This song is from one of my favorite albums, Rejoice. The Emotions were sisters from my city, Chicago. Two from this trio are still with us and performing with their daughters.
Ashley it seems like you're digging around in my record collection. The Emotions are the only group to sing with Earth Wind and Fire. And believe me that's speaks VOLUMES 💥💜
Emotions "Flower" is my favorite from them. The harmony hit so hard on that song. The beat is funky too. You can't help but rock side to side to that track.
I loved the way Maurice worked with them as his background. Then produced them with Verdine, Larry Dunn & Fred White doing the session work. Chicago style🎼🔥
Pamela Hutchinson was the lead singer. She passed away in Chicago on September 18, 2020 at the age of 61 after battling health issues for several years. The Emotions were originally a gospel group called the Hutchinson Sunbeams. They were so harmonious with voices like Angels. Pamela's voice was very soothing and captivating. RIP 🙏 ❤
Wow! The Emotions are a favorite! Talented! Beautiful! “I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love” “Flowers” “Boogie Wonderland” with EARTH, WIND AND FIRE “What Do The Lonely Do At Christmas” “Smile” “Best of My Love” “Don’t Ask My Neighbors” Great request and reaction! ❤️🩷🧡💛🩶🤎💚🩵💜🤍💟👏😎👍🏽💕💗🌹🌹🌷🌷🔥🔥🌻🌻🌼🌼🌸🌸🌺🌺🎵🎵🎶🎶
Such beautiful voices.....and this is one of the codes I live by....Don't ask my neighbor.....Never ask a friend I hang around....#Love #Life #Business
The Emotions. Brought me back to some sweet times. Their voices blended with their harmony is melodic. I am so much enjoying your content as well as your reactions. Working while listening and reminiscing. God bless you.
The Emotions from Chicago,IL. Sheila, Jeanette and Wanda Hutchinson started singing in 1962 as the Gospel music group, The Hutchinson Sunbeams. They signed with Stax Records as The Emotions in the late 1960s. They released their debut single "So I Can Love You" in 1969. After Stax folded the signed to Columbia Records and released the album "Flowers" in 1976. In 1977 they released "Best of My Love" from the album "Rejoice". The single was a #1 hit on the Billboards R&B and Pop Charts.
Oh yes yes yes my junior high school crush just appeared in my head and I can still hear her saying the same thing " Don't be asking nobody about me ask me " we dated for 2 years 😁
One of best ladies group for a long time. Based out of Chicago ( Hey). Up in coming in the day Chaka Khan said she always came in 2nd place back in the day. Note: They are sisters.
I wuz still in high school in Hawaii an oldie but goodie great song dreaming about romance and love even at my age at that time when I was young. Mahalo!!!
I'm making this comment before you even pull out your pin. Cause I know you're gonna pull it out for this song. There's not 1 person who's ever heard this song. That doesn't like it. Now let me watch your reaction and see if i'm right
Before the Emotions went to Columbia records, they were on Stax records and had a couple of soul hits "Show Me How" and "So I Can LOVE YOU" written and produced by Issac Hayes and David Porter. Stax went bankrupt and A lot of the artist there was left high and dry. But the Emotions recovered and went on to become one of the best girl groups of the 70, s
While Deployed Overseas during the 70's, us youngins use to sip 🍾 & groove 🎶 to this joint on the regular in our barracks while off duty. Man O man the MEMORIES!! Shoutout to the 86th. Tactical Fighter Wing🇺🇲hoooah!!!💪 #MilitaryLife💥
As I recall....the album had a longer version that ebbed and flowed so well. I had it on loop...on my reel to reel. This was the slow jam highlight...at least for me. The EW&F connect was so evident...but the girl's harmonies are just On Point and sultry. Those uptempo horns that punctuate this tune is just.....chef's kiss! Thanks for the nostalgia...plus your rave review. Bravo!!
Ashley come on The Emotions you just keep banging them out hits on top of hits reaction shout out to those that request these amazing music late 70's - mid 90's was the greatest time to be alive for music.
The Emotions were an influential girl group that had a lot of success in the late seventies/early eighties!Check out the song they did with Earth, Wind, and Fire called Boogie Wonderland! One of the members dated Phillip Bailey of EW&F!❤❤
By the way, she should see the when they were young performing Peace Be Still filmed in a church used in the Wattstax film/movie. I've been in love with them ever since.
😂Keep It Real Miss Ashley.."NO CAKEFACE!".. A Lot Of Women Don't Even Need It. But Still Use It.(🤷🏾♂️baffling🤷🏾♂️)...If you have natural beauty, then show the real face.😊👍🏾💯💯💯💯
Natural Beauty is what a man really wants. I hated taking my suit to the dry cleaners and have to ask them: “ Can you take this face off my coat or shirt ?” 🤨 You rock with nothing but natural beauty. Your husband is blessed 🙏🏽🌹✌🏼😎
At one time in the late 1970s, The Emotions were the number one girl group in the world. Check out, best of my love live on soul train if possible. Also, flowers and soul I can love you from their Stax days.
Direct from the UK here! These girls were badly promoted over here! You guys don’t know how lucky you are! Seriously! The EWF vibes are clear and sweet
Before En Vogue, there were The Emotions... The original 3 part harmony girls, with the sound of Maurice White & E.W.F. And yes, you are naturally beautiful... 🎶💖
You really need to hear Somos Novios sung by this group. These ladies had so much talent that they even sung in Spanish and sounded like true musical goddesses that made them one of lots of females favorite women groups I can hear forever. Please check them singing in Spanish 👌👍
I was in the sixth grade when this came out. This was/is an absolute masterpiece. This song had everybody getting up the courage to approach their crush. Such melodic voices, harmonizing perfectly.
Another Soulful Sister Trio from the '70's. I don't know if you've already done a reaction to The Jones Girls (Nights Over Egypt, Who Can I Run To and You Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else), but you'd probably like them as well. God Bless and Enjoy!!
