Akram's Story: A Mother Amidst the Struggles
Akram, a rural mother, is navigating some of the most challenging days of her life, striving to keep her family together. Once living in a simple but loving home, she lost her house due to her eldest son’s debts and now resides with her elderly mother and young grandson under a small tent in the middle of the desert.
With her eldest son in prison and her other son working hard in a distant village to provide for the family, Akram takes each step in search of a way to overcome their crisis. One day, a kind-hearted landlord brings her the ingredients to cook ash reshteh (a traditional Persian noodle soup) and asks her to prepare some for her family and share the rest with neighbors and those in need.
This simple story portrays a mother’s resilience and determination, showcasing how, even in the toughest of times, she does everything in her power to preserve her family and bring a little warmth to the cold days of their lives.
