I bought a box and I’m thrilled I did! I saved a lot too! Interesting video Tim! I have no problem with the Lagavulin Offerman Editions! They have all been fabulous.
I am enjoying this one, I actually think it's priced close to what it offers. Lot's of Lagavulin goodness with a bit more sweet/lemon. I'm early in, but definately enjoy this. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
It's not bad at all (I'm definitely going to finish my bottle ...). It certainly benefited from being open for a little bit. I'll be checking back in with it to see how it develops with time. Cheers!
Thanks for the honest and fair review. There’s a lot of these on the shelves in my area so I’ll wait till it goes on sale or maybe try to have it at a bar
We do sometimes see reviews differently! Sometimes I agree. I did not find the neck pour hot. I got oysters, charred lemon and unique Lagavulin smoke! Fabulous! I was very welcome from the first sip!
For me there’s nothing like Lagavulin smoke and brine! My fave is the charred. Every serious enthusiast I know is loving this 4th Edition. I guess I see it differently. I respect Lagavulin a lot.
I found this edition Mid. It’s fine but not great. A good summer pour but not something I need to have backups have. Spent 69 at Costco and for that price I’m happy with it
I’m 100% with you. It’s taste very good, it’s delicious. It’s just soft and IMO obviously chill filtered. It just rides an even wave below “the line”. I’m ok w the price as a special edition. Cheers!
These have been hitting Costco and other price clubs for $75. I really enjoy it for that price which put it near the same price level as the 8 year Lagavulin.
I am a big fan of this release and got it at a modest $109 Canadian which I felt good about. Prices about the same as the 8 year old…maybe a few bucks more. The profile and strength impressed me where the 16 falls a tad short. Alas I have not had the other expressions but would be game if presented with them.
Totally agree on this one. Not bad but just not a lot going on and the mouthfeel is lacking. Drinks like 43%. I’m shocked that so many are fawning over this one
$82 about 2 weeks ago. As long as its 46% and under $100 I'll keep the collection going. Its the only Diageo bottle I ever buy and the celebrity endorsement seems to work. As far as taste? I''m still working on the Guinness. And my next non CS peat to be cracked open???.. not sure at thia point. I did open the Meikle Toir Turbo as soon as i got it, but thats 50% as is the the GlenTurret 10. The GT could be sweeter so I add a touch of the 12year. The Meikle Toir is an intriguing option to find a favorite. Gotta love the Highland peat.
I thought it was fine for what I paid (it does say Lagavulin on it, so accounted for that). I had to open mine up after the neck pour, which wasn't what I would call hot, but was definitely peat dominant. After it opened up, the sweetness came through a bit, and tended to present differently sip to sip (sometimes honey, sometimes fruit, etc.). It definitely scratches the Islay itch, but I wouldn't buy it again.
I could not find it anywhere so I bought it online for $125 , UA-cam recommended me your channel you have a new subscriber
Welcome! Enjoy the Offerman.

Thanks! They're solid. Enjoy!

I think this is a fair review of the whisky. It's good, the casks work, it's enjoyable and that's about it; which is ok. Cheers Tim 🥃
Appreciate it. Cheers!

Appreciate it! It's definitely worth checking out if you can get a pour.

For me, the charred oak was a lovely drop
It was a good one.

Fair enough. These don't last forever ...

That's about what it should cost.
The mouth is weak? Wow! Hot? Prickly? We have never different palettes. I’m fairly sophisticated with scotch tasting. Cheers!

That's a good price. It's in lien with where I think this one should be. Enjoy!

It seems to have been unnecessarily filtered.

I can't argue with that.
it's so lame that they would color it and filter it despite it being at 46% abv
