It amazes me how much money casinos make. Like they basically let me clean the carpets as much as I want and never blink an eye at the cost.

I met up with some co-workers who were also off that day. They were doing bar games for the charity, and my buddy outbid everyone else to have her give him a lapdance during which she rubbed a jelly donut in his hair!

He's funny, but any dealer who would do openly antagonized a customer would likely be fired for doing so. Dealers are supposed to make you feel good despite you losing money.

The fact that he's rooting for the house is super weird, because they most likely pay him minimum wage, and being a complete dick to the players certainly won't do you any good if they end up winning

Another year we ended up going to the Grand Canyon, and camped out in Death Valley on the way. Another trip we camped out in the Anza Borrego desert, and they had outdoor movies at night in the camp.
I remember I once lost $20 at the slots and realized gambling wasn’t for me. Never played anything else after that. A buddy of mine called me a wuss for not “playing with the big dogs” He’s now severely in debt, divorced, severely depressed and in denial because of his gambling and bad financial habits.

Because, if you had went and won on the slots, you will end up going back and losing all your winnings and more. Any win at a casino is just a temporary loan. Clark Griswold Vs the Blackjack Dealer. Always a Cautionary Tale. It may not have played out exactly like this, but I almost was stranded in Atlantic City due to Gambling. But I Had the voice in my head telling me, "I need the money for that Bus trip home" (when I was stationed at Ft. Dix New Jersey at the time).
I understand and sympathize. The rush of winning (and admittedly greed) is powerful and can sneak up on anyone. As a kid I lost all my money once at a showground playing those coin machines that if you put in the right amount would topple down all these other dollar coins that were sitting on an edge. Well I was doing great and probably won like $30~40 and lost it all fast trying to get more. I had no money to eat and a bus ticket. I've been to casinos as an adult, but I will never forget that lesson and have rarely gambled ever since, because it could be far worse.
The soundtrack....love it. Also, I've never seen a casino where everyone is dressed so well....all the people in the background, dressed so nice. most if not all, come dressed as Cousin Eddie

Venetian is the worst, bet it was one of those robot dealers there who was emotionless the whole time, not saying a word as they pulled miracle after miracle like it was no big deal
This movie actually foretold the future. I laughed at how ridiculously bad his luck was and that he couldn't win a single hand and the dealer being such a jerk about it. But now it's really like that, they sucked all the fun out of the experience and are just all around cold about it, real tragic too. I used to go to casinos quite often when my luck was fairly average (win some, lose some, just back and forth) but in the last few years I started going less and less because it would just be three hours of mostly losing hands and no room to enjoy myself, and with their really chintzy rewards programs and no more free drinks there's not even that consolation anymore. If people have no sense of hope they can win or that they will get to have a good time win or lose, they won't come to play. Now these days it's all old people who still go by the busload and there are fewer every year and no one is replacing them because the younger crowd gets turned off after one bad visit.
It's too bad they can't think of a better, more fun form of entertainment down there. I remember going there back in the 60's, when Elvis did Viva Las Vegas, and it was a rip-roaring town. Things have changed. And it's difficult to find a fun venue for both the family crowd, and the single crowd.

I was working at the Mirage in the Bistro Gourmet Restaurant when this was being filmed. Pretty cool to see the Mirage after so many years when it was the best thing on the strip. Now it is equal to the mint downtown. SAD!! Worked there from open in 89 till 2002.Great times.

I played early in the AM during the week, empty in most LV casinos, well not not but used to in the 80's-90's. Also played high limit, not too many would play in the semi-private high rollers areas.

I've watched people split 3's, hit on 18, etc. It also allows you to see if they're picking up a lot of smaller cards which would raise the chance of a 10 or face card comes your way. It's best to watch a table for a few minutes and watch how other players are playing. You never walk up and just sit down if there's only a single seat open.
Well if I feel that its not gonna go my way I just leave but I usually gamble once a week and on average I get 300 to about 500 with the occasional 1,000 or so.
