I’m so glad you made a tutorial. I’ve watched a few already. They either spend all their time talking up people on screen (live feeds are a pain) or they don’t show the details like you do or they go way toooooooo slow! 🦥
@@OklaRoots don’t cry, unless tears of joy. I’ve been watching you forever! And what sealed the deal for me is the professional manner in which you speak…you never say “ummm” lol. #realdeal
I literally just made this bag last month for my trip to Chicago! It's so perfect to carry your phone, ID, boarding pass and a lip gloss. Fabulous pattern too! I l9ve your sunflower one! ❤😊
@janetbailey4282 For me, I worked on it over about 4-5 days. I couldn't do day long marathon sewing that week, so I would work on it probably 2 hours at a time every other day.
Just made this bag. Thank you very much! You really helped me move thru this pattern. I used a denim, a print and two solids. Plan on using it for airplane travel as well as bike rides and kayaking. Making one for my husband next. Thank you for a great video!
Jess. Thank you for your very clear instructional tourtorals. I love that you include the supplies you use in them. I can't seam to find the pink marking pen shown in the tourtoral. Could you please point me in the right direction to purchase it?
Excellent tutorial! I’ve been looking for a sling that births the lining! And this one is adorable and easy to follow your guidance!thank you!!!I do buy straps already made and they clip on perfectly!
Bought the Kandou Mini Travel sling instantly after watching your tutorial. You are so correct about fabric choices. Difficult fabrics are what make the bag a beginner bag, an intermediate , or experienced bag sewer. I started making bags about two years ago. I started making my bags with marine vinyl on a Janome 4129 QDC. THE MICOTEX NEEDLES made it possible to sew on vinyl. After a year I decided to sew on a semi professional machine and bought the Janome 1600P QDC. I HAVE GOTTEN better results on the stitching. But I have a long ways to go to figure out selection of material to use, as far as the weight, density, texture, etc. I have had many years of sewing clothes, home decor, etc. Bag making is my favorite now. I am 74 y.o.. I better get moving have much more to learn. Thanks again! I have mostly watched your tutorial and countrycow designs. You both are very humble and give very good tips. Thank you for your expertise with sewing the patterns that you cho have chosen.
I just made my first sling bag. It turned out adorable. Thank you so much for everything you do. You are just awesome teacher. I love your videos. I was out of interfacing so I used fusible fleece and it was good.
This is such a cute bag!! It’s great for going on walks where you only need your phone and I.D. Thank you for showing this tutorial!! You always do a great job!
Right on time! I have been sitting on this pattern for a bit. I have an upcoming trip to see my grandkids so I will need this. Probably need to make some as gifts too. Thanks for all you do bringing us these tutorials. I am going to join the Bee Box club right now! You are the BEST!!
I just bought the August Bee bag the other day and I already received it. That was very fast. Hip hip horray!!!! Can't wait to get started. Thank you much❤️
I am so happy that you have put out this tutorial! I love this bag and have made a few, but there's just something about having one of your tutorials vs. reading a pattern. Thanks Jess!
I just made this! I was watching a different video of yours and I thought I was grabbing the right pattern but got this one. can't wait to make it again with you. for a beginner it came out pretty good even with a few major mistakes along the way
I purchased the pattern and I’m in the process of cutting out the fabric. I can not see any instructions for the size of the D rings or the D ring strap. Can you tell me?
I e already made a few of these all with the button tab, I LOVE that this was omitted in this video and don’t feel so bad about wanting to get rid of it when sewing the previous ones😂 now I feel betting about omittting in future makes
I love this pattern and use this bag when I hike. It holds all I need and because it’s a sling the bag is tight to your body and can even be under your jacket/coat. I use this bag often. It’s one of my favorites.
Fantastic video, love the way you go through each section lovely and clear. It’s a very useful bag. Just brought the pattern, need to find some nice fabric to make it ❤
Jess, Do you do orders of acrylic patterns, like I would love to get this pattern in acrylic after I buy the pattern? Have you done that for anyone yet? I think it would be a great addition to your business, especially well so many of them lolol Jess, thank you for the detailed instructions.
The BEST tutorial! I got the pattern after seeing this! Thanks for being a great teacher. Where did you find the slider and snap hooks you used on this one?
You know what, if you installed a grommet on the bottom pocket under the zipper, you could definitely have a little poo bag dispenser. Such a good idea!
Love your videos and your shop. You’re doing a great job!! Where do you get your marking pens from. I go through so many of them. They just stop working or skip.
Thinking out loud here . . . A D ring on both sides makes it easy to switch direction, but also using a D ring to attach the top of the strap could allow for converting this to a backpack style using two straps? Or am I totally off my rocker? 😂
Oh wow! 7 is impressive! We left the snap off because we didn't include it in the box. So wanted to show different options, for those who don't have the ability to add snaps.

Do you have a list of what the future bags will be?
Cheaper to buy a similar bag. I checked the cost of the material and the pattern, the material alone would cost $15 to $20 Canadian, the pattern is anywhere from $15 to 35 US. That makes the cost of the bag roughly $30 and up by US standards and higher if Canadian.
I send a message asking if I can join to get this very box I really hope so. If not would anyone know where I can buy the materials. Or that beautiful fabric? Thank you
Cute bag. I would fold that pattern piece with the diagonal and just use it to mark the line. Or make a second one and cut the top off to use as a template. Wham bam and done.... 🙂
Thanks for this video! In minute 33 you are putting together the back zipper pocket and the lining corners don't match the back exterior material, I think the lining should be cut wrong side up with the pattern template and then those corners will match up when putting it together...
Bonded nylon is a nylon material that has a backing that prevents stretch and fray. It's very easy to work with. You can definitely use waterproof canvas instead.
I have my club box. In the directions it says to interface, on you tube you are using nylon (flower) and waterproof fabric for accent, did you interface the nylon?
Super cute! I love the sunflower one! The color yellow, the sunflower prints, the gingham fabric! It all rocks!!!
Great video. No senseless talking just explaining. Loved it. Cantbwait to make it
I have been watching you for years. I finally made a bag, this one!
It looks quick because you make it look easy. With this tutorial by my side I know I can do this😂 thank you for sharing. I love all your tutorials ❤

It really is such a well thought out pattern!
How long does it take to make?

Such a fun print! ❤

Have made this bag (several times) It is a great pattern for travel. THANK you Jess for sharing!
I just love how so many folks have made this many times. What an incredible pattern.

Yayyyyyyy!!!! I was hoping you would do this tutorial!
A sling bag is just so useful. And I love the size of this!
I love your videos and am excited to watch your video (later!) to see what amazing techniques you use.
I just bought the August Bee bag the other day and I already received it. That was very fast. Hip hip horray!!!! Can't wait to get started. Thank you much❤️
This is a great pattern and you make anthem so fun. Love your videos.
Thanks for the tutorial! I read the pattern and I was so confused. Now I’m ready to sew! 😊
Oh you got this! Have fun making it!
Awesome instructor! I think even I could make one. I think I’ll try it. My daughter wants to learn too.

I think this may be the cutest bag I’ve ever made!
I just bought the Kandou retro- style sling. I’m hoping to do it soon, having to work up some courage 😎
Oh you're going to LOVE that one! Such a beautiful bag.
The BEST tutorial! I got the pattern after seeing this! Thanks for being a great teacher. Where did you find the slider and snap hooks you used on this one?
Can I purchase this month's Bee Box as a stand alone purchase?
Gabby has it posted on her website I believe "Wonderground Fabrics"
I love those materials. I hope they plan on selling that design.
Nice.
I received my box and so excited to get started. My instructions do not include what size to cut the piece for the D rings.
Thank you!
that would be perfect for a walk on the beach or going for a bike ride and walking the dog . you can put your poo bags and dog treats in it
And human treats too!
You know what, if you installed a grommet on the bottom pocket under the zipper, you could definitely have a little poo bag dispenser. Such a good idea!
Beautiful! I with to be your mother-in-law!
I would love to join your bag making B club starting at August.
The problem is I live in Queensland, Australia and postage is ridiculous
Love your videos and your shop. You’re doing a great job!! Where do you get your marking pens from. I go through so many of them. They just stop working or skip.
Can you make a tutorial for the Siena Convertible Backpack Sewing Pattern by Kandou please??
Thinking out loud here . . . A D ring on both sides makes it easy to switch direction, but also using a D ring to attach the top of the strap could allow for converting this to a backpack style using two straps? Or am I totally off my rocker? 😂
Sooo cute!! I think I've made 7 of these now! Love the pattern!! Wondering why you left the little snap tab off the front?
Oh wow! 7 is impressive! We left the snap off because we didn't include it in the box. So wanted to show different options, for those who don't have the ability to add snaps.
Do you have a list of what the future bags will be?
The list is in my head and changing constantly. So at this time, it's fluid.

Thanks for this video! In minute 33 you are putting together the back zipper pocket and the lining corners don't match the back exterior material, I think the lining should be cut wrong side up with the pattern template and then those corners will match up when putting it together...
Jess, alll at once I am finding my finished front is up to 2 inches smaller than the back....what am I doing different all of a sudden.
Can you use cotton for this project??
Can these be made with cotton fabrics?
Is the slip pocket big enough for a small or medium water bottle?
Where did you get the kit for the 2 bags I want to purchase to make them
Where do you find your bag boxes
How would I get my hands on this exact kit? The link provided doesn't show them...

Bonded nylon is a nylon material that has a backing that prevents stretch and fray. It's very easy to work with. You can definitely use waterproof canvas instead.
How do you know what is the right side and wrong side of the WPC??

Can we buy the kit?
How do I get the pattern to make some of those bags.
