It took me 5 years living out of Ireland to realise how beautiful our little island is, so much on our doorstep and yet we don’t realise. I moved home just before covid, the travel bans made me rediscover the west coast. It’s incredible ☘️

It's actually wild how much tourists fit in to a 5 day trip to Ireland . If you suggested this to an Irish person they would laugh in your face and be like "nah... thanks I'm going to Spain"- Fair play to you guys ! PS Galway is definitely the best city, not biased at all as a Galway girl ;)

True! I think this works for almost every country in Europe. I’ve met people who told me they’ve done a 6/7 day trip in Italy from North to South. But it’s impossible to see everything of course. Us Italians would never do that 😅

If ye are coming over to Ireland again & if ye come to visit sligo I'll show ye around. Loads of beach's, mountains, trails, waterfalls, live music. All around the coast of Ireland the scenery everywhere is amazing & peaceful. Nothing like getting away from the hectic city life. Gives us much greater perspective on life & what's truly important. Plus the blast of fresh air near the ocean is something else.
Your only getting a wee taste of the County's over 5 days. You could of easily of seen more in Cork, kerry & Dublin by doing 5 days in one place. But as a first time here glad ya enjoyed your visit.

Cliffs of Moher are highly worth seeing, and taking a boat out to the Aran Islands is great too. Next trip be sure to go to Dingle, it's my favorite part of Ireland, and the Rock of Cashel is super cool too.

Hi There, Irish viewer here. I see from the footage that you did go through Dingle. For any visitors with a short visiting time, I'd recommend you drive the Dingle Penninsula rather than the Ring of Kerry. The Ring of Kerry is looooong, too much time in the car. Dingle Penninsula shorter so you can spend more time exploring. Sorry about the weather. We have had the Wettest Summer ever. Climate change bringing us more rain, like we needed it!!!

I enjoyed your video, thanks for it. Just a couple of points to add - politically most Irish people consider the whole island as one country - ie there is no 'Republic' and 'Northern' - it's just Ireland. You completed a loop of the Southern half of the country - a similar loop for the Northern half would be roughly Dublin - Belfast - Antrim coast- Derry - Donegal - Sligo- Galway - Dublin

The gift of the gab isnt about how much you talk but more about what you say it or how you say it. The type of person who can talk themselves out of trouble be it through charm, humour or sincerity has the gift of the gab.
For an easy day trip out of Dublin that doesnt involve lots of driving I would suggest the Powerscourt Estate at the foot of the Wicklow mountains. It is home to the No.3 top garden in the world. Beside it is the Powerscourt waterfall which at 400ft is the highest in Ireland. Further on is Glendalough with its famous 6th century church and round tower which was a refuge from viking attacks. Then the road out of Glendalough leads to Sallys Gap which overlooks the Guinness lake. This lake and the land was owned by the Guinness family and the lake looks like a pint of Guinness. The Sally gap is so rustic and barren at the top of the Wicklow mountains its hard to believe your only an hour from Dublin city centre. Co. Wicklow is also known as the garden of Ireland.

I have such a soft spot for that country, I always have. last summer I went to Ireland for 2 weeks-- I stayed in Dublin for one, and then did a week long roadtrip with an Irish friend of mine who lives in the Arran Islands. we did all the spots you didn't lol-- we went from the arran islands to wicklow to galway and the cliffs of moher, to mullingar for the fleagh chaoil (sorry if thats spelled wrong) -- which is irelands largest trad music festival. was magical.

Here's a thought, we chose a small village between Cork and Limerick as a base for a week. The village was Bruff . We came as strangers , whilst there we were treated like long lost family. Everything is close in South African terms. I use to be a tour guide before i retired. Every Irish tourist told me you must see Ireland before you die. In 2017 i was in ICU with a massive pulmonary embolism. The doctor told me i kept telling himni can't die, i haven't been to Ireland yet.
6 months later a week in self catering in Dublin, a week in Bruff and a week in Lusk.

As a Cork person, Cork city probably isn't the best part of Cork especially depending where you are staying!! I'm from Kinsale and its so lovely, as is West Cork (though locals will tell you that west cork only begins at Clonakilty / Rosscarbery) - in my opinion some of the most beautiful spots in the country!! Cork city has its charms and its spots but you need to know them - the Marina Market is an amazing indoor food market with such good spots you should definitely go to if you ever come back! UCC the university has some gorgeous buildings and greenery on its campus too. I know you were trying to fit as much in as possible in 5 days but I think the main thing that's nice about Ireland is the scenery and finding the secret spots which you need more time in a place!!
Glad you enjoyed it in general though and Galway is honestly an amazing city, one of my favourite places as a Cork gal!!

That's a shame...only 5 days in Ireland. My wife and I just got back from 2 weeks in Ireland and 3 days in Wales and that was way too short of time to really explore the beauty of this land. We have many friends there and spent a good portion of our trip visiting them. Our stay overs were Dublin, Aherlow, Dingle, Doolin, Galway, Clifden, Cong, Maynooth then off to Wales for 3 days with another good friend. We had a blast and will be returning for a longer stay as we have an open invitation to use our friends house in Abbeyfeale as a home base.

If I were to guess I'd have guessed Galway for you ancestory, because of your dark hair. I in the 16th century the Spanish went to invade England with a massive naval force. Long story short, it didn't work out and on their way home a massive storm blew them around the west coast of Ireland. A lot of their ship sang but some made it ashore and the rest is history. A lot of Galway people to this day had black hair from their Spanish roots. So, add Spain to you list, Ireland, Poland, Spain?

I know what you're saying about Killarney v Cork.........BUT, and this pains me as a Dub, West Cork is absolutely spectacular, particularly from Kinsale all the way over and The Beara Peninsula.

Next time you go check out the Aran Islands, they are one of my favorite places, you can get the boats from Doolin. Also the Burren national park, and Connemara national park are beautiful places. There is so much to do, you really need more that 5 days next time! Also if you like coffee, in Dublin there is a coffee shop called 3fe, if it’s still there, really friendly staff and good coffee. Great video Btw.

Lovely. Beautiful video quality - you missed out on a lot but only 5 days. If you return there's a trail from Doolin to the Cliffs - one of the most spectacular trails I've been on. Also Doolin phenom trad music and fish and chips stellar at Gus O'Connors place.

WOW YOU SOLD ME MY OWN COUNTRY HAHA!!!!! I want to come back home!!!! Great video! delighted you two had an amazing trip!!!! Love the shots, pictures, and captured raw beauty! Ireland is great for the soul! Very old and ancient country with crazy historical importance!!!!! Ahhhhhhhh your Irish-American!!!! Galway girl!!!!! Congrats!!!!! You won the jackpot there! Great use of the drone too!!!! Them West coast cliffs and in Clare and Donegal are unreal!!!!
As you see I'm commenting as I go after watching. Shame about the weather in the West and not able to see the Cliffs of Moher. But maybe this will tempt you back to Ireland again? I know it's a typical American thing Trinity..... but Galway University would have been cooler along the river Corrib (of which Galway gets it's name Abhainn na Gaillimhe, but Gaol in Irish is jail, so along time ago it was the city of mixed travellers and prisoners). Did you get to see Salthill too? I guess the weather turned from Limerick on....
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come back to Ireland and discover my home county of MAYO!!!!!!!! You guys need to finish it!!!!! In Mayo we have our patron Saint Patrick and a mountain Croagh Patrick! It's where pilgrims walk up the mountain to a church at the top, and if you do it 3 times in your life you will go straight to heaven..... it's near Westport! THEN DON'T MISS SLIGO & DONEGAL!!!!!! Sligo is where WB Yeats, I guess where you visited in Trinity he attended! But as you know he was an amazing historical influence with poetry, a playwright, founded the Abbey Theatre, and won the nobel peace prize. WB Yeats is buried just outside Sligo in Drumcliffe cemetery Sligo. Also has Queen Maeve and the famous Knocknarea to climb where her tomb buried on top with stones!!!! Sligo as amazing scenery like Strandhill, Rosses Point, the famous Benbulbin and Ox Mountains to ramble on trails and the famous Glencar Waterfull! Then there is DONEGAL!!!!!! The Glenties mountain range here!!! Donegal has the highest cliffs in Europe! The knitwear and linenwear, the people, and Letterkenny with Inishbofin and Tory Island unreal!!!!
It's a shame most tourists that come to Ireland for the first time ALWAYS overlook Mayo, Sligo, and Donegal. I've met loads of Americans I meet in Galway on trips back to Dublin saying they toured from Belfast to Galway, but always miss the best part of Ireland hands down...... Never time fly into Knock Ireland West and do the West Elena)))))
Thanks for the video! It is a great start you've had to the Emerald Isle

I really enjoyed this, and the aspects that caught your attention that don't seem 'that' special to a Brit but, you know, really are lovely.
I did shout 'blackberries!' At one point but that's part of the fun.
I'm going to watch a few more now.
