Jahrhunderte weit entfernt von dem was wir hier bei uns haben. Eine Eisenbahn die quasi auf die Sekunde pünktlich ist mit einem so gut ausgebauten Netz. Oh man, davon können wir nur träumen und alles eingebettet in eine atemberaubende Landschaft und liebenswerte Menschen. Ich werde es nie vergessen

I did it at the end of 90s, from Chengdu to Lhasa, by truck, the the road was called Death Road, but the scenery is stunningly beautiful. Now the road conditions are way way way better!
@@mrchildrenen People over 50 should be cautious, but if you enter Tibet by public transportation, it is not a big problem. Avoid strenuous exercise such as cycling and long-distance walking, and carry some oxygen with you in case of accidents.
What a great trip. It's great to see Long Distance Intercity Bus Trip in China, because in big country like China, people prefer to take flight or train, especially in China they have massive High Speed Train network. The route is breathtaking, 180° different than metropolitan counterparts, plenty of winding and mountainous road, between cliff and water zone, and definitely agree when in bad weather is full of uncertainty. It's surprising me to see, the Google map is working. I hope in the future you can do more Long Distance Bus trip report like this, since previously when I watched Trip Reports in China, it always train or flying. Lastly, greetings from Country in Southeast Asia who recently have it's First High-speed Train from your country.

China's high-speed rail and infrastructure construction are not for profit. This is what is very strange about the Americans and Taiwanese. Their governments obey the orders of private consortiums, so their national projects must make huge profits before they are allowed to be built.@@maxcv1609
Just look at that road infrastructure. China has certainly got it right where civil investment is concerned, and this is just the ONE road. Include their high speed rail network, and it's obvious they plan for the people rather than corporations. Take note, USA.

I took the bus from Chengdu to Tibet, and then from Tibet to Xinjiang in 2007. Trust me, the road condition is much better now.
We did the train from Chengdu to Tibet mid2000's. Great trip. Bus wasn't possible when we did the trip.

２０年ほど前に出張で行きました。川沿いの道路はあまり変わっていないですね。当時は自動車は少なかったです。通学途中の小学生が立ち止まって、長い間、手を振ってくれました。この道路沿いのチベット族の民家は、立派で驚きました。とにかく懐かしいです。

很不錯短短巴士遊樂！很高身的祣行巴士，但不是雙層載客那種，服務中心那段較為現代，進入318後都還是路窄危險，所以這麼大巴士去拉薩還是不太合適，丹巴縣都十分有藏族色彩，但未能看看大湖及雪山是遺憾一些吧！
