It took me 4 hrs. to study the full video and honestly sometimes I felt like falling asleep, reason why it took me that long going back and repeating, thanks for explaining so clear and concise. Please do one more about how inventory works and assemblies and what happens behinds the scene with the accounting...how to take partial payments on something that has not been assembly or not to be deliver yet, etc., hopefully as complete as this video is. Thanks so much for sharing...love it.
Hi Claire! Thank you so much for the comment. It’s very flattering that it was so helpful and I also appreciate the feedback. I took a screenshot and will do my best to dig into these topics more. There should also be some of them covered on our channel. Thank you again for watching!
Hi Katie B, Awesome Video. I like your style. I don't like using scripts either so your delivery made me feel right at home. I am very familiar with SAP B1 but just started a job where they use the QB 2022 Manufacturing desktop version. They do a lot of down payments when customers place orders and a lot of Vendor prepayments when order supplies. Do you have a video on how to properly enter in such transactions? The way they are handling it now is to create invoices using the Sales order number as the invoice number and applying the down payments. They do same thing for POs - Enter them in as invoices then apply the cash. So, obviously lots of issues as inventory is never going to be accurate, nor will AP or AR. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi Bill! Would love to get on a call and go over this, but basically I usually suggest doing a sales receipt for a deposit and having a deposit line item linked to either AR or an unearned revenue account, depending on your accounting basis. You use a deposit item so it doesn’t change inventory counts. Then, once you create invoice add that line back on there as a negative line item. There are other ways, but I have always preferred this one. For AP you can do something similar with checks. The key is the item. I use deposit so I can report on it. My email is kbunschoten@certumsolutions.com if you would like to set up some training or work together. Thanks again!
I really enjoy your videos, you really helped me a lot. Do you have any videos on how to invoice from quickbooks and do you have any videos on how to look for sales order
Thank you so much!! I think the QBES manufacturing and so / po videos go through it for qbes. That being said, I will add these topics to do a focused video on soon. Thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback.
Hello!! Online is more limited in product, but can be really great in conjunction with add on software, and does have some limited inventory abilities. They are improving it constantly. I just saw your email and will follow up this am! Excited to discuss in more detail! :-)
We bought a 1 user Enterprise version. Can I put the QB file on a shared computer and map that location to our 2 laptops. We both need to use QB just not at the same time.
You would be better off using gotomypc etc. sometimes that will work temporarily but it is meant to be licensed per device so we can’t really say it will work.
I’m so glad it was helpful! Happy to help if you’d like to talk about anything that was not easy. Sometimes I talk too fast or jump around. Thank you for the comment!
I just want to export a report with all the employees for a year and sort so I can create EFW2s to file with each state. Employer went over 800 employees and have spent hours online with quickbooks so don't want to have to do that just to remove a paycheck to delete 38 employees. A 3rd party app that actually works, anything. Quickbooks says they've been working on it tirelessly but after 17 years I doubt that. Big surprise to QBO users trying to E-file I see. Quickbooks doesn't even show how to convert because it's such a complicated process I have a 4 page self made instruction book on it.

Which QuickBooks version is best suited for businesses that include manufacturing and inventory?
Enterprise platinum or possibly QBO advanced with add on. If you give us a call or email we can do a complimentary needs assessment
