I just received a bottle of this for father's day. My first time, and it's very special. At 77 years old, I have owned and enjoyed many boats as an avid fisherman. I am now yearning for another.❤
Nice one John nice one! Yes the Guinness is good but I just wished a longer finish to get more of that creaminess but the Charred Oak with the Lagavulin mentholly peat is an absolute delight! Now I love rum cask influence with peated whisky and you're telling me that it's such a delicious dram and great for summer as well made me buy it 😃 Thanks for the review, cheers!
I really enjoyed this bottle too. Wonder who that Springbank rum cask was sourced from. I think only Captain Morgan is from a caribbean country out of Diageo's products ... which I don't think is aged? Maybe they produce rums for other stuff that is aged and not disclosed?
Thank you for the super fun and honest review. I thought the point about this addition being cheaper than Ardbeg is very valid. I passed up on this from the Total Wine concierge service. I’ll wait on it. It’s just getting too expensive and I do remember the other ones being around $78. I’m too stuck at the past.
Nice review John! Thanks so much! I have to get this Lagavulin immediately! Oh do i love Lag! I have thoroughly enjoyed the Lagavulin 11 Offerman expressions so far - the third (charred oak!) is my enormous favourite - so delicious! This is my favourite distillery so I always enjoy seeing Lagavulin reviews! Terrific thoughts and much appreciated! Rum is my least favourite casking but it's Lagavulin so I am very eager to try this beauty! Great food for thought! I hope you eventually get a chance to try the first expression from this superb series! No ice ever for me! Neat only! Lol! It will be a lot more expensive in Canada but I will always buy Lagavulin! The 11 will probably be about $165 before taxes and it's worth it to me to purchase and explore! Always when it's Lagavulin!! I am training for a marathon in mate May so I am pretty much having no alcohol at all (health but so I don't ever drink much) but I will be havibg a couple of drams of this new Offerman expression!! Cheers!
@@justwhisky I'm very excited John!! I agree this is a perfect time of year to have this release - how lovely over the summer! Love your tastings notes! Thanks for the awesome reply!! 🙂 Oh! I noticed another positive review at The Last Call channel - worth checking out! I suggested that he check out your review!! 🙂

You display great discipline in pausing your impulses.
All these are worth pursuing under $100
