another good review! I've always loved the variety of 18oz gloves....
That thumb position is how some schools of Okinawan Karate teach bare knuckle punches because it engages the brachealis muscle in the forearm and the interossi muscles of the hands and metacarpals to stabilize the wrist and hand bones like wraps.
Could you maybe do a video where you show us what’s in your bag or what you take to boxing/sparring sessions?
Thanks you for this bro
Great video, bro
I’m 6’3 260. Just ordered some 18oz Cleto’s but I might get the hayabusa’s leather T3 to spar in.
Nice review bro
Do these hold well with an elastic lace? I noticed yours didnt wrap around the triple cuff, do you think it would hold better if you did do that? Good enough wrist support for the bags?😁🙏🥊
SO WHICH GOLVES DO YOU RECCOMEND FOR BAG AND MITT TRAINING ?
I’ve been using 16 oz gloves and i want to increase my punching speed. Should I buy 18 oz gloves to help out my hand speed?
how much weight the 14oz extra padding version have?
in the video you said, the padding flattens with time using them on the bag. in the comments you say it could be a myth because they haven't flattened. therefore would you say you can use them on both bag and sparring? (I believe they are intended to be used for both and pads no?)
I've heard that these aren't good for heavy bag training as the the latex is very soft and your knuckles go right through, and that the wrist support isn't very good either so it may injure wrists more easily. Is that an issue for you?
what do you think about hybdrid model medium size ? is it good as regular model
Kuya, how tf do your logos still stay? Mine started to peel off after 3 days of light use... lol.
I’m 5’10 165 what oz gloves should I buy
Can you use laced gloves without having someone put them on for you
Great channel man. I want a pair of Reyes, but worry about the amount of protection they offer since they are more of a punchers gloves to inflict the most damage possible. Would you say their training gloves offer enough protection for your hands and sparring partners?
has cleto reyes fixed the thumb?
when you hit pads with the 18s do they still give a nice hard connection even though you said they are softer?
Do you think 18oz is too big for me? I weight 152 right now but am losing weight
Awesome review!
How would you compare these gloves to the Infinitude gloves for bag work/sparring?
Keep up the great content!!
Thanks!!
could i use these for sparring
6’1 205lbs what should I get?
My 16oz Reyes gloves feel too small for me. The piping on the thumb compartment is too tight. Would you recommend the 18oz? Will they likely solve this problem? I'm 6'2 210lb
My hand circumference is about 22 cm/8 and a half inches, do you think i should go for 16 oz or 18 oz? I used to have a 14 oz but sold em because it was too thight
@@ThatBoxingGuy i'm 5'11" and weight about 170-173 lbs, i'll use the gloves for heavy bag not sparring
Sir how much that Cleto Reyes gloves? 16oz gloves.
Does the white get dirty?
How long have you been boxing?
I heard that they made a new version of the reyes where the padding is more dense somewhere ard 2012-2013 and like the older version is the one where the padding is super soft, kinda like the everlast mx training gloves. I never owned a pair of reyes from before 2014 so i dont know if this is true
Came here after the Reyes dispute that Mayweather had.. during his Maidana Fight.. his gloves looked like they had no padding in them, in the knuckle area,..i only used Everlast 16 oz, so i thought maybe i might be wrong.. But yeah they did look like they were Tainted after seeing this.. i mainly seen pacquiao and mexican fighters use Reyes, they're called Punchers gloves..and supposedly had horse hair in it.. idk..
Does Reyes offer any 20oz Gloves variations? 🤔
Thank you for your Swift reply. And it seem the Extra Padding Version only go upto 16oz.
What's your opinion on Twins special boxing gloves? I have got their 16oz gloves and planning to use it for bagwork...what do you think? I'm just starting to box
@@ThatBoxingGuy I'm only planning to use them for bag work...but I feel my wrists are too thin for the wrist strap. What to do about that? Also are hand wraps necessary when using the gloves?
For someone who just wants the gloves for training and a bit of sparring would you recommend the “training version” or the “official fight version”?
training cuz the Fight version are only good for abt 30 rounds not meant to last a long time
Do you recommend using the rival size chart for bag gloves o should I get one size larger glove for bag work... I am 175 lbs .
I just got a pair of these. My logo peeled off right the first time I used it. It is peeling like crazy, is it normal?
What size is large
Are these lace up versions true to weight?
@@ThatBoxingGuy thanks. I have 16 oz velcro and they're right under 19 oz but I also have the prosafetec 10 oz gloves and they're perfectly on weight.
Looking for a new pair of 12oz gloves for the heavy bag. If price is not an issue, do you see any benefit getting the cleto reyes over winning? I have never tried a cleto reyes glove and my 10oz winnings feel amazing. Thanks for any input!
That Boxing Guy Training glove. I dont believe the fight glove comes in 12oz.
That Boxing Guy I’m looking for a more protective glove than my 10oz winning while still keeping it light for the heavy bag. Winning is great but being a Pacquiao fan, a pair of classic red Reyes gloves look sweet.
That Boxing Guy Just the response I was looking for! Will go with the winning and keep those hands protected. Hope to see some Winning glove reviews! Keep the videos coming, really enjoy them!
That Boxing Guy Agreed! Will def look into those when my 10oz gloves need an upgrade. Thanks again!
16oz gloves feel like a ton after 3 rds of sparring...what more the 18oz
I just ordered some 18oz red boxing gloves from title.com and they arrived today but they are like perfectly the same of 16oz boxing gloves....sigh very bummed out about this...they were supposed to be my very first 18oz gloves but they are the same as 16oz....
I weigh 165 and am 5’5. My gym has 14oz gloves for sparring. What size gloves do you recommend I buy for sparring considering my height and weight?
That Boxing Guy the gloves they use are 14 oz ringside imf tech sparring gloves, I wanna buy some cleto Reyes but they’re expensive and I’m not trying to spend all that money just for me not be able to spar in them because I didn’t research anything.
@@crisc.1144 cletos are not good for sparring! The padding is too dense and you don't want to be a dick to your partner. Winnings are the perfect sparring glove but very expensive. Top King makes a very pillowy glove. Twins are pretty soft as well.
I just got my reyes today they feel so thick on the knuckle area like theres a big gap from the hand. Plus its hard to grip too thick. Do you feel the same? I have 12oz
I haven’t tried the 12 oz before, but I hear it’s a lot smaller (width wise) than the 16 and up. I have the 18 oz, so it really wide
@@ThatBoxingGuy i mean the knuckle area theres like a big gap so its hard to like wrap it its too thick i feel like 12oz should be better grip than 16/18
Quick question for a friend who wants to get into amateur fights, VENUM HAMMER Pro or this one( both in 16 0z ) for a power puncher(heavy weight guy in HW category , athletic build ) , for heavy bags , mitts and sparring ,both velcro version including thumb support, wrist support, durablity.Which boosts confidence to punch harder you know initially to get that feel for going harder in training as he is trying to climb the ladder in his league. which you recommend overall as you have more experience? For practise sessions obviously as harder the practice easier the fight ! Kindly reply brother!!
i feel like my knuckles on the 16oz are to high on the glove and not quite where they should be ..perhaps the 18 will fit better i dont really have small hands.im 6ft 195lbs ..any suggestions?
Pretty much I just want to fight my brother and I want to know if there soft which do you recommend
They use the Balls cow leather
are the 18oz heavier than the 16oz and which glove gives you better defence when guarding?
@@ThatBoxingGuy Thank you and you reply really fast amazing love your youtube channel man :)
Hate to sound like a dick I just want to make sure you know that ounces (oz) is a measurement of weight so 18oz will be heavier than 16oz. Maybe I don’t understand the question or you’re not from the states but just wanted to put it out there.
That Boxing Guy I heard that Cleto Reyes is actually 2 oz heavier than labeled. So the 18 oz is actually 20.
That Boxing Guy I have 20 oz Everlast MX and 16 Oz CR and The CR feels just as heavy so there’s a good chance it’s 3 or 4 oz heavier than labeled.
That Boxing Guy So if I buy the 18 oz CR will it actually be 21 or 22 oz?
This dude has some hands.
Lol i used sharpie on mines scraped off the logo more don’t recommend
Do you prefer the Fairtex bgv9 or Cleto Reyes training gloves for bag and mitt work, and which one has better hand protection?
That Boxing Guy Even though the Cleto Reyes are not as good as the Fairtex, do they still have good hand protection?
Do cleyto Reyes have the same feel to the Everlast Mx
I haven’t used the new version of the MX, but the old one had a softer foam. Did not feel like Reyes at all.
To keep the leather in good shape i use tire cleaner
That Boxing Guy nah i let it dry out over the weekend outside ... its safe trust me😂
Do you know how long would the Reyes gloves would last if let’s say I spar once or twice a week with them?
I use them everyday on the bag and nothing has happened to them so take his word for it these things will last forever
Those are most broken in and soft Reyes gloves I have ever seen lol, I hope mine get that soft and broken in
At the time a used it a lot, bag and sparring. Watching my video now I take back not using the gloves on the bag, they’re actually better because of it
I recently purchased a pair of cletos 16oz, lace up in black and I’m going to work them on the bag so they can break in real good and become soft and I’ll use them for sparring only after that, how long does it usually take to get them soft and broken in enough for sparring? Like a month maybe?
That’s why I bought sum Cleto Reyes 🗣🦍💉
Filipino ka ba pare?
Those gloves are expensive right ?
That Boxing Guy yea I want pro gloves that are 12 oz the pro ones but they cost like 170$ currently I have 120$ they’re all horse hair right ? What’s your take on it? Do they land harder ?
That Boxing Guy oh I get it. Doesn’t Manny and Canelo use these gloves ? The ones they use have no padding right ? Just horsehair or am I mistaken I have a fight with someone Dec 25 it’s not official just like a tradition every Christmas. Last year he fought dirty hit me in the face whe we were supposed to touch gloves and he used 10 oz gloves while I used 16 so i want payback. Also I do train so it’s not gonna be just swinging lol. What gives do you recommend ?
That Boxing Guy yea he’s a great coach I’m a very short fighter he said in 3 months I’ll be fight ready I just joined the gym but I’ve been training in different gyms for years now but this is by far the best coach I’ve had I’m learning a lot of new things.
@@zerotwosixty7416 😂😂😂 oh you trynna get payback, but yeah he did you dirty with the fake glove 🥊 tap then punch smh
Hi Bernard I am a small youtuber too. From Cebu if you have some extra old gloves hope you send pair to me . I would love to do box trainings too
Cleto. 16s. Best glove ever
I had these gloves and the stitching gave out around two weeks in. Got in contact with reyes and there're customer services was next to useless not impressed. Everlast mx far more durable and better made.
The Reyes punch paddles are rubbish nothing like their gloves
Reyes are the absolute worst gloves for sparring! Unless your goal is to hurt your sparring partner. And then eventually nobody at your gym will want to spar with you...
@@ThatBoxingGuy I saw you reviewed the Fairtex bgv9's. Which one do you think has harder padding?
It sounds strange but I like the look of used old boxing gloves. Or used heavybags with tape 😂 It has an oldschool feeling to it.
