All due respect to the late Dusty Springfield in pushing pre-BBC exec's so hard to bring the Tempts, The Vandellas, Miracles, & early Supreme's for the "Motortown revue" in England. No dummy, was Dusty!

She didn’t push pre BBC execs. This was on ITV and produced by the woman behind the best ever music programme,Ready Steady Go! It wasn’t early Supremes, they were the top Motown act by this time. Neither did Dusty push to bring them over. They were touring and although going down well with the Mods playing to half empty venues. Dusty got Vicki Wickham of RSG fame to do a special. The Temptations were not on the tour and brought over just for this TV show. Which was my first sighting of them and confirmed what a great singer David Ruffin was. After this went out the shows on the tour sold out. Berry Gordy has always expressed his gratitude to Dusty, as have Smokey Robinson and others.
I simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to leave a post. The Temptations were an extraordinary group filled with talent and unlimited potential. They left an indelible mark and set high standards that will never be eclipsed. T loved their ballads then, I love their ballads now. Rest in peace gentlemen...

I grew up as a teenager with these songs, and you just had a sense that this music and artist were special, and would be remembered for a long time.
I was 14 years old, living in the UK, We had the beatles, the Stones etc. It was all happening. The Rowan and Martins laugh in was on TV, a group came on and sang "Get Ready'', Yes it was the Temptaions, my musical taste was forever changed. Still a soul boy at 72...........can't help it! Love these guys.
WOW!!! I didn't know they performed this. This is my absolute favorite Ruffin-led song. So happy to have found this. The vocals drive me crazy! So clear and crisp.

DAVID RUFFIN, THE REAL SOUL OF MOTOWN. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR VOICE WITH THE WORLD.
David ruffin live shows was great. I met him after one of his shows we talked a few minutes. I really enjoyed that night.
what was he like?
All due respect to the late Dusty Springfield in pushing pre-BBC exec's so hard to bring the Tempts, The Vandellas, Miracles, & early Supreme's for the "Motortown revue" in England. No dummy, was Dusty!
Thank you friend.
I have this entire concert hosted by Dusty on VHS. The Bible says “......train up a boy (or a girl) in the way....”. From infancy, my daughter knows everyone of these cats along with all their hits. Forever will I love 💕 them!!!!!!!
@@roslyncollins6307 PLEASE, PLEASE, find out how to get it posted on UA-cam. That would be worth GOLD. This is the best place to make sure it's preserved for history.
Props to her
She didn’t push pre BBC execs.
Rest in peace gentlemen...
this song is perfect in so many ways.
Ohhh David I have to listen to you twice, cause YOU BLOW MY MIND WITH SOUL..WE MISS YOU BEAUTIFUL BELOVED BROTHER
