass shot @6:56. Beautiful work 🫡 Love this home. Thank you @nevertoosmall for showing these beautiful homes. Happy new years to you and your staff!
Space design is very efficient, curated and flexible: love also the sofa. Not so sure about some other choices:That bench seems heavy and uncomfortable, I think other solutions would have worked better and provide more flexibility. For the Bedroom glass partition I would have used the same glass of the kitchen to allow the light to pass thru while maintaining some level of privacy, the kitchen doors seems very unpractical: I guess they will only be used to hide the mess in sporadic situations.
This was clever and practical. Changes a plian space into something very livable in. They clealy listened to their clients and this is a long-term conversion as I can see several demographics living in there. Well done.
having a mostly enclosed kitchen is a good idea in a small space so steam & cooking smells don't spread throughout the house. The kitchen table bench is lovely and you can pass through food from the kitchen to the table.
Love the design, materials used, and the overall lightness and airiness of the space. I was surprised at how much storage they were able to create in this relatively modest size apartment. One thing I would've considered is having a way to create privacy for the bedroom, (curtains that can drawn), when someone is sleeping and someone else is in the living room, or a guest is staying over. Other than that, it's really well designed.
Another lovely Paris flat! Are all Paris architects brilliant? ;) I'm constantly in and out of my kitchen and would get tired of opening and closing the doors, so if this were my apartment, I'd eliminate the kitchen doors / leave the kitchen open to the rest of the apartment. It's lovely kitchen, I feel no need to hide it. I would hide the bedroom, however, by using a glass with more distortion in it, like the fluted glass in the kitchen wall, so that guests couldn't easily see into the bedroom.
That sofa and kitchen light are genius. The only thing I do not like are the cut-out handles to open the cabinets. They collect dirt. Thumbs up otherwise.
I really like the overall look and feel of this design. Light and airy. The custom cabinets with the inset round finger pulls are especially nice and pleasing to look at. There are only a couple of short comings for me. The pulls on the clothes storage in the bedroom are jarring compared to the beautiful simplicity of the other cabinets. The unfinished interiors of some of the cabinets makes their facades feel tacked on like plywood in a garage and not custom joinery. Oh, the bifold kitchen door looks nice, but appears cumbersome to use on a daily basis.
@ it certainly can be. Plywood is of a particular aesthetic which I like when furniture grade plywood is used. If builder grade underlayment is used it looks horrible.
The apartment is beautiful, but the kitchen doesn't need to be closed off. It would be better if the kitchen were open to create a more spacious feel, especially in a small apartment.
This is a usefull design, we so so many small spaces that are designed for the sake of design. This is a space people lives and it shows. Love this video
Honestly this was one of the more uninspiring designs I've seen on NTS. Not bad, just meh. I particularly don't like the kitchen bifold doors.. I think it would be annoying to open and close them (I come and go frequently from any kitchen) and I don't get what the benefit of "hiding the kitchen" is, especially given the clear cabinets and plate passing opening on the other side.
As the first poster mentioned - you already have an opening to the table. Which is needed for ventilation. So the bifold doors seem overkill for me too. But it's not easy to have a door there that won't impact the kitchen - because left and right are cupboards. Maybe something like a saloon door would be more practical, cause otherwise those doors will just stay open. I do think there was something missing here - maybe art and plants. Otherwise the flat seems a bit cold - without much personality.
'Hiding the kitchen' seems to be a design trend I've noticed across many of these projects - I don't get it either, it's a kitchen, it's part of your home, one you spend quite a bit of time in actually - it's okay that it exists.
really love the kitchen and storage in the main living room; very beautiful. I also really love the glass window/metal wall/metal & glass door. I thought since there is a window for the bedroom and not a full height galss wall, the bed might be under it but instead it was placed on the opposite wall to the partition. That was confusing. If the bed is facing the apartment and it is not up against the glass/metal wall why not a full length glass wall. idk there is also something strange to me about the wraparound storage unit with the bed unceremoniously inside. the small home office bench smushed up against one side. with the hanging closet in a different wood on a diffferent wall. I am not a designer so what do I know. it just looks cluttered and strange. I might have built a wall to wall cabinet in the bedroom mirroring the kitchen box with built in home office space/hanging closet/other storage on the opposite side. then one could build a nook for the bed where the hanging closet is with a wooden (box like) canopy on the side walls, full height headboard, and the ceiling too--all in the a different wood as the other cabinetry but then the accent makes sense as aplace for rest (just for the bed) and not storage. one could imgaine putting floating shelves in the custom canopy unit and then the view from bed is of the blacony/outisde and not a half view of the apartment/kitchen box.
Party pooper alert: the door to the kitchen seems pointless if there is another opening for smells and light to penetrate, the opening for passing plates does not allow you to see the person on the other side, making kitchen needlessly closed-off from dining area, there are no mirrors or art to welcome the person entering the flat, storage access to the corner space looks like a nightmare, dining bench makes my back hurt just looking at it. Too bad, there are too many devils in the details here.
I always wondered if the hidden fridges and dishwashers work in long term. Won't they overheat in such a small space? How do maintenance work? What if there is a need to replace the machine but you couldn't find a suitable one? I've seen a lot of design like this in the channel and these questions always puzzle me.
I've wondered about all of this as well. And particularly when an appliance goes out it sometimes must be replaced if repair isn't possible. While built-in looks very cool it can be expensive and more challenging to repair or replace. Future maintenance and repair should always be considered. ( Aside from that I find this apartment to be stark and uninviting. Furniture looks uncomfortable, too.)
Very clever design and use of storage. On the negative side, I would like blinds or curtains for the bedroom. On winter mornings you have to go outside to raise outer blind? Personally I would have to have some art on the walls. Always nice to see a bed that doesn’t need ropes and crampons to get into!
Roller shutters usually have a switch or crank inside to move them up or down, you won’t have to go outside to raise the blinds. I’ve only ever lived with hand cranked ones, but if that switch plate by the bedroom balcony door is any indication I think theirs are electric 😊
@ Ahh, never really come across them here (uk). Whilst I can see they’d do the job of cutting out light at night I would have thought in a place like Paris in the winter some curtains (at least in the bedroom) would be cosier.
@@grigorisgirl They’re excellent, very good for blocking out light and noise! Even in summer I’d wake up late and not even realize the sun is out and bright until cracking the shutters open 😅 in the video he says they didn’t want the “visual clutter” of curtains, so it’s more a personal choice on his end it seems, cause I agree, curtains are so nice to have! Especially sheer ones that let in some light while giving a little bit of privacy when drawn (or float so nicely in a summer breeze with the balcony doors open 💖)
It’s cheap, has a wood texture, is relatively easy to work with, and can easily create cohesion in a space. It can look quite stylish, but to me it often just looks cheap and simple. It often looks like it isn’t quite finished.
Yes, I don’t understand a desire to make one’s home feel like a hotel room. Hotel rooms are typically bland, lacking personality, in an effort to accommodate everyone and challenge no one. They are like plain white rice, nice once in a while but boring daily.
Many people don't seem to want a lot of personality in their space. I don't understand it, but whatever floats your boat, I guess. I will say that spaces like this one are very clean looking.
Which samsung fridge is this? It's been converted to appear integrated wheich means it has a zero clearance hinge. I recognise the white sliders put on after purchase. This is a great way to create an integrated fridge without breaking the bank.
I wonder if vertical blinds in a matching wood look could be installed on a track inside the bedroom. If i were to have a party I would not want guests to be able to simply look into my bedroom, as that should be a private space.

The specific ideas are wonderful and I love the kitchen, especially, the fridge positioning and integration. So cool! Nonetheless, the whole apt layout is weird (I do not know how much the architects had a saying). It's 47 m². Yet, all "rooms" seem small. I live in a 36,4 m² studio and my kitchen looks bigger (relatively to this) and I have a proper desk in my "bedroom" (my "bedroom" and living area are separated by custom-made wooden room dividers, but are actually one room). The hugest drawback is where the bathroom is located. No direct connection to the living room or any hall, whatsoever. I hope the architect couple suggested a rearrangement and the client rejected or it cannot be rearranged for whatever reason, 'cause this is bad, really bad. And it's a pity 'cause the ideas are intriguing, in all honest. Last but not least, any dining sitting furniture with no cushion is a torture.

The kitchen makes it feel smaller, same problem I had in my previous rent. I Would have chosen a small island or open kitchen. The rest, lovely.
I love this design! I want to experience it in person. Such a smart use of space for a bright and airy feel.
Nice! Flexible options. Like the tuck away kitchen concept🎉
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS and PRACTICAL!
I like the separation of rooms by interesting dividers such as windows, folding doors and opaque surfaces. But I do not understand how a “hotel-feeling/experience” can be counted as a plus though
I really like the choice of metal outlets and switch plates - this choice elevates any apartment. The choice of finishes are very sophisticated.
I love this, the French seem to have small space design nailed!
What an awesome space, cleaver, stylish and totally liveable - well done - great content. We love NTS.
Style, design, colour all bring this small place to an inviting home. I would choose a few more softer touches and maybe sheer blinds in the bedroom...the kitchen door is definitely not needed the balcony is great space that adds extra value...
Votre accent anglais est impeccable, bravo !
By far one of the best appartments shown here
The fluted glass shot @6:56.
Beautiful work 🫡
Love this home.
Thank you @nevertoosmall for showing these beautiful homes.
Happy new years to you and your staff!
Thank-you!! Happy new year to you too x
love the space ... the room i would like without windows. the couch is amazing design!!! the service bathroom genius the other is inside the bedroom.
Unbelievably Magnifique 🎉!!!! Very Chic, Creative & Clever ❤
Yes! I always love the Paris appartments!
I love this flat! Just beautifully designed.
Love that sofa!!!❤
It's one of my favorite videos, I really Iiked it! The atmosphere in the apartment is so calming and relax...
Way too much plywood, makes the place look cheap and unfinished
I love that couch.
I came here to say this! Would love to know the source of those re-positionable back cushions, which would be great in many locations.
Another lovely Paris flat! Are all Paris architects brilliant? ;)
I'm constantly in and out of my kitchen and would get tired of opening and closing the doors, so if this were my apartment, I'd eliminate the kitchen doors / leave the kitchen open to the rest of the apartment.
So often I see plywood used on bespoke cabinets. It is boring, and sometimes even ugly.
Heavy cabinets over head is not good for bedroom fengshui. 😢
Beautiful, airy and spacious.
This is a usefull design, we so so many small spaces that are designed for the sake of design. This is a space people lives and it shows. Love this video
Nice design, but I think the seating element in front of the kitchen could have been integrated into the outer wall of the kitchen.
I don't see any reason the kitchen should be closed...The entire place doesn't feel like home...
It lacks beauty. Practical and pretty/handsome designs appeal the most to people.
Hiding the kitchen minimizes the kitchen smells from reaching the rest of the flat
Beautiful !!!
Love the space, it’s perfect.
I LOVE it! ❤
Why is plywood used in almost every appartment shown on this canal, especially the ones designed by an architect?
It’s “cool” this moment, but won’t age well.
It’s cheap, has a wood texture, is relatively easy to work with, and can easily create cohesion in a space. It can look quite stylish, but to me it often just looks cheap and simple. It often looks like it isn’t quite finished.
the most beautifull apartment
With all do respect, a bit misleading title, in Europe, 49sqm is definitely not small :)
Magnificent. I could live there.
Everything ... but the sofa, in the middle of the room!? TOP. :D
I like the design but at this point the "working" area is basically a meme on this channel.
Love this space!❤
You can't make something have a deliberate 'hotel experience' vibe and then say it feels like home.
Love the apartment and the whole project, beautiful! Did you use 10mm plywood panels for the cupboards? Merci 😊
Beautiful.
I wonder if vertical blinds in a matching wood look could be installed on a track inside the bedroom. If i were to have a party I would not want guests to be able to simply look into my bedroom, as that should be a private space.
Very well designed.
Very beautiful flat with great features but the blue vacuum hanging openly in the bedroom is horrendous.
amazing balcony !!!!!!!
