This bag is really fun! It could be your one bag choice when expanded - functioning like a travel duffel bag- or it could be a sling for your 1.5 travel carry - which is how I used it.
Totally agree with you on that big back pocket - when I put a laptop there it makes the bag wear entirely differently and for me a lot less comfortable. I actually "sandwich" my laptop or tablet in the main compartment among softer things (e.g. clothes) - that actually makes the bag a lot more comfortable.
I pride myself on bringing unusual bags to my viewers - new, vintage, experimental, etc. I appreciate you watching. I reached out to the team at Held Closely - as they don't yet have an "About Me" section up and running on their site. Here's what they shared: Headquarters in Austin, TX. US made Fabrics (Ultra). Bags constructed in Dongguan, China. As they grow and become established, manufacturing base may change. Hope this helps!
Well, the more you fold this thing, the thicker it gets (think about how thick construction paper gets and how hard it gets to fold after a few folds. I’d pack this two ways: 1. Fold in half and slide bottom of larger bag, or roll it up and pack it rolled.
never seen so much joy, smiles and miles around bags. thanks for making these vids! how small does this fold down into? also do you know of any equivalent ultra lightweight messengers. maybe less organization and lower quality. But still comfortable, lightweight, packable and expandable?
It's by no means ultralight at 330 grams and 14L capacity, but the new Yoyogi messenger from Chrome's district collection is probably the lightest messenger bag I've tried. I think lightweight packable messengers are probably a pretty small niche, since crossbody bags larger than a sling usually benefit from some degree of structure in order to be worn comfortably. There are plenty of very lightweight totes and tote packs out there, though.
Hey thanks!!! You can fold this down fairly small - but there are lighter messengers out there. The Yoyogi mentioned below is a good recommendation - as is the Matador X Carryology Collab. Here's one to check out too - www.boundarysupply.com/products/rennen-shoulder-bag?variant=39638570893370
Also - you can customize a large bag from Rickshaw and make it with xpac www.rickshawbags.com/bags/messenger-bags/large-zero-messenger?Binding%20%28%240%29=83205098&Inside%20%28%240-%2420%29=83205016&Label%20%28%240%29=83205146&Outside%20%28%2420%29=83204961

Gonna keep an eye on this brand for sure. Hopefully they'll be able to bring down the price point a bit.
This bag looks awesome! Thanks klint!
Great video! Literally the only review on UA-cam. Can you tell us if you know where the company is based and where the bag is made? Thx

What an awesome review. This seems like a real sleeper. Thinking of picking one up. Do you think you’ll keep using it moving forward?
Yes I anticipate keeping and using this bag.
Can you post a short how small it folds? That would be great!

The Rennan isn't expandable. Check out the Cotopaxi Del Dia bags - all fairly packable

Held Closely IG showed that it can be packed as small as a 1L nalgene bottle.
Just ordered the V2 version. Grey/white is no longer an option. I ended up with the black on black. Should be delivered tomorrow. I can’t wait!
Hope you love it!
Love the review. Watching from Australia. I hope I can get one. Thanks mate.😀
Welcome to the channel!
