Best heater ever..
That's so cool! Thanks for sharing your real experience! Looking forward to seeing more videos about hcalory~
Great to hear I have just purchased one for our motorhome looking forward to getting it set up
Hope you enjoy it!
All is good so far
3rd gen owner and heater owner as well I will be following for sure
Thanks man!! You on instagram ?
Mine is awesome so far
I would use a PC fan filter. Something meant for airflow and stopping particles without restricting flow.
the concern i had which lead me to building my own in a pelican type case is how well the controller would stand up to an overnight rain shower. as such, my build allowed me to put the controller inside the case making it more weather resistant.
I extended the leads on mine to about 6 ft long , it then allows me to position it outside my tent and store the controller inside. I need to make a updated video
@@JoesRigsandRepairs I did that as well on mine (uploaded a video for reference) but I did find that the wires going into the controller to be finicky and would lost power to the controller. ended up having to buy a new controller that I ended up mounting on the inside. Something you may want to keep an eye out for. The wires started messing up within a damn week.
👍
Even if you move the Bluetooth controller into the box it won't be weatherproof. There's vents all over that thing. Rain and water would easily get in. That's my biggest concern about this particular model.
Yeah I’m still pondering the idea , or I will extend the controller to like a 10ft cable, then I can bring it in the tent,
Which will enable it to shut off when it reaches a present temp and then kick back on when needed
@@JoesRigsandRepairsif you do extend it, I wud be interested in a bed f that, as I am considering doing that. My thought of the advantage of that is that I think the ambient temp guage is on that controller so if it’s in the temp you could set it using temp control rather than manually controlling the settings.
I am curious about how much power it draws.
After watching hundreds of videos on these types of heaters, I've pretty much come to the conclusion that they are basically all the same heater made by one manufacturer, (probably in the basement of a massage parlor in china somewhere) sold in different boxes (steel or plastic) and sold under a hundred different names with several different kinds of controllers and remotes. And the prices may vary of course. It's also been found that the 8KW doesn't exist, it's just another 5KW mislabled (several videos discuss this subject) The term , "plug and play" is also used losely as many have found if used right out of the box, can burn your house or vehicle down. So it is advised to do a complete inspection before using them no matter what you paid. Even the spendier ones have come poorly constructed from the factory. ("factory" is just a lose term used for the chinese basement where the children put them together) LOL. Just sayin'.
I have a cheap vevor,I get 30 hours on 1 gallon
Thanks for the info! I have a 576 wh battery. How much juice does the heater take to run?
The start up for the first few mins is about 100 plus watts , then after that it will settle around +-15 watts depending on temp and settings
You got a tent wood stove on the roof dude :-)
It’s actually a propane fire pit , made out of an ammo can.
What are you using to power the heater? I have a goal zero yeti 500 and is not strong enough
I’m using a goal zero 1000x your 500 will work, but you’ll knees a adapter off Amazon, a 110 to 12v 30 amp converter
About 55 bucks
It worked, thanks brother
Any issues with the diesel fuel leaking from the fitting on the bottom of the tank?
I’ve had no issues with it leaking and I’ve ran probably 10 gallons of diesel thru it so far, did you use the Oring?
@@JoesRigsandRepairs I have not set up the heater yet as I am waiting on a little better hose to run into my camper, I have heard people having small leaks.
I put my outlet on the side of the tank about an inch up in the hope any crap that may get in will rest on the bottom of the tank and not go through the system and clean out by sucking the crap out with a tube
It's to bad hcalory support is worthless. My heater showed up with a junk controller and they told me they would send parts then gave a run around sent over 50 emails and never got any parts. They stopped responding. You would be better off buying a pelican case and another brand diesel heater this company will not stand behind the junk they are selling and provide 0 support. I got a heater that from day 1 never worked corectly. Find another brand. It's sad they got the right idea if they actually provided support but you get nothing support is a joke.
agree and have had similar experience
Heater is great... the app is shit.
