- Victory is leaving us. But not without putting some legendary motorcycles into the history books. Let's take a look at one of the coolest bikes on the road today - The Victory Magnum.
the first 2:50 is by far the best bike reveal I've ever seen!..well done
Rebel Forged Thanks! As with all these videos, the first 3 minutes takes 98% of the editing time... Lol
I need to get out. beautiful ride on a beautiful bike. Sad Victory is gone, but, if this beauty is still available, it may cause me to take a trip to MA...
lol, well Doug, this bike sold the day I released this video. I would like to say that the video helped sell it, but sadly, it sold two hours before I released it.. lol
Great video. Really like the intro. My CCT definitely has great midrange and roll-on highway power. Low-end torque is somewhat lacking compared to the Harley touring bikes I've had. Victory's like a bit of throttle and to get in the 3000 rpm area before shifting. I've fixed my quiet exhaust and improved the stock audio. I find the ride comfort something I've not experienced before. The thing soaks up bumps, handles beautifully and is super roomy. I'm very pleased with the bike overall. It has its quirks but then again what bike doesn't. Despite Polaris making the decision to shut Victory down I suspect I'll have this bike for a very long time.
The review was a pleasure to watch. AWEsome work on the intro.
Thank you my friend!
I ride this route all the time its a nice ride.
Always a pleasure watching your video's, soon I will be on my rocket 3. "Be Safe!
I have a Magnum and is hands down the best bike I have ever rode! The air shock fill valve is behind the right side cover, If riding solo adjust air to at least 20-30 PSI and the ride is smooth. Also these motors like to rev
Yes, they snuck it behind the right side cover when I was used to it being being behind the left side cover on my Indians.. lol
hope all is going well. hope you and the mrs. are in good health. im not usually one for bikes with ferring; but what a gorgeous ride.
Thank you, Scott! All is well :) Yeah, this bike was beautiful.
Great review! Really makes me itch to ride. You're completely right about the feel of being "in" the victory bike as opposed to being "on" them like every Harley I've ever sat on. It's a very comfortable and confidence inspiring riding position and it's likely one of the features that sold me on their bikes when I test rode. Kind of unbelievable that Polaris ditched them. Hey that was a beautiful Magnum but why did they go through all the custom paint and then not colour match that big black plastic guard in front of the engine? That would drive me crazy!
25 years from now Harley won't even come close to that bike. It's too bad Victory is gone.
yeah that is why HD is in business and Victory ate shit
@@captainblackbeard3345 Just because Victory isn't around doesnt mean Harley is better, do you remember the Beta vs VHS? Beta was a far better platform but lost to VHS. Personally i would NEVER own a Harley but thats by choice.
I have a 2016 Victory Magnum
2014 Indian Chief Vintage
2010 Indian Chief Bomber
2007 Victory Jackpot (Ness Edition)
2005 Honda CBR 600 F4i
2003 Indian Chief
2002 Yamaha v-star 650 (wife)
2002 Yamaha v-star 1100
1948 Indian Chief
0 Harley Davidson, just before christmas i was looking at a 2016 H-D Street Glide Special, Indian Chieftain and then came across the Victory Magnum
Indian Chieftain was awesome but didn't like how forward the fairing felt. Looked at the Magnum and fell in love and bought it. The H-D was 3rd on the list and never moved up, does'nt make Harley bad, i just wont own one and more and more people are making the move to Indian from H/D and for good reason
I second your motion!! @@snakebite6511
glad to see your back posting your vlog. nice review but yes suggest a thesaurus for your naratives.lol. hope you and momma are doing well. wishing you the best.
Greg Demott lol, thanks Greg. I appreciate it! I will make a list of words to take with me next time...lol
Nice to see you back vlogging
Jeremy Meadors Thank you!
I know I am only hearing this on a video but it sounds to me like you are lugging the engine. Drop a gear and get the motor in its torque/powerband. You can do more damage to an engine trying to get it to work at too low of an rpm vs. getting up in the revs to its power. I had to learn this when going from Vtwins to a buddies 600cc sportbike. I was use to power at low rpms and redline at 5,000rpm which is lower than where that engines power actually "came on" 10-12K shifts just seemed wrong to me but if I tried to ride like a Harley it would lug and give that low rpm shutter. You get that same lug/shutter trying to keep a manual car in too high of a gear for the torque you need.
I think you're right. And I should have known better, owning a Victory Judge a few years ago!
the air suspension is adjustable . the valve is under the right side cover
I wish victory would have moved the fairing back about 2-3 inches and made the wires for the hand controls look better.
I know what you mean about the transmission issue. Can't quite explain it. Harleys have their distinct mechanical clunk, some bikes have that smooth transmission. The Victory line has this weird, plastic-y catch from gear to gear. I rode an Octane this past summer and it was the same way.
It's not a torque issue, ur riding the bike like an old man. Ride out the rpms a lil higher and it'll go
I own a steel frame with the 106 only exhaust and tune done and put 7k on it stock and I agree some and @ 10k I did cams, intake, pc5, timing wheel and it was a different bike altogether. +26hp and 10ft lbs TQ. put a few thousand on then and took out a stock cross country tourer and that's the first thing I would do again would be the Loydz performance goodies. I also test rode the Indians and they too need performance upgrades. still not as good As what I have with my jackpot.
Torque is different in a Overhead cam engine(Victory) compared to an overhead valve design (Indian). Like comparing apples to oranges.
Looks like your shifting to early on the magnum. It has plenty of torque.
Mister Fuqua I agree that I'm shifting early, but that's because it's not my bike and wasn't even close to being broken in. The bike sold today. I hope the new owner enjoys! I'm envious. As far as torque, it's fine. I'm just used to my 111, which is more torquey than this.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the Yamaha Stryker or Honda Stateline
Islandsoundzz I may be able to do one of those. I do have some of the filming of a Raider review done, so, sort of close... Lol. Thank you for watching and for your comment.
Close enough indeed
The problem with victorys were: a) the components are cheap. Cheap plastics everywhere. It is most noticeable on the saddlebags and the plastic creaks in the fairing. b) The electronics in the fairing were very outdated. c) To say they're "slow off the line" is an understatement (your assessment of that was spot on).
Joe Dangelo I agree about the plastics, though the electronics were only outdated in comparison to the very latest offerings from Indian and HD. They were reliable and stylish... Different from other bikes on the road.
What is not plastic it’s on all bikes including HD,Honda and Indian
I don't care for the gauges, looks like they stole them from the robot in Short Circuit.
And they complain about HD suspension lol looks like that victory rode horrible suspension wise. Sounds like you are truly a polaris guy to make excuses and talk this thing up. A spade is a spade and that is a shitty suspension on a shitty bike RIP Victory
Josh Calbert Meh. I like Polaris. You probably like Harley. I don't think they're bad bikes. Heck, there really aren't any bad bikes anymore. Remember on the suspension... While yes, it's slammed and doesn't have the travel of a standard Cross Country, the "big" problem with this ride was a fat guy that didn't know the air suspension valve was on the right. I only looked on the left. Had I adjusted it, I think it would have been perfect.
I do like and own Harley but i also have Kawaski,Honda and Suzuki sitting in my garage so i guess you can say i like bikes in general. I am not a one brand guy and like the Indians as well my next will probably be an Indian never know. You and I are of similar build and dont think you would of liked the ride even finding the air valve but each their own. Victory cruisers were/are nice machines but IMO their touring bikes suck. Ride safe brother
