The Tullibardine The Murray 12 CS was once the best "basic malt" I ever had, but I'm almost certain it's been discontinued. The new bottlings seem very lackluster and "meh".
@@MrChristopherMolloy would have loved to try that CS… to experience their distillate. I think they are a work in progress and need to find their stride. Cheers 🥃
@@justwhisky I would have agreed with you a few years back when these Murrays were first released, but something happened and they took several steps back since then. Their basic 12-year-old is 40% and that's no bueno for a company trying to win over new customers in 2024.
I passed on this one as I am not a huge port fan. I did pick up their well-priced 18-year-old, despite it being only 43%. I'm not sure I'd buy it again, but I quite enjoy it now and then, I had a nice dram of it last night by the campfire, in fact. Their stuff is pretty good, I just wish the specs were better. I'd love to find that Murray 12 CS. They seem to spend a lot on their packaging, if only they'd shift that investment into the whisky itself, I suspect they'd become more worthy of attention. For me, anyway. Thanks for the review. Cheers!
@@justwhisky Yay!! I love it!! I hope you can try it John!! Hope you still have awesome weather! I am recovering from food poisoning. No whisky until I am better. Yikes. I will never have lentil soup from a can again!! Lol! Cheers friend!!
@@christinecamley ok here’s my food poisoning remedy guaranteed… eat tablespoon of horseradish followed by peppermint tea… and eat some fresh cilantro! Horseradish kills stomach virus and cilantro kills salmonella! It Works! Get well soon 😇🙏
It's not a scotch I like but I have friends who do like it. $165 before taxes here so we'd never get another bottle. Great review John!
@@christinecamley yeah I get it… that price point is a commitment.
Cheers 🥃
@@justwhisky Right? Way too high.
Hi John, a small point of note. Your pronunciation of 'Marquess' should sound - Ma(r)kwis and not Marquee which is a large tent. 👍
@@stevenmiller231 Oui…I stand corrected 🙏😇
