Seán bar in athlone is the oldest. I’m so glad you went to Gallagher’s Boxtyhouse incredible food I grew up on boxty. They also do a dinner boxty like a crêpe so they wrap food in it which is really fabulous. When in Ireland never never never asked for a car bomb it makes light of the troubles. Sounds like you met a nice person who was polite to you. Many people on both sides of the border are still affect by the troubles. You definitely seems like you embrace the culture of the people. The surfing out west is very good I know they have competitions I don’t know when that is. I wish you had gotten over to the Docklands and the grand canal which is a lovely newer area that’s where all the tech companies are but it’s a beautiful neighborhood. It looks like you enjoyed.

FYI the Irish Car Bomb is not a think here as it is literally named after violence up the North and the IRA bombing of cars. It would be a bit insensitive to sell it here… Baileys is a really Irish drink too. Very popular if you have people over around Christmas. The Irish eggnog😉🤣

American here, and even I was like no way did they ask for a carbomb in IRELAND!!!! We were there this past May…..is it possible to feel homesick for a place you’ve only been for a week?
@@jahnadooling9090 Yes it is, I'm from Dublin and went to Amsterdam for 5 days with my girlfriend from Nov 1st 2022 to Nov 5th 2022 and I literally had tears in my eyes as we left Amsterdam Centraal for the Airport. Some cities just hit you differently and make you feel like you belong and are missing out.
The ice cream looks delicious. Love your dads jokes 😂😂 The book of Kells is so beautiful. It was one of the first places we went to when we went to Dublin. Great video guys!

Right beside the cemetery is Kavanagh's - The Grave Diggers Pub and Restaurant which serves a real Dublin Coddle and one of the best pints of Guinness in Dublin. You can walk through the gate beside The Grave Diggers into The National Botanic Gardens. Enterance to the gardens is free. A short walk from the Botanic Gardens is The Bald Eagle Pub, Cross Guns, Phibsboro for fabulous food, drink and great Guinness. A two minute short walk from the Bald Eagle is an original Victorian Pub The Hut Pub, Phibsboro which serves the best Guinness in Dublin. This pub still retains all of its original Victorian tiled floors, mahogany and brass bar. It's a really beautiful pub and well worth a visit.

Just watched your Ireland vids. Weather can be lovely in Ireland. My childhood summers were spent on the beach there (maybe chilly at times but we didn't care!) Best of luck in future travels.
Gallagher is pronounced galla-her!! Really weird that as an Irish citizen I’ve not once seen the book of kells, or ever went to boxty, and I’ve lived as a Dubliner for all 21 years of my life😭 glad you liked it
Surprised you didn’t try a spice bag, it’s only available here, you walked by cloud nine, and kakilang for fun things to try as well! Tea Bus, escape rooms and sitting in st stephens green park on the grass munching on good snacks (fair enough it was raining) , st stephens green shopping centre is the oldest shopping centre in Ireland, o connell street, Henry street and Parnell as well is nice to visit, mainly for all the cultural diversity and food that’s in Ireland, the full Irish breakfast, for next time as well, and maybe do give the Irish McDonald’s a shot too, I know every American ive ever spoken to has said no Maccies in the states top our chicken nuggets and burgers! If you ever come back to Dublin again, these are sure fun things to do!!

Great video! We are planing a trip to Ireland early next year. Can we use our standard (US) credit cards in Ireland (swipe and signature) or do we have to have credit cards with PIN numbers? Not many US cards have PIN numbers except for cash advances…
Really glad you enjoyed my city but I would suggest people absolutely avoid Temple Bar, except for food, like the Boxty House (silent 2nd G in Gallagher’s), but don’t go into the pubs as their prices are way higher that others and they blatantly rip,you off
When you are having a pint of Guinness splitting, the G is not compulsory. Drink what you can manage to enjoy it and secondly i would not expect a woman to manage that amount in one sip ,other than that. I hope you enjoyed your stay in Ireland.
Don’t know why this came up in my suggestions but very cool video. Glad you enjoyed this great city and country. Couple of other cool facts for you in case you didn’t know: 1 - Kilmainham Gaol is most famous for the executions of the leaders of the 1916 rising. If it wasn’t for them this wouldn’t be the Republic of Ireland. It’s also a film location for the original Italian Job movie with Michael Caine. 2 - The trinity college library is also library from Harry Potter.
Lived in Dublin for over 2 years and this was a decent cross section. A few spots to add are Searsons for sheperds pie, Mcgrattans for Guinness stew, and Sheehans for a pint and a burger. Sheehans is just off Grafton, and the other 2 are off Lower Baggot . Any cabbie will know the spots. mcgrattans has a small peat fireplace which is nice on a cold and wet day.
Speaking from experience, Dublin is not just a great city but the ppl are phenomenally wonderful, love the Accent, done the Guinness factory tour and some local bars, all very friendly👍❤️🇬🇧🇮🇪

The oldest pub in Ireland is Seans Bar in Athlone.
It’s from the 900.
Pubs didnt exist back then they found a piece of wattle on the site of Seans bar that could be from the the 10th century
