The moisture around the vent is what the dryer pushed out of the clothes, not rain.

Someone ran the dryer vent up to the screened attic vent and is against building code. You need to get a roofer out there to install the proper vent termination.

Once a year? The screen will plug up with lint after one or two months.

The brush and rods are right hand threaded. You CANNOT reverse the drill or they will disconnect!

What you removed are low profile attic vents. They are not suitable for use as a dryer vent termination.

Seriously? First of all, a screen over a dryer vent is against building code. Secondly, the air is not venting properly underneath roof tiles. That will cause back pressure in the dryer vent system that could possibly force lint into the dryer cabinet. NOT GOOD!! That is the craziest damn thing I have ever seen regarding a dryer vent.

That black thing you put on the combustion air intake hose is actually a muffler, not an air filter. It is quite restrictive (you can find this out if you run your heater without it, then put it on and see the difference. You can hear the air whistle to get thru it. It needs more holes (about 3/8") drilled in it to be more free flowing so the fan won't labor to pull air in for one thing. And lining the inside with some kind of filtering cloth (I used charcoal cloth from a room air filter) will make a good air filter for the burn chamber. And replace the fuel line. It's garbage and is actually kinda dangerous!

After watching hundreds of videos on these types of heaters, I've pretty much come to the conclusion that they are basically all the same heater made by one manufacturer, (probably in the basement of a massage parlor in china somewhere) sold in different boxes (steel or plastic) and sold under a hundred different names with several different kinds of controllers and remotes. And the prices may vary of course. It's also been found that the 8KW doesn't exist, it's just another 5KW mislabled (several videos discuss this subject) The term , "plug and play" is also used losely as many have found if used right out of the box, can burn your house or vehicle down. So it is advised to do a complete inspection before using them no matter what you paid. Even the spendier ones have come poorly constructed from the factory. ("factory" is just a lose term used for the chinese basement where the children put them together) LOL. Just sayin'.

What kind of vent is that? Why would anyone cover it with rooftiles?

I would use a PC fan filter. Something meant for airflow and stopping particles without restricting flow.

the concern i had which lead me to building my own in a pelican type case is how well the controller would stand up to an overnight rain shower. as such, my build allowed me to put the controller inside the case making it more weather resistant.

how much current does it draw from a 12 volt car battery?

I am curious about how much power it draws.

1 ) the fuel hose is not worth a fck 2) use small p-clips for fule hose or small tabs with zip ties.. 3) find a better video this guy has no clue the exaust goes on the inside 4) I can't take no more of this please please please don't update us
