If you want a MEAN, "sounds like something is coming for you" sound from the guitars, CRAZY drumming, check out nostrum. If my all time favorite song by them. Drum playthrough version is a MUST. Thomas does the work of 2 drummers. Its BANANAS what he is capable of. Also, never stop rockin out you two🤘🤘
This album was my favourite of last year. And this was one of the stand out tracks. It’s astounding that a band that has been around as long as they have can be this consistent with every release. Love them 🤘
I remember the first time I heard these guys it was their None EP been hooked since, also discovered therion and cynic around the same time oh and sanctuary and later Nevermore was a great era of metal
More like the Break Those Bones ... I'd say Kaleidoscope is this Immutable's Do Not Look Down. Incidentally, I always felt that Immutable and Koloss are very similar albums.
Meshuggah are underrated af 🔥(edit) the type of Metal im into is more like Thrash/ Punk stuff and I rarely hear this band come up. I actually just got into them
Uh they're the most influential metal band of the last 20 years haha. The metalcore and Djent stuff metal has become today is mostly down to Meshuggah.
LOL WHAT no they're not. They're the influence of everyone who influenced anyone. I wish more people would listen to them, sure, but it's extreme metal. They've found a lot of success considering how hard their music is to get into for most people, especially non-musicians.
Well, now you have to do "God he sees in mirrors", my fav track on the new record along with this song. Pay real close attention to the rhythm of it and you'll see why it's (literally) one of a kind (no other meshuggah song has done the same as it has).
I’ll go ahead and start the spoiler…the riff cycle is like 15/16 or 17/16…something like that (help me 😬!!), so the feel of the groove doesn’t repeat once. Not just feel, but the placement of the notes on each and every bar is unique, not to mention strategically placed slides, bends, sustains, etc.
They’re so bouncy omg. More Meshuggah! 😄 Other than that, guys check out the new songs Scourge of the Offspring or We Eat Our Young by Cattle Decapitation!! Absolutely crushing tracks, no disappointment guaranteed.🤘🏼✌🏼
Been following you for a couple years since your Gojira reaction. I recommend you react to The Black Dahlia Murder - Stirring Seas of salted blood OR Revocation - diabolical majesty
I'm probably the only one on here that thinks this, but oh well. I just can't get deep into them no matter how hard I try. The droning djenty syncopation along with the monotone scream vocals just don't do it for me. I get that they are heavy and extremely talented and loved, but there's just no soul and groove in it for me. When I first heard this song a few months ago, I thought it was the epitome of all of those things for me. But that's just my personal opinion, and I wish them nothing but the best.
Meshuggah take some getting used to, like a negroni cocktail or dark chocolate. Revisit them from time to time and they might start to get under your skin a little more. While there's a common thread through their albums, they're all quite distinct from each other and listens can depend on mood. For example, sometimes I'm in a Catch 33 mood - other times, a Contradictions Collapse mood. As to the 'no soul' part, I see where you're coming from and I agree to a degree. Meshuggah feels like sentient machines from the future making music, but I think the groove is something that will again make itself apparent over time. How long that takes differs from person to person.
@Steven Cobain Good thoughts. However, I don't think it will ever happen for me, though I could be wrong. For my three favorite "modern" bands (Gojira, Opeth, Mastodon), I was hooked from the first minute of the first song I ever heard of theirs. My love and appreciation for them only grew intensely the more I listened and explored. I've tried this with Meshuggah for at least 5 years and it hasn't happened yet, so I think that window is closed. 😉
@justinburke848 Gee, possibly we have different tastes and opinions? But yeah, synchopated droning has no groove IMO. The drumming, while complex, is boring and repetitive to me. I much prefer Brann's and Mario's styles. You don't have to share that opinion, I won't question you.
It’s crazy how meshuggah released one of their best albums so late in their career.
Indeed, I love this album. I would probably rank the top 3 in order: ObZen, Nothing, Immutable. Violent Sleep Of Reason is hella underrated too
@@thewildhealer541 chaosphere is still number 1.
@@dbo0729 Yeah it's great. They should do a remix of that album
Please do Dancers To A Discordant System next!!
Yes! You will be bouncing out of your seats!

Tomas Haake-LEGEND
Favourite track off this album. The outro just grooves too hard
Hearing it live is worth it, you’ll get an awesome light show too
You gotta do Phantoms next!! Best outro on the whole album!!
Oh yeah most definitely! 🔥
I love that track! And you are right, best outro!
You guy's gotta do more Meshuggah. Rational Gaze, Born in Dissonance, Future breed machine, light the shortening fuse, faaaaak all so good.
Armies of the preposterous, TRUST ME ITS WORTH A LISTEN
Love the reaction to one of the greatest musical masterpieces of our time!! 🎤🥁🎸🎼
Rock on guys, Meshuggah kicks ass! Do "Strength beyond strength" by Pantera...
There is heavy then there is Meshuggah!!
One of their best tracks! Similar to " Break Them Bones" also by Mesuggah -Thanks for sharing!
Best track on the record for me. Love the bounce of that intro riff.
You should definitely check out behind the sun, or dancers to a discordant system!!!! It’ll be worth your time!!!!

I second your opinion on Nostrum. The drum playthrough is astounding.
Fantastic track.
This band is out of this world

These guys are machines! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Not Meshuggah related but look up a band called Batushka and the song Yektiniya IV: Milost. You might like it.
This is the DONT LOOK DOWN of this record.
More like the Break Those Bones ... I'd say Kaleidoscope is this Immutable's Do Not Look Down.

In what way?
@Mufasa man Meshuggah is the bases for the modern metal sound. You can't get more influential than that.
Well, now you have to do "God he sees in mirrors", my fav track on the new record along with this song. Pay real close attention to the rhythm of it and you'll see why it's (literally) one of a kind (no other meshuggah song has done the same as it has).

Tracks you *have* react to:
Nostrum
Dancers to a discordant system
Behind the sun
The hurt that finds you first
Born in dissonance
Live version of Future Breed Machine!!!!!!!
Stengah is definitely worth the watch, the „Alive“ version is recommendable
🖤 Please do Meshuggah - MonstroCity (The Violent Sleep Of Reason)

How are those little tiny pauses in the opening riff so satisfying? Music is weird.
I headbang much slower to this song
