Finally someone that explains it good and is an actual video showing it explaining the damn battery lol I’ve been searching on mine where to put the batteries in cuz I got one and know nothing about it lol
Sooo yeah. This is my favorite youtube channel from now on. Keep up the good work, Marco. I will buy my Polaroid 600 camera in the near future. I began to look after it after i played Life is Strange, but your channel gave me the last push. :)
@@AnalogThings And hi again. I just bought a Polaroid 660 Autofocus and I love it. I already took my first shot with it and it is awesome. I still have to learn how to exposure and all.
Analog Things but always like to see your videos Marco! Bit more busy with film rolls nowadays, can't wait to shoot interesting stuff with the trusty spectra this summer!
Thanks for great advice about converting I-type film cards to 600. I got plenty empty film cards and will try it because for me it is a difference in price in around 20 PLN (4.50 $) between I-type and 600 film cards - 69 PLN (15,43 $) for I-type and 89 PLN for 600 (19,90 $)
I received a Polaroid camera from some relatives and I could not understand why it wasn't working. It simply needed a new film pack! Thank you so much!
I own a Polaroid 2000 Instant Camera, and I LOVE IT. I am trying to find a film and a way to replace the battery, and found your channel. It helped me a lot !
THANK YOU!!! Took me 25 years to figure it out. I'm like I haven't replaced the battery in this camera for 25 years, yet it's still working strong and flashing strong and I'm like surely at some point it needs replacement so I was scratching my head viciously until I succumbed to fingerburn. Bottom line, thanks for pointing this out.
Ah thank you, I just found a Sun670 Autofocus QS packed away right in the back of an old shed, it’s missing the eye piece, but it’ll be neat to get it working.
I recently discovered the Polaroid 636 talking camera, which was left to me by my late father. My sister and I are looking for a place to store this camera's battery. Thanks for your video; one mystery has been solved.
@@AnalogThings I'm amazed how you were able to get the metal piece and battery out of the film pack with just your hands. I always need to use pliers to do so.
Is it just me or did anyone else actually know this, but still went looking for a battery and made yourself feel real stupid 😅😅😅 After watching your video I remembered my grandpa telling me about this when I was younger and just a few minutes ago my older brother pulled out one of my Polaroids and was asking if it worked, I had just figured it was too old or something this whole time. Don't think I'd ever thought to get new film, at least until now 😅🤦 thank you, sincerely 🙏
Polaroid had a radio that was powered buy a spent Polaroid film cartridge. And I think there was also a special cartridge for where you can just stick double a batteries in it as well. I don't own one but I saw a video on it.
Hey Marco! I have a quick question. I recently was at a Thrift Shop and found "The Button" by Polaroid. It was only $5 USD so I bought it. It works perfectly and I am very happy with it. My question is (and maybe you can make a video out of it) What are the things to look for when buying a used Polaroid Camera? I only checked the rollers. After watching this video, I should have check if there was corrosion on the battery connectors but was not aware prior to your video. Thank you for the help and I love your videos!
3:40 btw I’m doing this just instead of an 600 camera I do this for my Polaroid Image System and I’m on pack 8 or so I guess with the same batterie so yea they do really last long but I always check voltage so as to make sure it doesn’t get to low
Thank you so much for this video, it’s sooo helpful! Now I won’t have to spend so much on film, and I know how to dispose of it in a more eco-friendly way!! I have a question: Can you use a safelight when you swap the film from the i100 to the 600 like when you make photo paper prints, or do you have to do it in complete darkness like when you open the 35mm cartridges and develop the negatives?
Recently rediscovered my Polaroid 600 from the back of a closet. It still has a film pack in it but is not working. I forgot; does the film/battery just pull out by hand? Guess I should check for corrosion on the connectors.
Hi Marco, i'm from Italy. Interesting video, as all your video are 😁. But my question is about Polaroid Swinger model 20. Where is the battery in it? Could you tell me?
I recently got a one step talking camera, was confused about the battery and so worried I wouldn’t be able to use it because it needed an old battery from 1995 but didn’t know where film went. All I’d need is a 600 film from the store? It’d have a battery?
I just bough a Polaroid onestep closeup 600, and I was wondering if that black plastic thing with the metal parts comes with the camera or it’s something that needs to be bought besides the camera?
I have and old cartridge but the camera does not work, do you know if it can be charged or if it is a camera problem? Do you know where I can buy a new cartridge?
So what does "use" battery? When I open my flash there is a small green light shining on the back, so Im assuming the flash is "ready"? Can I keep my Polaroid camera open or will it drain my battery
Once i put in the film and the battery in the camera, how long does the battery last? it could be in the camera for a month and still working? Nice video!
Hi, I have a Polaroid 600 and now I tried to use it again after a few years and when I put the cartridge it doesn’t spill anything or make any noise. Any way of solving this problem?
Hey Marco I really appreciate all of these Polaroid videos. I have an old pack of expired SX-70 film, old enough where I think the battery might not work. Would I have any issues attempting to use the same technique to download my expired film into a Polaroid Originals cartridge? What are the odds the film is not salvageable?
Hi Marco! Thanks for the video! It was enlightening. I was wondering, could you put some link where it is possible to buy just the film of the Polaroid 600 without the battery pack?. Thank you so much
Hi, I have a problem with my polaroid 636 closeup, I bought a polaroid color 600 to take some pictures, I put it inside, but the camera didnt work. The camera make a noise (I think its because its loading) but at one point, the sound turned off and rang again. I know that this camera has a green light, and it shines when the camera is ready to take the picture, but in my case it didnt shine at all, and obviously I cant take a picture. Please helppppp
Hey, I had the my Grandpop‘s Polaroid 600 for some 7 years laying around, it looks just like the one in the video, does anyone know from which Year it is?
Hello Marco, I love the colors and feel of your videos. Would you share your setup? Seems you are using some kind of filter - it looks like a pro movie. Thanks!
Hey, thanks alot. I use a Sony A7R3 with slightly modified EosHD settings on it and do some color grading in resolve. As light i use a LED light from PetaPixel with daylight balance.
Nice little video, I was thinking about same saving money (and environment) trick. In the video you were touching image area really often, is this something to look out for, not to touch that area. Would it affect the image quality afterwards (fingerprints, grease, dust)?
well, yes everything on the image area would be visible since it's as close as possible to the film layer, but with clean hands everything should be fine
Good afternoon Marco, First, thank you for all your great ideas and tricks especially the one with the 3 parts film! Now I can recycle correctly! And the watering effect, I can't wait to try it!! I had a question concerning Spectra. Mine is extremely slow when it comes to eject the picture (when it comes out at all), it is frustrating and enraging since you're losing money... So I was wondering if in a near future you would be kind enough to give us a trick or explanation on how to have the picture coming out at a normal pace on the Spectra. Sorry for my long message 🙏🤩 Thanks, Sophie.
hey sophie, haven't had that problem with spectra so far but i'm also missing the how-to video for that camera and will try to pack that into the video.
there should be a link in the video description to polaroid originals. i would only recommend buying it directly from them or trusted photostores. i can't recommend amazon, since i had very bad stored films from them and thats just waste of your money so go to PO
I just acquired two old Polaroids and was wondering exactly where the damn batteries go. Thanks for the video!
Good shout with separation for recycling 👍

Oh my god same! Life is strange is such a good game and it kinda inspired me to get one.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You...
Never would have imagined that's where the battery was and I grew up with these!
Hey , great video. Another option is the Polaroid fm radio. Takes empty film cartridges to power it. Very eco 👍🏻
I've been wondering about this for a while, thanks for the video!
Now i know why the film is so expensive 😅
Special paper
Thank you so much Marco, you're a sweetheart!
It is so weird the noise it makes and the slowness of the ejection.
Apparently it's pretty common.
have to try with my spectra cameras i have, but can imagine that it does that
great video for beginners that have found a old brick that they can use now!
nothing new for you rob ;)

As dumb as I am for not figuring it out myself, I found this super helpful thank you I love you
SHOOK at how he just snapped that film pack effortlessly. It takes me so much out of me to do that, and I still haven't been able to so without tools.
dont get that, what tools?
