Good work getting out of the snow! There is nothing worse than the combination of wet snow and soft mud for getting stuck. You guys did all the right things eg. staying calm, making use of the high lift jack, stones under the wheels, Maxtrax, etc. Too bad the winch decided not to work! Argh! Well done to get Albo out and undamaged. Nice to see Tom again and looking in fine fettle. RIP Sammy the Snowman!!! ☃

No doubt you are now receiving extraordinary quantities of self-recovery suggestions of widely varying quality! I’ll add my free advice, and, as the cliché goes, it’s worth its price. 1) Your video proves, one again, that while traction boards aren’t utterly useless, they do come close. 2) there’s an excellent Hi Lift attachment that grabs your wheel spokes - perfect in the situation you filmed. Hi Lift raises the tire directly, slip traction board beneath raised tire. I’ve had a LOT of success with that technique. I suppose it’s too obvious that we should periodically test our winches. But, honestly, I never remember to test mine!!!
thanks for the tips!!! we ll keep that in mind. on the winch testing we really felt let down because we actually use it fairly regularly to help others. and the one time we need it for us it does not work. but it s true it should always be tested. I guess because we drive everyday we not always know when we re going for hard tracks. but we will be more careful in the future.
Oh wow! The revenge of Sammy Snowman. Next time, drive round him. Fantastic filming, edge of seat stuff when Albo started to tip. You won't make him go to Antarctica will you?
hahahahah that is for sure the explanation of all of this. no it is almost impossible to bring a car. we re going on our own :) he will stay at the spa in Argentina in the meantime
Awesome story and keep the hi-lift, it helps with any recovery just make sure to be aware how to use it to prevent injuries. Those were some crazy cars that you met and glad to see Tom back on the videos.
yes we are not so used to work with the highlift so we are always a bit scared when manipulating it. we would need more practice. we are thrilled to have tom back !!!
I used to play in the mud and snow every weekend and learned that getting stuck sucks! But ether with a bunch of guys or by myself after you get out you almost always feel glad you took the chance. Nice to see Tom and Jerry is still doing good. Awesome video and glad you made it unscathed! Stay safe.
OMG...It's like watching a old Movie Serial where the hero is hanging by a branch off the side of the cliff, will they make it?? Will they have to abandon Albo?? Rescue services?? And with no gloves and tennis shoes??? What a couple of tough soles you two are..Well done and as hard as that was..It made a GREAT adventure video..on the edge of my seat the whole time...(At the end it would have been fun to say..." Nobody or nothing was harmed in the making of this video...") Well worth the couple of bucks to help fund your adventure on Patreon..Cost less than a couple of burgers at Macs..
I love how positive you guys are, even in situations that are starting to get desperate. Well done for staying calm and getting yourselves out. The winch not working was a bit of a bummer. Maybe need to check its working more regularly. Best wishes, love the channel.
Excellent job extricating Albo from the snow/mud. I am glad those guys showed up and told you how bad the roads ahead were. Also glad to see Tom again!!!
Bit too adventurous, but that's also where the best adventures come from. As Jimny driver its great to see them off roading round the world, and glad you got a guide out. Winch wise, if not used they can have numerous issues, worth every month pulling it fully out, then drag the spare wheel back to the car, or winch the car to a tree - heat cycle through the winch keeps them dry and freed up. Lots of water crossings and freezing temps wont help a winch either, especially if there is any moisture build up inside.
Awesome video as always Nick and Matilda. These was a epic and insane adventure. That snow cover trail was epic glad y'all made it out safe and sound. Nick have you fixed the winch?

Very beautiful snowy track. Your strength and spirit when the going got tough is commendable. Enjoyed when Mathilde said ei yi yi yi . Just like my family from Wisconsin, USA 😊
Nice to see Lanin, and San Martin where I crossed by bus, twice on journeys more than a decade ago. Once, after a midsummer snowstorm (February in that latitude like August in the North). It only gets more beautiful amidst the lakes as you travel on toward Bariloche, and then most beautiful heading toward El Bolson. Look for Lemuria when you reach Epuyén!

Thank God you got out safe after getting stuck in the snow,, i admire your positive attitude in handling such adversity…. What an adventure,,, and by the way, nice to see tom and jerry again,, enjoy , be safe and looking on your next episodes❤️
I was exhausted watching you struggle. I would have felt so desperate being stuck in such a remote place. You did really well getting out on your own. That other car was so deep in the hole and sideways. I suppose they got out but I'm glad that wasnt you! So great to see Tom again. Im curious what he did when he had to ship Jerry when he couldn't drive with the steering wheel on the right side. I cant remember what country doesnt allow it. Im excited to see what you get up to with Tom next week! I forgot to say well done on the drone that was cool when you hovered during the river crossing. Love seeing the landscape from above too. So pretty.
Yes the drone really gives a nice perspective 😍 thanks Kristen. So I believe it is honduras and costa rica that did not allow Tom so he shipped from Mexico to Colombia. He s been having an amazing journey in South America 🥰
Mathilda is doing a lot of the hard stuff... Picking up rocks, shoveling snow, walking around... soon she’s gonna wear your pants, Nick 😉😏 it’s time to 💪🏼

I am glad you ran into them...I kept telling you during your stuck moment...its time to turn around. So awesome to see ALBO flexing along those awesome snowy tracks . But I think running over the snow man that he got the last laugh and revenge on you😆😎 . And what a great adventure you did there . that’s what makes a great over landing rig so worth having so you can have spectacular adventures in it . Generally, in snow, you want to INCREASE the tire pressure in order to open up the treads. In fact, it is actually better to go for a narrower tire in snow so that the tire cuts through. A wide tire tends to hydroplane. In high latitudes, where it is very cold and dry, it is often best to go with a tire made from a soft rubber compound that will "stick" to ice. That is why you will often see people driving around Alaska, the Yukon and the NWT during the cold of winter, on soft high performance radial tires.

A little trick you could try next time is ratchet straps around the tire thru the wheel and twist the strap part on the tire . Makes a single tire like chain that acts like a single paddle. So nice to see Tom and Jerry! Cheers.
Wow you guys are sure risk takers, but that is the adventure. Don't think I would have drove those snowy roads🏔. God seems to take care of the bold. He sent those guys in the jeeps 🚙🚙to tell you not to keep going and they helped you drive back safely. I love monkey puzzle trees,🌳🌳 I planted one years ago in my yard now it is 30 feet tall. I knew they came from South America. Thanks for sharing stay safe and happy adventuring. Nice to see Tom and Jerry again. Cheers 🍕🍕🍕🍕🤠
Ugh. Snow sucks. You made the right choice by going the lowland route. Happy to see Tom again. Stay with him until the end. Maybe he can go to Antarctica with you. Beautiful mountains and clear skies. Love the drone shots. Albo is a tough machine. Yeah, get the winch fixed and maybe upgrade it to one which will equals the vehicle and contents. Also, can't have too much cable. You may even want to carry and extra. You put one between two trees on opposite sides of the road, then hook your vehicle cable to the middle that. (Like a T). Otherwise it may be too far for your vehicle cable to reach. Onward to more adventures.
hahahaha surely we will. we thought: how unlucky we used the winch so many times to help others, never for ourselves. and the one day we need it... it gives up on us
I love snow but not getting stuck in it!! You guys should be so proud of yourselves you work so well together. Enjoyed the beauty of the day. Thanks for sharing
I kept thinking you need to turn around. Worry was written all over your faces which was understandable given the precarious situation you were in. Happy it all turned out and sometimes the best decision is simply recognize that to push forward is too risky. You were lucky to encounter the other vehicles who advised you that going forward would be a mistake. You gave it your all. One more adventure to add to all the other memorable ones you've had in the past.
What a fantastic episode , great to see how you got out of it , I bet you were pleased you’d kept that high lift , I think you’ve got the winch fixed now but they do sit there and we never try them until we need them I’ve learned a lesson there cheers and here’s to the next one 🎉👍🏻🍺🍺
Absolutely! hahahah we felt a bit let down cause we ve used our winch quite a few times but always for others. and that one day we would have loved it worked it did not
First of all great driving for someone who doesn't offroad that much! And good recovery work. If you're going into the snow again I'd highly recommend a set of v-bar tire chains - the big truck ones - there's nothing like them, it feels like you're driving a caterpillar. I don't go anywhere without mine (partly cause I don't have a winch mounted 😅) Cheers!
yes make sense! I think we were not expecting that much snow and somehow advanced thinking, "oh it ll be alright" and it was just getting deeper and deeper
Well you don’t need that 12v dust blower/vacuum cleaner in the snow, but three things would be useful. Firstly, a LONG HANDLED shovel; secondly, tell-tales on your max trax for when they get buried and you can’t find them and finally a service on your winch. You have taken Albo into its favourite areas on this trip. 👍🏻🙏🦘
Nice to see Nick & Mathlide 🛞🎥 as always as ever 😁

Narrow tires are for compact snow and ice. In this type of snow, airing down helps the most.

That's the plan! it is all in tomorrow s episode :) we were so happy to see tom again
You got stuck in the snow because you knocked out that snowman, bad karma!
for sure...
@@NextMeridianExpedition BTW, keep Tom by your side all the time. Cool guy 😎
Ahhhhh!!!! Epic video ❤️
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Saludos les frenchies. Ces maisons “triangulaires” sont appellés “A-frames”. Simples a construire et sturdy. Bon, let’s enjoy the video 🙂 🍿 🎥
hahahah love that mid-watching comment. our on avail oublie! elles song vraiment chouettes
@@NextMeridianExpedition right? Got to keep them honest!

Nice to see Tom & Jerry again!
The best! We were so happy too
A little trick you could try next time is ratchet straps around the tire thru the wheel and twist the strap part on the tire . Makes a single tire like chain that acts like a single paddle. So nice to see Tom and Jerry! Cheers.
Great episode guys .
thank you Kevan!
Thanks! Got my gear....it fits
Thank you very much Steve! It is a great support For oír journey.
Great! Did uou get anythjng in the shop?
@@NextMeridianExpedition a new cap...arrived in 4 days
Wow you guys are sure risk takers, but that is the adventure. Don't think I would have drove those snowy roads🏔. God seems to take care of the bold. He sent those guys in the jeeps 🚙🚙to tell you not to keep going and they helped you drive back safely. I love monkey puzzle trees,🌳🌳 I planted one years ago in my yard now it is 30 feet tall. I knew they came from South America. Thanks for sharing stay safe and happy adventuring. Nice to see Tom and Jerry again. Cheers 🍕🍕🍕🍕🤠
oooh lucky those trees are gorgeous, did not know you could grow them elsewhere. they are soooo soo special! thanks for your support!
Quite the adventure!!!
Yes that was intense
Ugh.
Haaaa interesting! We have extra straps. We managed to fix the winch ourselves eventually but still order parts in case we have a problem one day.
You guys made it
I know nothing about winchs....I bet in your future you will...stay safe
hahahaha surely we will. we thought: how unlucky we used the winch so many times to help others, never for ourselves. and the one day we need it... it gives up on us
You both are so brave!! I’m glad you listened to the nice adventurers and turned around 🙏🏻😍
Good to see TOM!!
yes tom!!!!!
I love snow but not getting stuck in it!! You guys should be so proud of yourselves you work so well together. Enjoyed the beauty of the day. Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much! yes it was a fun team work exercise! although a bit too cold
One more adventure to add to all the other memorable ones you've had in the past.
yes it was a very good learning experience :)
love tom & jerry!
love them too !!!
A Jeep Wrangler Rubicon would’ve done the job better overall imo
I guess you need to consider this car is geared up for full time living in it, and weights 3 tons.
Absolutely! hahahah we felt a bit let down cause we ve used our winch quite a few times but always for others. and that one day we would have loved it worked it did not
You two are sooo brave. The part with the carrot made me laugh so hard. Also it was really good to see Tom again. Thank You for the great
videos
Our pleasure Bridget! hahahah yes poor Sammy. we re soooo happy to see tom again!
Are you consider to have Pull Pal to recovery from the snow, mud, and sand ?
Hey, what’s pull pall?
Good luck 👍
Thanks 👍
Well done nick and Mathilde, awesome adventure, good luck?
thank you!!!
🎉🎉🎉
yay!!!
🙏👍❤️👌👏
😍😍😍
Do u guys plan on visiting Eva Zu Beck sometime in Poland in the future?😊
we would love to! but we have not planned to pass by poland for a long time so we ll see when that s possible
hahahhaha service done! taking note on the other two items ;)
