Akram's Hard Night: From Fire to Theft, Akram on Guard

Akram, who lived with her grandson and pregnant daughter-in-law, was forced to spend the night in a corner of the yard near a telecommunications tower after her son's creditor came and set fire to their only shelter-a small camping tent. Her mother lit a fire for them to provide some warmth against the cold night.
While her family was asleep, Akram noticed a thief sneaking into the yard and approaching the chicken coop. The thief grabbed one of the chickens and tried to escape. Fearing the loss of one of her few remaining possessions, Akram immediately reacted and, with her mother’s help, managed to take the chicken back from the thief.
This incident heightened Akram's sense of insecurity, prompting her to move their sleeping area closer to the coop to ensure she could respond more quickly if another theft occurred.
