When your kids move to Sydney what do you do? Read Australian authors just to get the feel of Australia. Mysteries of course. When my oldest daughter moved to Sydney I read all of Peter Corris books. Visited Australia in 87 and loved Tasmania. Went on to Gerry Disher and Geoffrey McGeachin now that my second daughter has apparently taken up permanent residence there. Recently have fallen in love with Dave Warner's mystery books. Amazed to see how diverse his talents are! Thanks to our recent election I'd like to move there too!

Dave Warner From The Suburbs, Loaded Dice and other great bands, live 6 nights a week in Perth. Those were the days. Dave is now a well established author as well.

Packed to the Rafters - I’m here to relive this song. It’s referred to in Season 1, Episode 9 on 7 Play! Supposedly the father, Dave Rafter, co-wrote the song but left the band before it hit the big time 😀
I remember these at Sydney university union one night. They headlined supported by a band called Paul Kelly and the Dots. I wonder what became of them?
Does anyone know how to find Stephen Hill? He's the bouncer at 2:22 - I am looking for my biological father. I have already messaged Dave on facebook but no reply. This is the only image I have of him, I only found it yesterday, I've been looking since the 90's and so far this clip is the best lead. He's 70 now, so the clock will be ticking. Thanks.
Dave's voice took some getting past, but it was delivered in our native tongue. Had he sung it gruff and more american it would have found a greater audience probably but it wouldn't have been the same. Good track.
I love this song, made all the better because of those beautiful Aussie inflections in Dave's voice...
classic!
It sounds South Africian
two people gave this the thumbs down? they must be from the city.
kay imba true very true :)
wankers
fuckwits
Too true
Or from the Sea.
My anthem as a 17 year old. Saw the band at the North Cottesloe Surf Club, probably 1980. still one of my favorite alltime bands.
I loved this song when I was a kid and still do!
DAVE WARNER true hall of famer in my books great song and he is a real true AUSSIE talent
You only think that because you, like many of us, know truly what he sings about, a lot of people don’t get it, hence why he isn’t in the hall of fame

They were good days. The music was free and plenty of drinks and girls!
oh yeah the women
And you could smoke at the club or RSL in those days, even on the dance floor.
Unless you're a boy from the suburbs...boom 'tish.
Classic Aussie Rock!!! Brilliant!
Only discovered a few months ago he can write and they are great books as well .
Used to go up to Perth every week to spit beer at Dave Warner, Bicton boy, hey great live band, raw West Australian talent, beauty mate🇦🇺🇦🇺
Not just any local, but from Bicton, great fun spitting beer on the crowd and vice versa, some fantastic local talent, ahead of his time
The Boy from Bicton.
Dave Warner perfectly encapsulates my f*cked up adolescence
They used this is the Aussie show 'Packed to the Rafters'

The old days! The Shents era for me.
Too bad it's not there anymore ( something about progress ) . Saw the 'Painters and Dockers' there ; great act ..... so long ago .
this song is a consolation for all the young guys who felt the alienation of no girlfriend in their youth
All time Australian Classic
See him at the Dianella Hotel all the time, great era for Perth & so many great bands. We had it good in those days
With the late,great,Jonny Leopard.
It is so good because its so true. How most teens saw their life.
great old song i forgot about
A Classic from a local legend! ....from an 'out-crowd' local.
Awesome memories Burma all old pubs now 4 oldiez
This was filmed at Rowleys Tavern in Applecross/ Mt Pleasant. You can see the "Raffles" red neon light in the background at the end.
RAFFLES RIVER ROOM not Rowleys,, thats up the road.
