Absolutely gorgeous. Thank You Katherine for sharing your journey with us. It is indeed breathtaking, the emerald green waters, the winding roads (almost got "carsick" just by watching the roads wind like that), and the view from above taken by the drone.
Those mountains look like my mountains in Western North Carolina, just without the snow. Thankfully, our snow is mild and later in the Winter season. Thanks for showing us another area of the Sichuan Province.
I went there 18 or so years ago. At that time, the road along Min River was so dangerous that I thought I might die there. All the passengers in our bus were quiet and watching how close the bus was to the edge of the river bank. Of course, I made it back to Chengdu. JZG is simply a magical place, no doubt.
Thanks for the upload. It brings back memories of our visit there in 2018. It was a week or two after an earthquake, and thus, to allow nature to restore and repair, only 1000 or 2000 daily visitors were allowed in at Jiuzhaigou. Like what you had with rainy events, we bought disposable raincoats that gave us protection also from gusts. Jiuzhaigou, if I understand correctly, means "Nine villages or valleys". Since I don't speak Chinese (my wife does), and the guide couldn't understand English, we ended up doing a lot of hand signing. He checked our passports, found out our ages, and stopped us from climbing to the top of the Nuorilang waterfall. Ironically, a lady in our group, probably in her early 50s, almost fainted climbing some of the stairs. We saw Dujiangyan, Huanglong, several Tibetan temples, and spent a night at the Minjiang Haoting International hotel in Songpan. Sadly, we also saw scars of the 2008 violent earthquake along the way. The images of the pristine lakes would however want us to go back there again.
Yeah we saw some people getting really exhausted on the stairs , some people even had oxygen tanks , the elevation makes it feel like a harder climb than it is 🤣
It must have been awesome to witness the changing water color and as an environmental engineering major, you know exactly why. Thanks for this amazing trip, and Wei already called you, "wife" :D ?

I went there in 2005. Remember that windy road! I didn't get carsick, but I did get "drunk" due to the thinning oxygen level. You have to visit Huang Long too! There are a million stairs in HuangLong too lol & must try to yak ham next time you visit. They're delicious, though I felt guilty for eating such a pretty animal. JiuZhaiGou & HuangLong should be in everyone bucket list!
it is so much fun to watch your video, I was in Chengdu back to July 2019, but too bad missed out Jiu Zhai Gou when it was under renovation. hope one day I could come back and visit it
I been to JiuZhaiGou three times, all before the big quake. But it's a big place and you can actual get to stay inside if you apply for a permit. If you wander around, the lakes, pools and water features takes on different styles and structure and each one of them is amazing. To really see JZG, you need 3 days or more. The earthquake may change some of the pools and overall it's such a pristine and lovely place. Bonus, Huanglong is nearby (I think 1 or 2 hrs journey) and its full of calcite pools that is also amazing.

You are living the life . Envy you !
This is what we came here for travel to place we only saw in documentary video. Now we can see how hard it take to get to the main attraction. Awesome journey you take us.
Its soo beautiful there. Thanks for sharing. 谢谢
Thank you Katherine, loved it
Such beautiful tranquil 九寨沟👍👍🙏🙏thanks for sharing! Really enjoyed watching!
I have been to Huang Long, Aba, Jiu Zhaigou, Dujian Yang in 2014. Words cannot describe the beauty.
Great video! I'd love to visit Sichuan mountains!
it is so much fun to watch your video, I was in Chengdu back to July 2019, but too bad missed out Jiu Zhai Gou when it was under renovation. hope one day I could come back and visit it

Love your videos and your man is so cool🤣
good job wonderful video recording China.Better understanding each other make better world.
It looked even more gorgeous and breathtaking before the earthquake.
Yeah I wish we had had more time , hope to visit again next year 😍
Magnificent !
So beautiful!
If the Chinese people stopped believing their media and the American people stopped believing their media, we'd be halfway to world peace by now. It's a pity that the two most beautiful countries on earth are being ruined by their leaders--and for no good reason. Thank you for doing "God's work" in showcasing the beauty of this country, Katherine! It's gorgeous!
Always loved your narrative,
