- Leaving the altiplano, a review of our solar system, meeting @Thebluelandy , trying the best Argentinians wines and food and the highest mountain in South America.
Last we completed the probably what will be our last drive on the Altiplano. We are continuing our way south away from the magnificent but harsh environments of the northern part of Argentina. This week we need a bit of time off and we find it in the lower elevations of the western valleys of Argentina along the famous Carretera 40 (route 40). This week we seek good weather, good friends, good wine and good food. It is the occasion for us to discover Argentina in a different way and we love it.
It is a bit of a slower rythm but we needed it before going back out to explore. Next week we go off for a new country: Chile! the occasion to discover a bit better this country!
Subscribe to the channel to be sure you do not miss what is coming up next on this world tour!
Until next week, take care!
Nick & Mathilde

Mendoza looks fantastic! I could definitely spend months exploring all the wineries and eating asados 😆 so good to see you two breaking your routine of eating pasta on the side of the road, lol
hooo you would probably love it. it is a great mix of city/restaurant/culture and nature, space and adventure!
Another amazing video and country 👏👏👏👏
thank you Lucio
Great to see you guys hanging out with Blue Landy , we enjoy their videos as much as yours .
Glad you like them! we did not have much time together. we hope we can see each other another time for a little adventure maybe
Good company,, good wine, good food, other than that I'll sleep on the furniture on the floor with the cats.

Ooooh amazing ! We miss the French alps wished we could ski
Wow Argentina🎉
So great!!!
🙏❤️👌👍
🫶💪😍
My two favorite channels meeting up! Bluelandy and Next Meridian, whohoo!
Hhhhey so cool! It is an honor !
Argentina looks great. I think you are right, you might be able to live there. In another life, I might be able to live there. I can see why the Nazis went there. I am so jealous of you because it is getting cold up here in N. America. Tonight we set the clocks back one hour. Tomorrow, the sun will set at 4:40. They do it so it is lighter in the morning, but am not a person who needs the early morning sun. I want late afternoon sun! It is so depressing. I would love to be where spring is coming, I could walk around in shorts and flip flops, and the sun sets at 8:30. Oh well, I will imagine I am you and live vicariously through you while my mind escapes to Argentina during your Saturday morning videos. That is the best I can do, but at least it is something. Thank you for providing the brief mental and emotional escapes.
Thank you Russ! Oooh I can imagine must be depressing. We had that it feels good to get longer days. At least shorter days makes appreciate the long days.
Awesome video as always Nick and Matilda. Argentina is so spectacular in so many ways the vineyard were so beautiful. My mom's family is from France it hurts so much to see all the baguettes cut in half. RIP baguette 🥖 y'all would have been very tasty had y'all not been cut so early in life.
hahahhahahahha rip baguettes!!! ;) but in reality there is also amazing bakeries in Argentina. we were just disappointed of carrefour which is a French supermarket brand
Oh no back to cold miserable regions with snow. You guys like your desolate areas with snowy mountains. 🤔😂😂😂
… too late hahahahahhaa wait for what’s coming
@@NextMeridianExpedition Okay 🤔👍🏻
35+ years ago..I went to Mexico and the exchange rate was 3000 pesos to the dollar..Going out to dinner..150,000 pesos...crazy
Wow it is insane
Air filter got wet. Only happened in South America to me too and went trough 4 filters in a year. Don't know why, never had this in other continents, maybe the altitude? Btw, Argentina is the best country in SA!
Yea I guess so!!
Enjoying the complete series.. very nice depcition of roads travel and landscapes... This series will surely inspire generations to travel. I would love to meet you guys in case your travel anywhere near to Mumbai, India.
So nice of you
Love Argentina so far...looking foward to your criss cross over the borders! My daughters partner just got a job at a winery in Oregon...Domaine Serene. They are known for their Pinot Noir. I am not much of a wine drinker but it sure looked like fun. I am a cider gal...I guess I live to close to Canada and that was always my favorite. Stay warm...looks like you are heading to cold again🥶🤪😁 I am no expert but I wonder if the filter got so clogged it pulled into itself? Just my 2 cents worth of knowledge 😅
We loooove cider 😍 that s cool! Ok good point !
BLUE LANDY !!!!
Yes!!!!
The wineries look fun.
I have seen similarly dirty air filters here in Outback Australia so make sure you carry a full set of spare filters.
Would love to only pay 40 cents a litre fpr diesel. Here in Queensland it is about $(AU) 2.20.
Aouch it s similar back home in Europe … hahahah we need to be ready for that in Australia
Hello. For those preparing their diesel vehicles for this trip, do you recommend adding an additional fuel filter? It's easy to do here in the US but difficult once I start my trip. Thanks
Yes we have two … in case
Mình đến từ Việt Nam 🇻🇳
Chúc hai bạn có một chuyến đi an toàn nhé
Hãy ghé thăm đất nước mình
we would loooooove to come to Vietnam. but we heard it is not possible to enter with a foreign plated vehicle... do you know anything about that?
I love following you and the other channels of people doing similar things in those countries. And then you do videos where you meet up with those people. So cool. Will you meet up with Toyota World Runners?
Oooh I don’t know! If we find each other maybe
Too cute about the baguette! did you ever buy Nutella in the US? I tried Nutella in the EU and it was so much flavorful.
yes !!!! it is more oily we found in the usa. there are a bunch of products we noticed were different. I think they change the recipe to adapt to slight change of tastes from one region to another...
That air filter got wet, or very blocked with dust, and then the suction from the engine sucked it up towards the intake. That must have strangled power?
Oooh interesting that might be !
Great to see you catch up with Blue Landy. By the way, if you think Argentina is good, wait till you get to Australia.
Hahahaha we are looking forward to it! But one thing is sure Australia can’t beat Argentina prices 😅😅😅
That air filter looked like it got wet. Was that a layer of hair on it or some kind of pre filter? That heater looks like it took a hard hit of some really not so good fuel. Did it go back together alright and start working again? I’m with Nick you can keep the cold water!
It is a layes of the filter yes. Our diesel heater clearly hated the Bolivian fuel hahaha
Glad you know how to work on your vehicle...the money you save
It is a lot indeed
Welcome my friend 🤗...in argentina no pasta ..
Meat grill.😁😁😊..
Gretings from mar del plata Argentina 🤗🤗🇦🇷🇦🇷.

I love thé fact that you met "blue landy". I also follow their trip. Travellers are really a community. It is obviously a good moment that you spend when you meet each other. You share that spirit of travels and discovery with us. Thank you. I keep dreaming with you.
Oooh amazing that you like them !!! It was really fun meeting them
The opening "Smile " of this video told me it had to be good!
🥰🥰🥰
Well done! Can't wait for the next episode now :-)
Thank you! 🙏🏻
Glad to see you out of jackets and into warmer weather!
Yes it was so nice !
Pour carrefour hip hip hip houraaaa
😜🥳🤣🤣🤣
Hip hip hip hurrah
What an amazing and diverse country Argentina is, even if they commit horrible crimes to baguettes! 😂🤣
Very nice wineries and beautiful countryside to explore.
Great to see you meet up with Bluelandy too. 😊
Did Kai tell you about sinking the Bluelandy in the river? 😅😮
Happy travels in Chile!
Hahahahahaha good point

How wonderful you met up with friends, I Have heard Argentina is beautiful and Mendoza with It’s wineries, what a treat!! The baguette’s 😂😂 enjoy Chile Nick and Mathilde ❤❤
23,000 feet? OMG. Everest is 29,000 feet, which I believe you'd need extra oxygen for as well? Only very few have done it successfully without.
I used to hike 14'ers with my first husband in Colorado, and doing so then when I was very fit would always feel like a tremendous accomplishment. At 6,000 meters, which is almost 20,000 feet, I can't imagine how hard this climb must have been for you two - but you DID it!
I can highly recommend Viña Vik in southern Chile. A wonderful place. Much better economy than Argentina.
Argentina can feel very European. After months in Mexico, Central America and the Andes countries, it’s not surprising they would enjoy it. Perennially messed up economy though.
yes you are right it feels suddenly more familiar compared to the other countries we crossed.
Argentina y Mendoza!❤❤❤
Yaaas ! The best
Менше показуйте себе. Більше краєвиди. Менше розмовляти.
Watch something else :) plenty of videos with more sceneries
No surprise about the diesel heater after all that dust but we could see from the hair that the solar was working just fine. I love the comparison with old-time storytellers and swapping of tales and advice as you meet up with other travellers, but unlike times gone by, you get to know each other online before you meet which gives it a whole new dimension.
I Kent wait to see the next episode❤❤
😍😍😍
Nice to see that you spend some time in a warmer region with trees. Thanks for showing us that nice area and the wineries. ❤🇺🇸🙏🏻👍🏻
Our pleasure!
What an epic journey
Thank you!
Argentina 🇦🇷 and Peru 🇵🇪 , good old friends since centuries . . .
Did you both do wine testing in Napa Valley California wine country? There are 12,000 wineries in the United States, and there are only 2000 wineries in Argentina. The top wine producing countries in the world are france, italy, Spain and the United States 🍹👍🏻🙏🏻
no we did not! maybe one day :)
How wonderful you met up with friends, I Have heard Argentina is beautiful and Mendoza with It’s wineries, what a treat!! The baguette’s 😂😂 enjoy Chile Nick and Mathilde ❤❤
Yes it was soooo nice we loved it
OK I'm jealous. Winery's, mountains, cheap money... I'm learning so much and have so many questions. R u guys going to Rio de Janeiro? Safe journeys 👼👼👼
We hope we can go ! For the carnaval! But nothing confirmed yet
As you like both high altitude and wines, do you know that the most elevated vineyard in the world is located in the Calchaqui valley in Salta, at 3111m (10200ft). It belongs to one of the oldest wineries in Argentina, Bodega Colomé, and the wine, a Malbec, is called Altura Máxima. Cherry on the cake, the winemaker is French!
Yes! Mathilde actually went 10 years ago ☺️☺️☺️ this time we did not go but it is amazing
I continue to be amazed at the exceptional lives you two are living and sharing, but sacré bleu no Nutella and murdered baguettes - mais non!!😮
And so happy to see your patrons list growing! You deserve it.
Thank you Joni! It is very kind of you
You are The best Vlogers
i agree!
Thank you Essam
Bonsoir 🤗🤗De mieux en mieux 😊👍Suuuper... Merciiii pour toutes ces infos. Profitez bien profitez... ☺️😊Bonjour le Chili 😉
Merci beaucoup Annick
How come you did not go to Quebec Canada that is very French and also New Orleans Louisiana that is very French. New Orleans is very famous for its food. Maybe some other time in your future.
We spent a full month in Québec. No New Orléans cause it was far away and our visa was expiring
@@NextMeridianExpedition Oh okay I'll have to go back and look at your Quebec videos.
You guys have lots fun! Love the Name Argentina & you are Lucky!
🥰🥰
I am interested to see more of Argentina. Im glad you will cross back and forth. Im looking forward to seeing more of Chile in the south. Nice to come out of the harsh elements. Cant wait to see more spring to summer in the southern hemisphere while i am getting colder in the northern hemisphere. ❤
I hope so too!
Wow
😍
Poor baguettes🤤🤣 how could they! Loved this leg of the journey . Its nice to meet up with friends and have a fun. Ive seen parts of the world i would never have dreamed of following you. You just convinced me I need to go back to Argentina ASAP

Could filter be due to elevation?
We think maybe it got wet somehow we are investigating now ..
