Common Good Plant Sale - tips for holding a plant sale

- Are you planning a local plant sale as part of our 'Common Good Plant Sale' on 11th May? Or maybe you have a date set later in the year? We'd hoped to host a Live At Five Q&A but that's now not possible, so we've recorded this ad-free clip instead.
If you have questions about plant sales which aren't covered in the clip please add them to the comments on the clip and Georgie will answer when she gets chance.
You may be experienced in plant sales and have tips of your own to share - do add them to the comments on this clip. .
We've also got a plant sale playlist on UA-cam and more background to the Common Good Plant Sale is available on the website. This includes information on where we know plant sales are taking place on or around 11th May. If you'd like us to add you to the list please email club@commonfarmflowers.com with details - date, time, venue, who you are hoping to fundraise for and a contact (eg instagram) for more information if available.

E did a plant sale by the master garden community here. The garden books and magazines did well. We also sold old pots and tools which went over very well. Keeping you parents in my prayers and hoping your father gets well soon.

Thanks for teaching n encouraging us to all do a plant sale I just talked with my neighbor about doing 1 also going to a plant swap at my local library going to talk with other gardeners about it . Sending prayers for your dad to feel better quickly 🙏 🌼 🌿 👍 😊

Your passion oozes. I can’t believe all these volunteers, Australian culture has declined to “leave it ,someone else will do it , I’m too busy” then no one helps it’s awful or it’s always the same volunteers all the time! Love your plants wish I could come! Great value at $£2

Yes! We can do it! I’ve got a couple hundred flower seedlings growing on over here on the big island of Hawai’i. I also enrolled for a bachelor horticulture program at Colorado State University- Online. Getting my professional education to reach my goals.

Thank you for a wonderful video. Your organizational skills are quite evident, no wonder your business thrives. I’m sure there were items you mentioned that some might not have considered. It was just like sitting there in person working out the details of the sale. I thought maybe someone had, without telling me, put my name in to be on committee, lol.😂. I’m trying to work out the details to use this in my area. It’s somewhat unusual as we are very, very rural, an hours drive to any town. So I have to figure out a way to bring people out of the mountains to attend/participate in the sale. Also, continuing prayers for your father, you and your family. TeresaSue

Our group wears t shirts with club name, so buyers know who belongs to the sale, etc. like the idea of aprons. We also hold a bake sale, especially pies and cakes..we get $12 for a pie! We give a scholarship to a graduating senior going into a horticultural type college. We make origami roses for cancer patients in hospital. Every month our program is educational and offered to the public. We de orate a Christmas themed child’s bedroom for a local Historical Society. Years ago our group did plant various gardens for public display around the city, it now we are mostly senior citizens so we try to help in non-physical ways!

Thanks for the info. Our friends group are having a plant sale on May 19th in our local country park, all profits go back into our park. How do you know if your plants ( some are donated ) have PBR.
Generally the plants donated to us are labeled fairly generic names and not sold as special varieties - if I spotted something I might check and possibly refuse to sell it - but generally plants brought to our sale are labelled 'tomato' or 'cosmos.'
Would it be possible to have the blue logo/banner you are using for The Common Good plant sale as a template to put on our promo material?
