I've got me a pair of these in 16oz black and love them! I've always trained with Cleto Reyes in the past but these extra padding are awesome. Great review!

@Matthew Thomas-erwin They are a little different than the traditional. I had to break them in for a good 112 rounds for me to really like them. The hand compartment can be corrected with some good "Winning" hand wraps.

Spot on! Had a pair since February - use them on the ringside jumbo (which I bought from you in fact) they are heavy which is great on the floor to ceiling ball, but on a heavy bag they are stupendous! Nothing like wearing them - very high quality feel and function!!!!

many people criticize this gloves as not beginner friendly, but they forget that they have been redesigned over the years, I got a pair, last month and they feel different from the old reyes (2015 model) that a friend owns.

@@SecondsOutFightStore is there much difference in the hand compartment size between 14 and 16oz? I want these for the heavy bag mainly and have a 9inch circumference hand and prefer not to wear wraps...can you advise?

Yup I got a pair of safetecs back in 2016 and the leather smelled a lot stronger than the ones I just got a few months ago and they also don't have the round usage tags on the inside idk whats up w that

I've tried throughout my boxing life so far:
    1. Venum Elites
    2. Venum Giant 3.0's
    3. Rival RB11s
    4. Hayabusa T3 Kanpeki's
    5. Everlast Pro Style's
    6. Title Infused El Comate's
    7. No Boxing No Life Champion line lace up gloves
    8. Cleto Reyes hook and loop gloves
    9. Cleto Reyes lace up training gloves
    10. Grant Worldwide lace up training gloves
Out of all those gloves, I always find my way back to using my Cleto Reyes lace up training gloves. There's just something about those gloves that are extremely satisfying to use. It took a while for it to break in but once they did, the glove was amazing. The snaps that the gloves make on the heavy bag are just beautiful to hear. To me, Cleto Reyes is the ultimate boxing glove and it should be the glove you should get if you want to stick to one pair of boxing gloves for life.

I love my Reyes lace ups. Hayabusa Kanpeki get a lot of hate, but I think those are great gloves too.

How are regular training gloves against these in sizing. Are they biger? I have extra padding but they are snug and too much protective for me.

So if you want 12 oz you should buy 10 oz? It seems to me it shouldn’t feel like weight training.

I’ve owned these gloves before, here’s my review, the hand compartment is too big so when you’re hitting the bag your hand is wiggling around(my winnings are perfect) so i hurt my hands several times on the bag and i got 14oz and yes they feel too heavy so they were probably 16oz, also the thumb is awkward so I’d jam it sometimes when hitting the bag and they only come in velcro which just doesn’t have as much support as lace ups, yes they were amazing quality and the smell, so addicting but what’s the point in having a long lasting glove if it doesn’t feel that good on the bag and doesn’t have much wrist support?

Rigo Acosta Sounds like you may of hand an older pair of Reyes, they’ve changed the hand compartment recently and it’s a lot snugger now, especially in the extra padded version. If I were you I’d stick to Winning which I’m sure you will. Everyone’s hands are different. We sell a lot of Reyes & Winning! 😄🥊

Best Brand for all purposes, love them, I do muay thai, and no one brand from thai gloves are good enough that cletos, use them for pads, mitts, heavy bag even for sparring never get disappointed with a pair of cletos, Of course cletos are heavier than other gloves, not for pu***ssys only for warriors.

These gloves, in fact all of Reyes products, are quality items. But all of the training gloves have the same issue - they're uncomfortable.
The leather is so stiff they take ages to break in, making them incredibly tiring to wear as they dont want to bend. The thumb is really uncomfortable too with the piping digging into your palm. It is also in a very winged position meaning you're really going to have to pinch your hand closed (the idea that it engages your forearm).
The padding takes ages to soften up to anywhere near soft enough for sparring, a byproduct of making them last. It's not like they cant produce quality soft foam - their headgear and safetec are fantastic.
The thumb end is flat in profile meaning if you shell up (with your thumbs near your forehead) you'll be left with indentations if you take shots onto the gloves.
Use the weight sizes as hand compartment size guidelines. Likewise, use your wraps and / or knuckle pads to adjust fitment.
These are a quality item but you'll either love them or hate them so I'd recommend finding a pair at your club and asking to try them for 5 rounds or so.

Daniel Goodridge Thanks for the comment, it sounds like you’ve maybe had an older pair of Reyes. They did have issues with the thumb but made big changes to the hand mould making it more snug fitting and the thumb has definitely been updated. I’ve been using mine for bag work and sparring and have a bad right hand but no problems at all with the hand compartment. They take some work to break in for sure but as you said that’s what makes them so durable. Tbh it’s like any gloves, I always say to customers everyone’s hands are different are every glove is different there’s no perfect glove for every person

As for break in, you can accelerate that. Put them in your office chair, palm down with the thumbs out, put a pillow over them, and sit on them. I did that with my 160z lace ups. I'm about 3 months in and they're starting to feel really good. I really love the feedback they provide, and I notice my technique has improved with them because of it. But still, they're probably not for everyone.
