Connor, you dont need to rush to make a video bro, youve given us more than enough, you should enjoy this christmas, and no that hiatus isnt an excuse to torture both you and the quality of your work by rushing it. Merry Christmas Connor.

Hmmm, I've only very rarely seen someone else notice how Shenmue games can be split up in progression for Ryo's martial arts and character. Usually people say for example that Shenmue 3 makes no progression whatsoever but I just think these people are missing what all of Shenmue 3 is about. Which is seeking different martial arts masters and practicing day in day out. Even the ending shows Ryo is probably about as good a fighter as his father used to be at that point. Respect for the insight most people don't have.

It’s good to see someone who actually understands Shenmue make such a insightful comprehensive and funny essay! Thanks a million. 😁

Woohoo; what a refreshing video analysis on the entire Shenmue series. You really pointed out all of the things that made fans fall in love with the series back in the day. I hope that many others gamers come across this video and take their time to watch it and decide to give the series a shot.
I think that a lot gamers out there get the wrong idea about this series and potentialy lose what can be a great and unique gaming experience unlike any other; nevertheless thank you for taking your time creating this video and showing why it is worth giving this series a shot.

Shenmue is such a labor of love. It’s easy to get lost in time with the amount of details and real-life stuff you can do in this game. Glad to have experienced the game way back in 1999 and having the HD copy to relive the epic masterpiece once again.

Fantastic video! Very well done. I frikken love this game and throughout my life I never really had anyone to talk to about Shenmue. It's only since Shenmue 3 was announced that I got to realize than more than 3 people in the world knew this game exists lol growing up as a kid, I could talk about this game until I was blue in the face and nobody had a clue what I was on about. Then GTA 3 came out and everyone thought that it was the first open world game with any real substance but it literally had none. None of the charm, depth, soul and feeling that Shenmue brought to the table has been replicated in any open world game even up to now in my honest opinion. Anyway enough of my ramblings 😅 great work! Keep it up 👌🏽👍🏽

Great video! I got into shenmue last year and I really loved the first two. I feel like it gets unfavorably compared to yakuza by everyone for being too "boring", and this video perfectly explains why I love this series. Thank you for not spoiling 3, I'm planning on getting it soon and it definitely seems like I'll enjoy it.

Honestly, given the usual bashings this series gets, it's nice to see someone who accepts what the series is about, warts and all.
