I'm still constantly amazed by this hack. Not only because of all the mechanics they added to the basic SMB framework, but also by the amount of content and stellar level design. This is truly one for the history books.
I'm still pretty sure this was built on Metroid/Kid Icarus with some SMB3 thrown in, not SMB1. But it's AMAZING work all the same!
The QRs lead to character quotes from Genshin Impact.

The tragic "Et tu, Mari?" message i thought was supposed to be from Yoshi eventually appearing, seems to be from the propeller cap instead. Shadow marios are very frightening and nerve racking. This game is challenging enough in standard mode, next vid is going to be all the more intense.
i like how going down a pipe immediately upon landing still shows mario walking. i always liked doing that, and im glad it wasn't patched in this highly modified and polished romhack 😌

This hack was amazing, but I think it's funny to see a mario game that has only 1 mushroom in the main story and it's halfway through. I like that even though I don't really understand it
This rom hack really is amazing! I'm just glad you're here to play it. 😁 It looks uh... pretty involved. Not that I'm a slouch at retro games or anything, but it seems like a lot to remember over the course of playing it. That and remembering to put all the things you've learned to use over the course of the game. Maybe it isn't so bad if you are sitting there playing it. I've never played Celeste. The closest thing that I've played that it kind of reminds me of is VVVVVV, which I love. I've beaten that one many times over. I really look forward to the next part seeing you go through the bonus content!
I think if you think of it like a Metroidvania, but with movement tech instead of fighting, it's not any more complicated.
Lots of skill-based games, in fact, if you see someone playing it late game, you'll be like "that's insane, how is he doing that?" But, then you play it, and by the time you get there, you're doing the same thing.
Thanks again for turning me onto this game! Just finished it myself with only 50 moons. What a great series and I look forward to more of the Rom Hack Wednesdays now!

I forgot where the original music come from,it's a remix of the underground BGM but this music was made by Nintendo. The first Hack included this music was Extra Mario Bros
I love the Cosmic Clones part of this hack, but everything have been hella amazing so far with everything. Hard to even believe it's just a ROM hack of Super Mario Bros.

These guys are amazing. I never would have thought this was possible on a stock NES, but here we are. If only I could find a program to patch .bps files. I guess I'll just have to figure out how the format works and write a patcher.

The QR code at 5:14 is text in latin that reads:
-Fiam uxor tua cum adoluero, equitissa honoraria! -Me paenitet, Klee - Iam canis sum Kamisatonis Ayakae.
which Google Translates to:
- I will become your wife when I grow old. knight of honor! -I'm sorry, Klee - I'm no Kamisaton Ayaka's dog.
Googling that seems to imply it's a Genshin Impact referece, i.e., not worth the effort.

Can anyone explain why when I patched this rom, the information at the bottom of the screen was all garbled whilst the gameplay was still fine?

@@Kosmicd12 I'm super confused. Maybe it's a cut? It looks like you went into the enclosed area, which had moons and a door, picked up the moons, didn't go in the door, then moved away and used fast travel.
Oh, there was an 11 second cut.
(My timestamp was wrong, but coincidentally the door did come on screen just after it.)
