Please help me with the boxing of the corners. They never come out Even. I have to keep redoing them, so the bag is not lopsided. What is the trick to doing them right and easy. Thank you.
Margaret Bachmeier OH my goodness I just left a comment with the exact same issues I’m having making this bag. I made one tonight and it’s very uneven. The zipper also doesn’t close right. Please help me too.
@@margaretbachmeier5299 It might be easier to think of the corner like.........when you fold it to the point, right down the middle seam measure 1/2" down and draw you line across. it is the same as the other method, but instead of trying to keep a 1" on each side,. you just measure Down 1/2" and mark across. maybe that will help.
I knew there had to be a better way of boxing those corners. I made a small bag earlier, same design but from another channel. I got totally flustered when she cut the corners *before* stitching. I like this way much better. I think the key is to use thin lining fabric so those corners aren't too bulky.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE bag to make!!! I’ve literally spend the past few days watching tutorials for zippered bags, trying to find the perfect one. THIS IS, BY FAR, my very favorite. Thank you so much!!
Agreed!!!!!
I love this itty bitty boxy bag I put a grommet in the other side of the bag and it is perfect for doggy poopoo bags and pull them out the grommet one at a time
Hi, just found this tutorial on sunday , and I am now addicted to making them and there is something you need to know....I am not a sewer and have never put a zip in anything before Monday I am now on bag number 10 your tutorial was excellent, they are being used as mask holders, so just wanted to say thankyou 😊
Thats so awesome I'm going to make a couple today
I know you have a video for a larger bag for dog walking, but I think this is great for that purpose. My daughter clips a small bag to the leash. I think she will love this for that purpose. Thank you.
Your videos have really helped me fall back in love with sewing again! I’ve seen tons of sewing videos and none have actually made me dust off the sewing machine till I found your channel 😂
That's such a kind compliment Ashley. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment. I can't wait to hear what you make!
I'm starting a small sewing/knitting/needlecraft class for the local community at Hope St, my local social services joint. Needless to say, there isn't much $$$ for fabric, so this tutorial and many others on your channel are a godsend for me as they don't use much fabric and I can source them from scraps from Hope St's op-shop. Indeed, your tutorials are travelling from your place, to my place, and into the hands of the homeless and disenfranchised at Hope St in Woolloomooloo, Sydney Australia - so, thanks a million, Jess! And please keep the scrappy projects coming! ;-)
Wow Helena, that's absolutely incredible! Thank you so much for the work you're doing for your community. I 100% believe that when we find we can create something with our hands, we value ourselves so much more. I hope your students love making these and take pride in their work. Thank you for sharing this with me!
@@OklaRoots I couldn't agree more, Jess! ;)
Helena Angelina quilt time
@@georgiannabarrus9757 Yeah, I'm into sewing clothes and bags, but have never touched a quilt - yet! But I was thinking that a t-shirt quilt could be cool, because we have access to loads of second hand clothes. ;)
These are so cute!! I want to make them for all my nieces now. I had a thought that they’d be great for carrying dog poop bags too!
Once again, late to the party...but I just made one of these for my daughter’s dolls...as a “cosmetics bag!” So cute!
Just an FYI for anyone making these, Walmart also sells the spiral plastic bracelets in the hair accessories department.
That's a great tip, thank you Glenda!
That's awesome to know! Thank you Glenda!
I got my spiral plastic bracelets from my local Dollar Tree store. For anything I need, I always look in the DT first.
@@veevee111 what do they cost?

I love your tutorials coz it is not skipping steps. For beginners like me it is an absolute help. Thanks 🙏
Thank you. I will be making these as wonderful wee gifts for sure
So cute! Thank you for the great and clear instructions. Will def be making these!
Just made one along with you. Love it!!! Will be making more.
Boy, you thought of everything! thank you for the time stamps as I make a bag along with you!
These are adorable!! What a great idea for keys when I’m walk/running.
Right? They are fun to make too.
When I’m doing my walks, I also always carry my inhaler & my nitrotabs, as well as Kleenex & my phone! Not sure if these are big enough to put your phone in, but it wouldn’t be hard to adjust the dimensions to accommodate one!
Great video!! You are my favorite channel at the moment.. I get up everyday and check to see if you have a new video.. Thank you for all the free patterns that are the BEST!!
That's so sweet Jamie! I wish I could put out a new video every day!
Me too
I LOVE this. Just made my first one. Thanks Jess!
Hi Jess! I made my first itty bitty boxy bag tonight and I just love 'em! I am starting to make holiday gifts and these little beauties will be included in all of my gift giving. Thank you so much for making this tutorial and for making it so EASY to understand! I'll be making basic boxy bags too! :)
These are adorable ❣️
And the tip on fusible interfacing has helped answer a question about my interfacing for years thank you 🙏
When you were hand sewing there closing I had to lol cause I saw a mouth smiling at me 🤣
Haha I think the bag liked being on camera! I'm glad this video could help!
Wow, that's a good idea. It's very handy. I can see myself using this.
I use these WAY more than I thought I would. They're just so easy to carry.
So cute Jess. Thank you 😀
Too kind of you to share this adorable boxy bag! Perfect teachers gifts. Going to make a bunch for my granddaughters preschool teachers to put a small hand sanitizer and chap stick while watching the kids outside. Thank you!
Awwww that's such a sweet idea Kathy! I agree, great for teachers. Makes it easy for them to take out to the playground as well.
I have become slightly obsessed with these little gems!!!! 🇦🇺😊
I finally made a couple today.. Soooooo easy. I love them. Great way to use up scraps. I am going to put mine on lanyards .....from Brisbane Australia. xx
Thats a great little bag! Perfect for garage sale hopping!
Thanks for sharing this tutorial!!! Your instructions are so easy to follow and I can't wait to get started on making these boxy bags!!!
I found these perfect for a Valentine's Day gift for my 3 grand daughters. Thank you.
You know on Valentine’s Day the dollar tree is very resourceful. Place to get the supplies.❤
Thank you!!!!! I was able to use your instructions to make myself an unusually long key holder that hides the rest of the keys I'm not using at any time. Had to be long for a very long key I have to carry around all the time. Made mine out of Japanese fabric and I love it. What a star you are, lovely easy clear instructions. I am absolutely buzzing with joy!
In the 1959’s they were called bullet bags. Larger and leather. I still have mine.
Thank you so much for making tutorials. I'm only just getting started and it's so helpful to see it done instead of looking at a pattern. Much love Jess!!
Thank you! I'm happy this helps!
I am so obsessed with making these. They are so cute.
I just finish one and i truly adore. Thank you
Was in need of a small pouch for my shampoo bar. At the last minute desided not to box the corners. Love it!
I just discovered your videos the past week and I'm hooked! I just started sewing in February and you are by far the easiest person to follow for sewing tips and advice! Thank you for the videos! Can't wait to try this one!
Once again you show yourself to be a star 🌟 bet your mum is proud ... thank you so much X
Awww thank you! Mama OklaRoots loves these things. She was excited I ::finally:: made a tutorial to share with you all!
I found this video a few months ago and have watched it several times and finally made one tonight, it was so easy and fun to make, thank you for the tutorial! These are going to be awesome stocking stuffers! Happy holidays!
Omgoodness I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed your video!! I have sewn for YEARS but learned a few new things just watching you. I LOVE the leader material so much that I played just that part back a few times and then stopped the video to give it a try. THANK YOU!
thank you for the clear instructions and for using a whole zipper!
I’ve been watching all sorts of box pouch videos this week, and this is the first one that mentions the fusible fleece will shrink! Thanks!
This is my favorite tutorial you’ve done. I’m going to make one today.
I hope it turned out great Diane!
You are a great instructor ! I’ve made dog waste bag holders in the past and lost my dimensions. I’ve been asked to make more so I was so glad to find your tutorial! I quilt my fabric quickly as you described and make a 1inch buttonhole in the back before construction for the bags to thread through. Thank you so much and I had to sub!!
That's such a great idea Wendy! Thank you for sharing!
These little bags are great. I am going to sew up as many as I can
So made 2 of these, one for when I go walking and one for my inhaler. O think many more to come!! Thank you for your clear instructions 😃
That's an incredible use for these! I'm so happy you like them!
Thank you Jess for sharing this and how we can use our scraps to make these insanely cute itty bitty boxy bags! Maybe you could do a series of what else you make with your scraps...love how you teach and explain things as your passion is contagious ❤️
I try to include scrappy projects as often as possible. I also love ways to use them. Great idea!
Fantastic tutorial for a cute and useful pouch. I will make this to attache to the handle of my dog's leash so I always have treats for him. Will be especially useful in summertime when I don't always have a pocket.
I have made 5 or 6 of these assembly line style while watching along with you and made matching wristlet straps for them. Your tutorial was so easy to follow! Thank you!! ❤️
These little boxybags are adorable thank you so much for sharing Jess🤟🏼💖✨❣️
I'm glad you like them!
What amazingly clear instructions ! Thankyou.
Thanks Jean!
Love this tutorial, from a fellow Okie
Thank you for the detail, very helpful.
These are so cute! ❤ what a thoughtful gift for any occasion!❤🤗
I honestly can't think of anyone who wouldn't like this as a gift. It's just so handy!
Thanks for sharing this! I am just getting into sewing as a new hobby (my sewing machine is arriving tomorrow!!) and this pattern looks simple enough for a beginner like me! My goal by the end of the year is to make the Swoon Denver mini backpack so I'll be making lots of these as practice... I already know what everyone is getting for Christmas from me! ;)
I love this! Can’t wait to use up some scraps!
Have fun Barb!
Omg!! These are great for carrying your masks on your key chain!!!

Great instructions! I have already made one and it is perfect. I will be making more! Thank you!
That's fantastic! They are pretty fun to make.
Sew adorable!! Love that they fit a credit card easily
Yes! That was the one downside to the 200+ I made years ago, couldn't fit a card.
I made this today. Pretty fun to make.
This would make a great notions pouch for knitters/crocheters. I am so making some of these for my friends! Thank you.
Awww these will be great friend gifts Julie!
Thank you so much, absolutely love the way you teach.... 👌

Super cute! Fun and easy to make thank you for great tutorial!!!
Great video thank you, love the idea to use these as fish extenders super handy on the cruise!
I cannot wait to get back to cruises!
Thank you for this tutorial. You made it so easy for me. I am so grateful for your guidance. I learned the “leader” piece of fabric from you and that little trick is amazing! Wish I knew that earlier in my sewing life. Love my itty bitty and planning on making more.
Wow that is such a great idea about the ‘leader’ piece of fabric at the sewing machine! I also wish I had known about this years ago!
I'm going to use this to keep my contact lens case and my mini contact lens solution bottle. This is such a great idea. Thank you so much ❤️
That's such a great idea!
I found your project perfect for gifts n give-a-away for any occasion. Ty for sharing.
Wonderful! These are such fun little gifts!
I love these boxy bags!!!!!
I love these itty bitties. I have made several and gifted them to my granddaughers who use them on their back packs and sport bags. I make mine from left over quilt blocks. I have a box of rogue blocks and if a block isn't quite big enough I just add some borders to it.
Thank you for this!
Great tutorial. A year ago I was afraid to try it. Today, different story and it came out terrific because of your instructions. Thank you so much!!!
I watched several tutorials on these little bags and yours was the best. Very straightforward and easy. Thank you for putting this together.
Excellent, clear tutorial. Thank you! Lovely that you put the dimensions onscreen!
I'm glad it was helpful Christine!
love it!!! thank you soooo much!!!❤️🇵🇭
Thanks Jess for showing this. You showed me so details as usual. I’ve been making this for dog poop bag pouch😍.
Thank you so much for sharing this great project. I love your tutorials because you explain every step so precise. You also give little helper tips as well like the starter cloth I use this all the time and it helps. 😀
Thank you so much Janette! I actually learn a lot of these tips in the comments of my videos. It's so amazing how the sewing community comes together to help each other!
You explain things very well! Thank you for a cute project
Thank you Sandy!
Hi Jess. Just want to thank you for this tutorial. I love it! I’ve made numerous bags , but none small like this one. Planning giving them as gifts to my co workers with goodies inside. Keep making tutorials,, love them all!
You are the sweetest and so generous with your ideas and patterns. Blessings and success to you. ❤️🙏. I know what I am going to make today.
Thank you Caroline! Let me know if you make one!
Another great project Jess! You have really great ideas 😊❤️! Off to my room to see what I can conjure up!!! Thank you!

OH! How did I miss this! My first (and only Disney Cruise so far) was 5 years ago, but I would have totally done something! Now I want to plan another just so I can do something like this. :D
Right Tina?! I'm seriously close to booking another cruise, just to share these (maybe to do a few other things as well...)

Thank you! I do hope these videos can help folks get their minds off of the mess, just for a moment.
Cute little bag. Great that you're giving your C+S Bernina some love!
