Many other Apostles were called by local groups and sent on tasks like the four on the road to Emmaus who met Jesus. Brian is not one of those called and named by Jesus. Tithes help pay the pastor's salary, keep the church's lights on, and meet the needs of the community. Tithing is an act of faith that helps us keep our priorities straight" it says to support the needs of the pastor . and from what I know alot of money is used for the church actually like we never used to have carpet in the church now we do, we never used to have a proper roof now we do, we never used to have chandeliers now we have more than 10 in the church, where do we get everything inside and outside of the church from? It all comes from the money that that we tithe into the church.
@@nikahkapea8799 the New Testament never teaches tithing or giving 10% of your income to a church organisation. The tithe was a law given to the nation of Israel under the Old Covenant for the provision of supplies for the holy days and festivals, for the poor, the provision of food for the levites, amongst other things. In fact if you count all the tithes up it was actually overall closer to 23 or 24% from what I understand. There is a good book called ''Eating Sacred Cows'' by Graeme Carle which looks into the biblical tithe and what the New Testament truly teaches about giving if you're interested. Don't take your church leaders word for it, be like the Bereans (Acts 17;11).

I was fed lies about destiny church for years which deterred me from going there. My friend has been trying to make me go there for years but churches are so corrupted I don't know which religion is true.
I was spoken to yesterday by someone really close to me and destiny's church was brought up again. My friend Victoria had been trying for 4-5 years to get me to go, next week, I am going to suss it out.

@@nzcrest4968 most Christians I know from other churches pay tithes (10% of their income) to their church. Like most other churches ministers are paid a salary and have other fulltime staff. Tithes also pay for the building, facilities, bills and upkeep. Tithing is not compulsory and nobody has a gun to their head. At the end of the day it's their money, their choice, their business and on top of that all or most of their members don't drink, smoke, gamble or use drugs. There's far worse things they could be wasting their money on.

Brian Tamaki often posts videos on his Facebook page at his house on the outskirts of Papakura in South Auckland. Yes it's a nice house but it's no mansion in Remuera. If high profile sportsmen, TV presenters and CEO's can earn a good salary, why can't a leader of a large church? The members of his church aren't complaining. At the end of the day it's their money, their choice and their business and most of them don't drink alcohol, smoke, gamble or use drugs. There's far worse things they could be wasting their money on and most of them will tell you they have far more money in their pocket than before they became a Christian. There are countless success stories of lives being turned around for the better which the media won't report. Negative headlines get more clicks and reactions than good headlines.
