    It would be helpful if the team that specked the frame, axles and suspension can have a meeting with the interior
    design team that put all that storage capacity in there.....they need another 1K capacity at least on the frame & suspension rating . Not to mention the " Full time warranty " rating.... most people will be over GVWR on this trailer before they leave
    the driveway with empty tanks.

    I believe the magnet in the coat/closet was to hold the shelf up if you wanted to use it for coats or something taller. Go back and look at the shelf right next to the door. It had the other part of the magnet. I thought you might catch it as you were getting ready to shut the cabinet door but no, you didn't. :) Very nice unit!

    I currently own a jayco and I love it, but my concern with this unit is the relatively low cargo carrying capacity. Under a thousand pounds is pretty much ridiculous. Merry Christmas, have a happy New Year and thanks for all you do

    When you show a unit with slides you need to show it with the slides in so we can see what kind of access they have.

    • @dragonbutt
      @dragonbutt Рік тому

      Not possible given hes either at a show or on a lot, and its pretty easy to tell what kind of access there is even with them open unless you are completely blind.
      For example, on this trailer both of those slides close up against the island completely, so you can get in the bedroom and bathroom but not into the main living area.

    In general I’m not a Jayco fan. I attribute that to an old video tour of their plant that I saw a few years back. I must say seeing this new trailer and the direction they’re taking is making me rethink the brand.

    Just purchased a 24 Alpine with the BAL slides, and I too am not a cable slide lover, but I was convinced to go ahead and try these . We have only ran them a couple times , and have no real opinion, other than cable slides are loud, our last fifth wheel had all hydraulic slides and they worked just fine.

    • @dragonbutt
      @dragonbutt Рік тому

      Cable slides are lightweight and pretty reliable, but hydraulic or rack 'n pinion are always preferred. Unfortunately the design weight on this eagle was poorly managed so no fancy slides for you!

  • @951WoodworkDesigns-bx4kn

    It’s a nice trailer. The only issue I have is when the manufacturers deck out some travel trailers with several upgrades, which is great, but it puts the price range on many of these trailers close to, if not at the cost of a lesser expensive 5th wheel. If you absolutely want a trailer that’s well equipped, great, spend the money, but for me, I’d rather pay maybe another $15-20k and buy a 5th wheel. They’re easier to tow, I believe they’re safer to tow, they tend to come with many bells and whistles that are standard and, they tend to have more room as far as length, width (if you buy a 101”) and headroom, particularly within the slides, as well as generally more interior and exterior storage. Of course, it all depends on which trailer vs 5th wheel you compare, but generally speaking, that’s how I feel. True trailers allow you to utilize your full truck bed, and even put a shell on your bed if that something you want, but the interior space, but the trade off with a 5th wheel is worth it to me. These opinions are mine alone and do not represent the opinions of this channel. Ha, always wanted to say that!

    • @dragonbutt
      @dragonbutt Рік тому +2

      Its anecdotal but every experience i've had with a customer who opted for a well optioned travel trailer vs a fifth wheel was either due to their towing situation (usually unwilling to upgrade to a heavier tow vehicle or unwilling to learn), or space constraints like the size of their covered storage. Sometimes its as simple as a travel trailer being much nicer than a fifth wheel of the same price, or not being able to get a similar floorplan in something of similar size or cost.
      A perfect example of this is the Heartland Mallard M335. Its 40 foot long (and IIRC the most expensive of the mallard range), but its well equipped for its price, its low enough to fit under any covered storage, and its GVWR is under 9000lbs, and its floorplan is something that can only really be had in a fairly large fifth wheel. The cheapest fifth wheel that comes to mind is one of the heritage glens which are pretty spartan and can be anywhere from 10-20k more expensive, nevermind the cost of the hitch for it and all the other little expenses that come with a fifth wheel. If you want a fifth wheel thats as nice or nicer, you're looking at spending even more.
      Its a niche market with the expensive, well decked out travel trailers but people do buy them, usually with a just as niche reason.

    Hi, nice review of this new unit. We own a 2020 Eagle and love it. Very well built units. I love the white exterior but not the decals. For a quality built RV, they shouldn’t have cable system on the one slide. With cables I wouldn’t purchase this RV. I love the white interior, that we also have in our RV but, not the brown colour on the panels. Our 2020 farm house look panels are much nicer but this wouldn’t stop me from purchasing this RV. Lastly, the appliances aren’t Furion that is disappointing. We have these in our current. RV and love them, no issues. Not sure about the 5th wheel front legs. It’s cool looking and maybe works well but we will have to see the operation.

    The space up front behind the LP tanks is for a generator (inverter). It's about time that this change has been incorporated into the unit instead of trying to put the generator in the back of the truck or on a rack on the back.

    #1 still no back bumper
    #2 thermofoil countertop, the cheapest of the cheap laminates

    @1:25... How do you get the trailer off and on the truck without a jack? @1:45... Is that a front storage or a generator prep area? The large gauge red wire @0:17 leads me to believe that tray is for a generator in the middle and maybe a battery on each side.
    I'd like to see this built on a heavier frame. I think a GD Imagine or Reflection RL would be a better buy than this. They're heavier, but have a heavier frame and a much higher cargo capacity. They also have full sized refrigerators.

    Pros: I love those nightstands on either side of the bed where you can keep and charge all your stuff; stability up front looks great with the front legs, but didn't see the auto leveling control?; nice shower.
    Cons: I big miss on so many travel trailers is the lack of windows on the camp side, while giving you a lot of windows to look at your neighbor's campsite, why?; weak attempt at an outside kitchen.
    I guess I am old school but I still don't understand the need for so many cameras on modern RVs & trucks. Keep your eyes on the road ahead and not looking at so many camera views. Somebody asked for them, I suppose.
    Thanks, JD.

    The cargo weight seems like it is really under what is typically used. Didn’t see batteries. By the time you add water and batteries, generator, maybe some food. You are out of cargo weight capacity. Which means, people will buy this and automatically be overweight by roughly 1,000 lbs. We all bring cases of bottled water, some tools, extra clothes. 2 tooth brushes. Pots and pans. Silverware. Cutting board. If you camp then you will add even more things. I feel like nearly every trailer has limits, but this trailer, which is awesome in every other aspect fails for the cargo weight.

    Unusual trailer. I am NOT a fan of the big window on the front of the trailer. It is susceptible to road debris damage, and the window allows too much heat to enter the cabin. The front window shade hangs straight down, which looks like it would allow light to shine in after dark. BTW, where did they hide the auto-level controls? Lou from Georgia.

    JD -- I watched this video a second time -- after watching your contrast review between the Alliance Delta and the Jayco Eagle. While the Jayco has some gee whiz, new technology features, these features are not worth an extra $20,000 (MSRP) in my opinion. The Jayco has floor vents (bad), toe breaker kitchen slideout (really bad), big window in the front cap (terrible), 5th wheel style landing gear (very good), upgraded suspension (very good), and the upgraded tow package with ABS, anti-sway technology, and odometer (awesome). Really nice, but not worth an extra $20K. Question: There is no power tongue jack on the Jayco. I did not see where the auto-level control box was located, so it looks to me like it would be really clumsy when it came time to connect the trailer tongue to the tow hitch (especially if the controls are not line of sight). I would certainly pay another few hundred dollars to have the power tongue jack installed. Bottom Line: No question -- I'd buy the Alliance Delta! Lou from Georgia.

    What is Mind Blowing ?
    Low cargo capacity ?
    What length is it ?

    $86k and no self-leveling? Seems like an odd omission. Maybe when you have only 900lbs of payload, you can't afford to add heavy components.

    This is really nice but $86,000? There are really nice 5 th wheels for cheaper than that!

      MSRP. Comparably speaking, it has many nicer amenities than fifth wheels that have MSRPs higher. I imagine the sales price is closer to around 50K

    Aren't landing gear systems on 5th wheel trailers notoriously unreliable? Why would these be any different? You're screwed if those fail on that trailer. You can't even unhook.

    Too bad there is no outside cooktop and sink. Also looks like limited drawers in the kitchen. Not sure I would risk buying the new slide technology, I would want to see the historical performance on this. The big opening behind the propane tanks is subject to elements and theft so it is unusable for many items.

    As soon as you walked in I was turned off. WHY did they put the windows on the wrong side of the trailer?. Who likes looking at their neighbors?

    I wish manufacturers would put more windows on the camp side not the neighbors side, I am not a fan of looking onto there campsite

    Don't like all the windows looking at the neighboring canper. Put them on your campsite view.. I like Jayco.

    Do not buy a Thor product. We ordered a 2021 Jayco Eagle 272rbk, put down a deposit and was told it would be 2 months for delivery. They kept pushing out the build date month after month. 8 months later they notified our dealer the price was going to be $2500 higher than agreed. Dealer agreed to eat half if we still wanted it. Yes we still wanted it…, another month later and Thor/Jayco said never mind we are not going to build that model anymore ! They strung us along for 9 months then just kick us and 29 other customers that had deposited orders for that floor plan Eagle to the curb! We lost a whole camping season and they didn’t even notify our dealer of this corporate decision. When I called my sales guy he laughed and said that isn’t true my rep would have called me…. Nope he called the rep and found out the Facebook rumor was correct. Not building the 30 retail sold units. Do Not ever buy a Thor corporation unit. Corporate greed runs the show not customer service!

    I sure wouldn’t want that slide system, on some units just getting to adjustments is a nightmare. Bad enough with schwinntek slides. Just saying from real experience.

    Seems stupid to only have 9xx lbs cargo capacity. The GVWR is already over 10k, why not increase it to 11 or 12. This thing is also very expensive.
