Dave, i just discovered your site. Great stuff. I totally agree about making upgrades that improved the drivability of the car while still remaining true to its character. I've done similar upgrades to my 1970 TR-6; fusebox, alternator, volt gauge, radiator,...). My wife and I took it on the car train from Virginia to Orlando FL and then drove the 800 mile (round trip) to Key West a few years ago. It was a great trip but a little nerve wracking since it was the car's first long distance trip.
Thanks, Dave for the tips. I am breaking in my car driving 50 mile increments. The car (TR 4) is equipped with a Judson supercharger, so I need to get about 500 miles before going crazy with the supercharger. I have accumulated 150miles. Today the winter snow has started. The car will sleep till spring.
Great upgrades Dave and a Great Looking Car Too!
Thanks Dave! I really appreciate that.

I’ve been eyeing the 123 ignition. Set it and forget it. Nice upgrade to make a reliable driver.
The 123 distributor is truly a set and forget part! It’s not cheap but you get what you pay for.
