Awesome review! I have a pair of these as well. This extra padding model is probably their best option for sparring compared to their original.
Genaro Carrillo Thank you! Yeah, I agree, I think these would be the better option for sparring in compared to the traditional Cleto
Hi. Your description is accurate. I own a number of gloves, including cleto training gloves. These are my favorite gloves for power pumching.
Great work again. Would bee cool to see you in action on the bag/mitts with the gloves you review as well👊🏻
I plan on adding that sort of footage just as soon as gyms open back up where I live. Hopefully soon! 🤞🏼
Great review, thanks :)
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Nice review and impressive opening style. IMO I like Cleto’s feed back pop and the little bit sore when I am throwing heavy punches on mitt or bag but the weight is really heavy. If I had not bought the traditional one, I would definitely buy this. They are sick.
Thanks! Cleto's have GREAT pop. Surprisingly, the Venom Hammer gloves have excellent pop too and are more comfortable IMO. Surprised me since they aren't a traditional boxing brand. Check out my Loma Venom glove video if interested.
Excellent review brother. No rambling or BS, straight to the important points. Do you do Muay Thai or kickboxing too? I'm mainly a Muay Thai guy and was curious how these gloves would do for that.
Thanks man! I don’t do Muay Thai or kickboxing. I think these might be too bulky and hard to clinch with, but I haven’t tried personally, just a thought.
I was in fight camp years back and my special order 12 oz Cleto Reyes through my local boxing store was taking too long.
So the guys were kind enough to loan me these in 14oz and damn do I feel like knowing my hands were protected I could send bombs into the heavy bag.
Made my opponent quit on his stool at the end of the second round as once I was in fight gloves that power translated and was ripping body shots.
Just bought myself a pair now as I am about to enter a "dry run" camp again as I've been off for a while
Thanks for the review, just picked these up... love them. I definitely prefer these over my hook and loop Cleto’s. I don’t feel the extra weight.
Thanks! Glad you like them!
@@JordanMilleronyoutube Hey, great video but I only use everlast boxing training 12oz gloves!
Hi Jordan - how does this compare with the Fly X Superlace/Superloop? I'm choosing between these two. Thanks in advance
I didn’t get on with these at all. The thumb positioning was wrong and I’d catch it awkwardly every time I’d land a punch. This hasn’t happened with any other gloves I’ve used. Thanks for the review. Much appreciated. 🙏🏻
Thank you for the comment! Thumb position is a common issue for people and Cleto gloves unfortunately
I bought a heavy bag and some Everlast Pro lock training gloves (velcro) for $66 at Dick’s sporting goods and I wish I would have know about these gloves first lol I might just buy these and keep my everlast just in case. I’m just stuck in the color lol I like the black with red but these red with black are super clean!
These should last you a long time. Very durable leather.
They are great gloves I have used mine for over a year still the good quality but they put more protection like a winning but more. Worth getting if you really want to train in Reyes gloves
Thanks for the feedback!
Hey Gilbert, I'm looking at either getting the Winning MS-600-B or the Cleto Reyes Extra Padding. After your experience with both, would you say the Winning is worth spending twice the cost? Do you think the Cleto Extra Padding version would be a more appropriate contender against the Winning as compared to the Cleto original version? I would use them as an all purpose glove since I can't buy multiple version, but I have Fairtex BGV1's now and have already injured my knuckles with those and want more protection so I can keep punching without hurting myself! Thanks!
is normal reyes not good for training
i got a pair of regular cleto reyes, ive been trining for only two months, the fit is incredible, i tought reviews about the wuality were exagerating just because of the brand name, but i can tell you these things are suoerb, i ily train like 5 hours per week and they hold uop and feel really good, since ive never tried other pair of any other brand or any other than the regular cleto i dont know how the thumb feeling changes, but since ive seen vdeos about the extra padding and that they are a bit better, do you think i dhould go for the extra padding?
If the traditional are working for you, stick with them. These can get too heavy and be harder on the wrist
Had to make a question asking since iv'e been considering these and other gloves from the well known brands that I know I would like. But iv'e run into sort of a conundrum you see I like the protection padded gloves give me since while my wrists never hurt no matter how hard i punch. My knuckles do however badly do to the fact iv'e always had small hands but big punching power. Long stories short do you know of any gloves that gives the big padding protection and coverage of say a Winning set of gloves with the pop and sting of a low padded mexican glove. Iv'e never found a glove that gives me both which I need. Cause the opponents i spar are usually way bigger stronger and tougher as such they shrug off shots like they're nothing.
HitNMove Balance is very protective and has good pop. I have some UA-cam shorts or TikToks using them if you want to listen
Does your hand feel tighter in them when you wear them with glove hand wraps and how long you think it takes to break them in? Thank you
Yeah, wraps fill up the space more, but they’re still pretty roomy. I’d say 2-3 weeks of good use and they feel broken in enough. They continue to break in after that too.

I would use these as an all around glove; I wouldn’t spar in these. That said you don’t have to get Winning MS-600. If you can afford it, and need an all around glove, I’d choose Winning over these.
Just got mine in today, they're too padded, literally feels like pillows to me....similar to winning. Im more used to the older traditional Cletos, i like feeling impact. These are great for sparring tho, protect your dance buddy and yourself
Your review is spot on tho! Great stuff, "subscribed"
Yeah, if you like feeling the impact, these gloves are too padded. Check out Fly if you haven't (I have a review of them). I feel my shots through the padding but they're still protective enough that I haven't injured my hands.
Thank you sir! Appreciate it very much! 🙏🏼
@Matthew Thomas-erwin coz I wanted to try them out, easy as that
I’m thinking that it’s time to get my first pair of cleto reyes gloves. I’m torn between getting the Original Hook and loop training gloves or these extra padding gloves. I spar every Saturday and Monday thru Friday is bag work. Do the originals provide enough protection for sparring?
Originals should provide enough protection. You’ll want to break them in well before sparring in them.
Hey Jordan! Great video! I had the same question - I'm going back and forth between the hook and loop and these gloves. I don't spar, only do bag work. What's the main difference between these and the hook and loop gloves? Thanks!
The padding is thicker in these and the hand compartment isn’t as big. I would recommend these for bag work.
@@JordanMilleronyoutube Awesome thank you very much!
Have you tried the Reyes super bag gloves?
Sorry, I have not
Which ones are the best for heavy bags, the traditional ones or those with extra cushioning?
I would use these out of those 2 choices
What glove in your opinion has the best crack, feedback and pop on a bag? Your number 1 and number 2
#1 would be 1v1 horsehair gloves. #2 would be Venum hammer
Which boxing gloves are your personal favourites? Just curious
Sooo many, lol. Just depends on what I’m doing in training that day. Fly, winning, 1V1, and Rival make some of my favorites
Which would you recommend between these and Rival's RB10 for bag and mitt work?
Rival RB10
@@JordanMilleronyoutube thank you very much. I'm almost there, now to select between the RB10's and the Fairtex BGV9 Mexican Heavy Hitter
Would you reccomend the 16 oz of these for sparring
Personally, I don’t like Cleto gloves for sparring. These are quite dense as well, so I wouldn’t want to spar in these
Are the skulltec gell pads able to fit in these?
For sure. Definitely room for those.
I'm torn between these and the fly x. What do you prefer between the two and why?
Fly X for sure. More comfortable, better wrist protection
Bought it rexently cause i suffered a boxersfracture 2 months ago we shall see if its nice.
Good luck
and two years later ? what's your best bag gloves in your opinion ?
Get some rivals they’re some great gloves for the good price
Does it make the gloves heavier?
In my experience Cleto training gloves are always quite a bit heavily than their tag weight. These feel heavier and a tad top heavy.
Would you prefer these or Hayabusa t3?
I haven’t tried Hyabusa yet, so I’m not sure
I ordered these gloves to use at home on a 150 lb Ringside heavy bag. I wanted them to be my heavy bag gloves for years. However, after one week I continued to get numbness and pain in the right thumb and hand . I sent them back and received a full refund. I'm still trying to find a replacement for the long lasting and comfortable Ringside Ultimate bag gloves I used for years.
Ouch! I’m sorry to hear that man. If you’re ok with synthetic leather, Rival makes gloves specific for bag work and the ergonomics are good, so they comfortable. Personally, I like their sparring gloves for bag work. They’re durable due to synthetic leather, comfortable, and protect your hands well
FAIRTEX
palm part has a pad? i used dutch drills regular version palm part fell in apart
anathema01 Palm doesn't really have any padding on these gloves
Dude your literally on every single video involving Reyes and talking shit about them, most people have Reyes for years and have no problems 🤦🏽♂️
what is your hand size?
Medium. Palm is 8.5cm wide
i would take 14 oz of those lace up.
👍🏼
But your not wearing hand wraps. With hand wraps on you can barley move your hand....
👍🏼
